If I could give them TEN STARS I would! I broke my big toe on my right foot at work. I went to the…read morelocal walk-in for an x-ray and they were going to refer me to one of their providers. I declined after asking friends in the area who I should see for a podiatrist. Family Foot & Ankle clinic was recommenced over and over! I called to set up an appointment & they got me in to see a doctor right away. I saw DR. MARK MAGNUS. He was absolutely AMAZING!!! He is an EXPERT on anything to do with the foot or ankle. Dr. Magnus is kind and compassionate. He LISTENS to the patient's questions and concerns and takes the TIME to answer them all while making sure his patient understands the treatment plan. He said many times to me at the end of an appointment, "If you have ANY questions or PROBLEMS with your foot or toe, please call me right away'!" He wrapped my broken toe independent of any other toes (a type of soft splint with gauze and cohesive) and put me in a walking boot to keep the toe stationary so it healed properly. He wrote me a work restriction letter that was clear and concise for my employer and he communicated with the workman's comp insurance company to keep them updated on my injury and the progression in the healing process. He did x-rays at most of the appointments to ensure the bone was fusing back together properly and to check the progression of it. A broken big toe is painful and it's a lengthy healing process. I followed his directions exactly and it healed just the way it should. I'm now off of work restriction and can walk just fine on that foot. Some days it still get's sore but it seems to get better every week. I am 5 months out from the injury and I haven't tried running on it yet as I am waiting for Dr. Magnus' blessing in order to do so! Family Foot & Ankle Clinic has that small town feel to it, with the expertise you'd expect at a big city hospital or clinic! The receptionists, other doctor's and doctor's assistant's are also very professional, kind & caring! I have very high standards and expectations when it comes to my health and health care providers! DR. MARK MAGNUS is an amazing doctor who FAR exceeded my standards and expectations!

The doctor went on a 3 week vacation and ignored providing the short term disability company notes…read moreso my case was closed. It was re-opened and suddenly there were 4 pages of notes basically calling me a liar. I was out of work with a legitimate foot injury and did not receive one penny in compensation because of their mis-diagnosis.

I had a very sore left heel and could hardly walk on it. I went to the Aspirus Walk-in Clinic in…read moreWeston, was diagnosed with planter fasciitis, x-rayed, and given heel cushions and told to go to the Aspirus Podiatry office in Wausau. I was told the Walk-in would not prescribe Prednisolone due to my recent ambulance call, emergency room visit, GI specialist doctor visit, endoscopy, clamp put in my stomach and two months using acid reducing pills to stop stomach bleeding that caused severe pain and diarrhea. Brent Zastrow, DPM saw me at the Aspirus Podiatry Associate .I was sold a $40 pair of orthodic inserts and given a prescription for Voltaren and a PRESCRIPTION FOR PREDNISOLONE AFTER TELLING HIM I COULD NOT TAKE IT DUE TO MY SEVERE STOMACH BLEEDING! I consulted my GI doctor and he said in no way should I take the prednisolone! When I called Brent Zastrow's office and told them that, the nurse returned my call and said there was nothing else Brent Zastrow could give me. I felt that BRENT ZASTROW WOULD NOT AND DID NOT CONSIDER MY SPECIFIC MEDICAL HISTORY, TREATED ME AS JUST ANOTHER TYPICAL CASE, AND HAD NO OTHER CONSIDERATION OR CARE HE WOULD GIVE ME. I cancelled the appointment with him that he had me make for A MONTH later. Several days later, visiting another podiatrist, I got a cortisone shot and an another appointment in two weeks. I feel that Brent Zastrow would not listen, had no empathy for me as a patient and acted in a very unprofessional manner. I can not recommend him to other podiatric patients.
