Got that? Among the coupons in the Consumer Pak that came in the mail was one for Saratoga Roofing. It said they also did siding in addition to roofing. I figured that might give them an advantage. I called, talked to a real person, and explained what my problem was. I was informed that their estimator, Oleg, would be contacting me to schedule a visit. I received the call from Oleg not more than 30 minutes later. He was able to schedule a visit later that same day. When Oleg arrived, we reviewed the work that needed to be done. Taking advantage of his presence and knowledge, I pointed out a less urgent problem with the soffit in a different section of the house, and a concern I had with some siding at a third location. He assured me that the two soffit problems could be fixed and that I did not need to be concerned about the siding issue. We then agreed upon a price to do the soffit repairs. I was next actually surprised to see that Oleg was prepared to do the repairs right then and there. He unloaded the necessary ladders, tools, and equipment to safely scale the garage roof and fix my major problem. With that section of soffit resolved he moved to the other side of the house and realigned and secured the other soffit. I can't be more pleased with the service, promptness, and work performed by Saratoga Roofing. Oleg was very personable and a pleasure to work with.

Using a lift crane to decorate their customers home they completely blocked the street for hours and yelled at the residents to "go around the block" and at one point even gave the middle finger to two of us. Rather than say "sorry for the inconvenience and would you mind going around temporarily", they chose to be extremely rude. I find this unacceptable for a company that touts themselves as "local".

Our goal was to restore it to its original liveability as a single family home. Teakwood has a reputation as expensive and our initial bid, to do everything on a wish list, was pretty high. But they worked with us and a revised bid was significantly lower and we went with them. This bid entailed a clear-eyed distinction between "need to" and "nice to" improvements so we ended up with a price we were happy with. The quality of the work, both by Teakwood carpenters and their subs, is superb. Teakwood has a philosophy of assigning a master carpenter to oversee the job and our guy, Dan Decenzo, could not be better. Josh, the guy who did a number of built-ins, is a master of his craft and we now have benches and bookcases that look like they have been there 130 years like the rest of the structure. We were offered a 1 year satisfaction guarantee and I'm prompted to write because, well over 1 year after the fact, Dan has been back recently to fix a couple minor things. Bottom line, we are really happy with Teakwood and would definitely recommend you bid out your project to them.

Finished our basement:…read more Caleb and Brian did an amazing job consulting on and finishing our basement in Mechanicville. We love the final product. When we started the project and were shopping around getting quotes, Caleb did a few things to stand out from the rest. 1) He was cuteous and on time (super easy to do, but not everyone we met checked this simple box) 2) He offered ideas and suggestions that we never would have come up with ourselves 3) He made it clear all his work would be up to code and that they don't skip steps 4) They did 90% of the work themselves (a team came for the carpets) 5) He quickly followed up with a clear digital quote with everthing spelled out so we could make adjustments where needed. We ended up paying slightly over estimate after learning we needed an extension for our electrical box. We didn't encounter many delays, I think the biggest was the first coat of paint. It didn't dry overnight, so that slowed down the next day. Throughout the build, they went above and beyond in a number of ways: - Seeding (and re-seeing), watering and even weeding the lawn - Caleb took us out to shop for slabs giving lots of great input and advice (and the kids got to play with some chickens at the site!). - They gave us detailed breakdowns of pros/cons when choosing all materials / vanitey / outlets / vents / etc (I would assume something like this was common, but after showing family the basement, we have heard how their contractors never gave any input or advice on any decisions). - They have their own dumpster for the materials but it was also extremely helpful to get rid of junk from our basement We have a list of things we plan to do in the future both inside and outside, and we are 100% going to Caleb.
