I returned a few months later, this afternoon, for the Jet Peel Signature with Leigh Ann. Leigh Ann fit my insanely crazy work schedule before my Thursday Philly trip, otherwise I would have--and perhaps should have--booked in advance with Rhianna. To be fair, maybe I picked the wrong facial. But spending $212 ($185+15% courtesy tip) and getting subpar results for twice the price of my initial signature facial caused a few frown lines...not sure whether Tru offers Botox, but I won't return to find out. Leigh Ann spent the majority of our brief facial session (less than 1 hour) talking about how horrible my skin was, and how certain facials would help my skin condition in the future. Look, I understand addressing skin conditions and offering a solution--once or twice, which is what Rhianna did. But taking our whole appointment to promote future services while degrading my face and without providing quality within our current facial is a complete FAIL. Perhaps my standards are too high, but as a model who recently moved from Los Angeles and felt stoked off my first appointment here, perhaps it was today's sad service. The extractions were minimal at best, and aside from the hydro-blasting machine, this felt like a weak "slather-creams-on-and-call-it-a-day" service I could have executed myself. When I went to the bathroom while waiting for my Uber driver, I noticed a few white heads that could have easily been extracted had Leigh Ann focused more on my face in the current moment and focused less on future sales. As a Pilates instructor, this strikes me as no different than dwelling on a client's love handles and how "future services" could "fix" these issues, instead of paying full attention to my client and catering to their individual needs within our time together. If Tru Esthetics wants returning clients, it should provide more of the quality I experienced in my first session, and less of the promotional-fluff I experienced this afternoon. Rhianna completely zapped an incoming cyst in my first facial, and Leigh Ann could barely extract a basic zit today. Again, I'm disappointed that I spent over $200 today on results I could have achieved myself at home.
