Didn't spend time here for the studying but it seems that they facilitate business sessions whereby the attendees have a chance to interact with the students with a view to 'selling' their organisations and maybe picking up some recruits. 1 Star -- Poor Support, Misleading Promises, and Not Worth the Money…read more I regret signing up with Access Training UK. What was sold to me as a flexible, supportive course for career changers has turned out to be frustrating, disorganised, and overpriced. Since April 2025, I've been trying to resit two exams with no success. Despite being on sabbatical leave and repeatedly contacting their team, I've had no meaningful help, no clear dates, and no urgency. Head Office takes days to respond to emails, even when I've stated clearly that I'm working to a deadline before returning to work in September. They've offered resits in Cardiff and Welwyn Garden City -- hundreds of miles from where I live in Yorkshire, which is completely unrealistic. Manchester was later suggested, but only after I chased multiple times -- and that's still not ideal. The practical training I did in January was intense and not beginner-friendly. You're expected to learn a huge amount in a few short weekends with limited instruction. There's no real student network or support -- just isolation and pressure to learn fast from a few webinars and self-study resources. I had to buy all the key textbooks myself, even though I was told materials were included. You're also charged £50 for each exam resit, with only a vague breakdown of what areas you did poorly in -- no real feedback or support to help you pass next time. Multiple students I spoke to had the same experience. Worst of all, it felt like they didn't even contact me about practical training until my payment plan was nearly complete -- once they'd secured my money, the support basically disappeared. Access Training promise flexibility, support, and a clear path into the trades. In my experience, it's just an expensive sales pitch with poor delivery, limited support, and hidden costs. Avoid making the same mistake I did.

I opted in however the course starts only after a month and when I started the course and felt it wasn't the right for me and requested refund I was told the cooling off period has expired as it was from the day of purchase rather than the actual start of the course. I guess the training was fine but the course itself advertising that even a complete newbie can get this done and start a new career it was another mistake and I was fed lot of misinformation by Darren. I lost thousands of pounds and time because of this. I vented by frustration and after a while I was told Daren was no longer with company which was another big fat lie. I guess this course works for your if you have been in the trade before like if you are electrician or plumber not for the beginners though. I passed through the theory bits and was told will be provided guaranteed help with the practical bit to build my portfolio but there was no help at all as I didn't know anyone from the trade background. I had no choice than to go back to my normal job rather than wasting my time dreaming to become a qualified gas engineer. New entrants stay away from here. They are like scammer getting you to opt in by offering massive discounts and once money has been taken you won't get what you have been promised. This happened in 2018 by the way but I though I had to share this view for new people who are thinking of taking the training. Stay away!!!!

Upon my inquiry the adjacent Georgain building houses the mixed primary and prep school. Children from different geographical and cultural backgrounds go to study and is a local community school run by a trust fund and its members. Not much green space to it I thought, its entrance grounds are very cold and grey. Quiet an air of Victorian rigidness and emotionless warmth to the place. The running and exciting shouts of little kids distracted me from my dissection. The security is superb, you can't walk in without someone opening the gates. I wonder how disciplined the young children are trained to be, especially when you have a pot-pourrie fo culture to manage. I spoke to one of the teachers who was friendly and calm in nature, she was looking after the kids in their break. The localtion of this school is important because the local community around rough Hackney, they are able to give their children a safe and cultured environment to develop. The children's literature section has also been given top-priority and you'll find an wonderful array of picture books and stories for kids that are great to peruse for the sheer fun of it. I've also been consistently impressed by their dance and theatre section - not the typical sort of thing for a small library to have collected so thoroughly. The other great part about this library is the darling café on the top floor; it offers some of the most marvelous views of the city and carries an inexpensive, but good-looking, selection of quiches and sandwiches. Did I mention there's free Wi-Fi? True to its name, the Learning Centre also offers an amazing amount of classes and workshops on everything from art to finance - so complimentary, and some for a nominal fee. This really is an amazing little place - each time I go there it always manages to please me in some new way.

He gave us an enormous amount of fascinating information, and it seemed impossible not to be stimulated by his gushing enthusiasm and passion for the subject. I am not a Dickens expert, so was attracted by getting all the background. There was a lot of fun and laughter, particularly with his vivid description of the primitive sewerage system (or lack of)! Congratulations too, at looking the part so well. The pub was typically Dickensian, though I was pleased to get a good cup of coffee from the friendly staff.
