Bondi surf co is not your typical surf shop for people who just want the latest trend of board shorts or a cute bikini or budgie smugglers, don't get me wrong, the Bondi Surf Co do sell all those things,; but this is a Surf shop for serious surfers, hence they are the place you go if you really want to surf, rather than just look like you surf. They offer a wide range of surf boards varying in brands and styles so serious surfers can find boards tailored to their surfing requirements. Also they offer a board hire service, so tourists, this is where you can test your surfing expertise. But yes, for everyone else they have all the beachwear you may need, so if you forgot your thongs or lost your sunnies you can find them here. Conveniently they are also directly across the road from the beach. read more

Cheap board hire, though terrible service and low-quality products (e.g. damaged surfboards). Most importantly, the staff was rude and inattentive to many of the customers' needs. In particular, I had the displeasure of interacting with an employee (pacific islander, brunette hair, overalls) who felt her job was less important than the SMS messages she was tending to. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back to this location, and highly recommend others go elsewhere. read more
The guys down here gave me some great service and advice. They also gave me a great deal on a board and 20% off accessories. I have also purchased clothing from here. Check them out if you are after some surf or skate gear and clothing. read more

Was pretty irked when I rented a board here. Got copped a major load of attitude from the guy behind the register. It felt like "just give me your money get out of my face. You're bothering me." I had one last day in town and got out to Bondi for a late morning surf session. I'm not a great surfer, but I'm no beginner. That was the assumption the guy at Bondi Surf Co was made with me. I asked him what kinds of boards they had to rent and his answers were short and unfriendly. Just go with the big soft top and stop asking me about it type answers. I'm sure all day long the tourists who come in there are first timers or once a year types but that's not me. Sucks when you're put in that nutshell. I went with a big soft top anyway cause it was a shit day out. I then asked him if he could hold my small bag of clothes, wallet, phone. "Nope" was the answer, just the wallet and phone. Told me the owner doesn't want to hang on to renters' stuff when they're out in the water. That was enough to almost make me give the board back and tell him to fuck off then. Already gave him the money though and didn't want to let this guy ruin my day. Luckily Sydney is a ridiculously safe city and I left the rest of my stuff in my bag on the beach. Nobody touched it but I wouldn't have chosen to do that. Had some fun out the in water. The board was big and floppy but caught waves easily. Returned the board to a much nicer guy who I think was from France. There's a Rip Curl shop next door that I think was renting boards as well. Will go there next time. read more

Nothing special but they've have all the basics needed for a surfing vacation. $15 for 1 hr board rental and $25 for 2 hrs. Conveniently located across from the beach. Every beach needs a shop like this. read more

Good selection of Havianas - including the Aussie flag ones - and board shorts.

Staff may be friendly - it actually depends on the weather. So does the price they charge you with : I bought a wetsuit there and try to negociate for a more reasonable price ; the man told me he couldn't go under $200 whereas my friend had bought the same product a couple of days before for $150 !! I guess their goal is to take the more they can from unlocal people... So be careful ! read more
