Having previously been in at least 4 other nursing facilities in the Denver area, we have finally found a place with consistently loving, compassionate caregivers on every level. Laundry staff, cleaning, maintenance, receptionists, CNA's, RNs, MD's Physical and Occupational Therapists , Activity specialists and kitchen staff ( If I left anyone out, it was purely unintentional ).... Bottom line, ALL are AMAZING ! I can honestly say that , in 3 years, I have not noticed anything but kindness and compassion exuding from all staff members. From the care we have received, it is quite obvious that the staff are happy in their chosen professions. A clear example of how fun and special Fairacres is would be the myriad of activities available to those who want to partake. Angie Spencer , a long time employee and Director of Activities, has worked there for years. She puts her heart and soul into making as many days and special occasions as possible super fun. On Monday, for example, when I arrived, they were having a musical chairs type cake walk. It was so fun to watch and if you "landed on" the number that was called out, you won a delicious small bakery cake ! Two days later, I arrived to see my sister and it was " Karaoke Day " . The residents who participated loved it !! Angie had also decorated the resident hallways each day with symbols of various countries , like Mexico, Spain, France etc. The food that was served throughout the day aligned with the particular country that was being showcased. Every Friday, from noon til 5, residents , either male or female can get manicures while listening to " oldies" from their younger years. I literally could go on and on with Bingo, field trips , Wii bowling , volunteer bands and singing groups , dog shows , Valentine's parties etc etc etc. She and her team go out of their way to spread warmth and joy among the residents . It is really quite remarkable. From a medical standpoint, that level of care is also outstanding. The nurses, doctors , Nurse Practitioners and CNA's are all very knowledgeable and caring. I am a retired RN MS and so , please know , that my observations come from a very objective viewpoint. My hope for anyone who is looking for a loving "home" for their family members is that you find what I and many like me have found at Fairacres. I apologize for writing a " book" , I just feel very passionately about this wonderful facility !!!

Most activities are directed toward the assisted living residents who live downstairs. As an advocate for my Mother, 98% of the time, I had to notify the nursing staff when there was a problem. Most activities are directed toward the assisted living residents who live downstairs. I emailed back and forth with Jennifer (Dir of Marketing) several times for info on pricing/services. I also checked out their website's Careers page because I want to be sure my dad is supported by caregivers who are paid well and offered good benefits, as research shows those who are treated well by employers give better care to residents. But even though the page listed job openings, no pay ranges or benefits were listed, so I asked Jennifer to provide this info and explained why I requested it. Jennifer responded, "I would like to have time to talk with you in detail. Usually these questions are asked by competitors cold calling so I hope I am not coming across skeptical. ... I definitely would like to provide you with the information to make the best decision for your dad. A virtual tour is also something available if you cannot do one in person." This response was not only weird and off-putting, but also objectively problematic: 1. Colorado legally requires employers to publicly post pay ranges with job listings so workers don't have to waste time applying and interviewing for jobs with unfair wages. 2. Jennifer prioritized her fear of giving super basic info to competitors over giving transparent info to someone going through the traumatic process of watching her dad basically deteriorate. 3. Jennifer implied she would essentially hold info hostage unless I went on a tour with her. 4. If she was THAT worried, she could've easily found me on LinkedIn to see if I was a competitor. I sent a firm but cordial response pointing out that Grace Pointe is not legally compliant and the lack of transparency for both prospective clients and employees is unfair. I forwarded the email chain to the owner and executive director, clearly requesting a response/clarification from all three parties. Strangely, I didn't receive a reply, even though Jennifer had replied to all previous emails promptly. However, their Careers page was almost instantaneously updated, with all job listings removed and replaced by generic messages about how Grace Pointe loves its employees. As a former board member of a senior care nonprofit and volunteer of 3 different senior care organizations, these events have by far been the most concerning I've ever witnessed -- especially from a healthcare organization whose primary responsibility is ensuring seniors receive good care.

They only try to get through the time period, to get paid from parents or insurance. It is NOT worth a penny wasted. The therapist/counselor was never helping my child meet their goals, but would rather only focus on what they were always doing wrong. In the few family sessions, I, the parent was the one doing all the talking. The counselor never really put any effort to work towards rebuilding a relationship between parent and child and never started any form of working towards goals for discharge. They allow bulling as well. The only day I was happy with Greeley, was the day I dropped him off. And that was because everyone of course put on their best clothes and best smiles, knowing a new parent was coming in. The only three people that I would say, gave an effort for my child; nurse, psychiatrist and teacher. Other than that, they were just there for the check and to say they have a job. It is bad when you walk in and an employee, the counselor, smells like smoke, and she is supposed to be an example. The life coaches have it pretty hard, as they do most of the work and have the least amount of training. it is not a healthy place for your child. Please don't waste your time, money or your child's mental stability, sending them there.
