Always helpful and even went the extra mile to help me order online. They went through it all with me on their tablet. Thank you!

From saris to god statues to kitchen utensils, these are some of the things you will find at Milans. Although there are some nice saris on sale, I'm not entirely sure whether future brides would buy saris from here. There are other shops on Soho Road that offer more in the way of bridal saris. And to be honest you will find better bridal saris elsewhere. Having said that the saris at Milans are good but not excellent and you might want to buy some saris from here anyway. That's just my view. I did like the god statues and I am into them. The majority are Hindu gods and they are well priced. I haven't actually brought any statues but I might just return here to do so. The shop is pretty clean as you would expect it to be and I may well come back to Milans in the near future.

I visited the…read morestore about a week ago with my mother, and was told that they will be having a closing down sale and moving away. OMG. They sell a good and varied selection of Asian clothing in here, and is the ideal visit if your shopping on Soho Rd. Everyone knows about this place and they have decent and reasonable prices. Over the years my family, especially my mother, have spent a small fortune in here buying Saree's and accessories that come in the most delightful of colours and fashions. It's nice how they've branched out to also include shawls, kitchenware, fashion accessories such as bindis, and items that you may need for religious worship. Overall a delightful store. Good prices, and they'll be surely missed if they were to ever leave.

Mairs are one of the exceptional stores on Soho Road for that Asian wedding and bridal attire…read more They always display the latest designs and the fashion you can't produce in the UK, they bring all the items over from all over Asia, which includes, India, Singapore and far out east. Popular, and occasionally you will find a great sale on, they also have some nice outfits for men. Certainly take friends and family with you on your visit here. Whatever colours you prefer they sell. I like how they speak lots of languages, and it's more convenient for my mothers generation who knows that she trusts what they're saying about their garments when she can speak to them in her own language. I'd recommend visiting the store, car parking is available nearby, and the shop is served with bus routes regularly from the city and West Bromwich. Quite busy on the weekends though.

Despite the fact I have not brought anything from here, I have tried one or two sherwanis from Mairs. Just wearing them felt good and the only thing that prevented me from buying them was price. I did ask if they could reduce the price by a small amount but they couldn't. What I will say is that the staff here are very friendly and will help you if you need it. They will happily answer your questions and offer you advice. I did find some sherwanis had way too much embroidery but I guess there are Asians out there that like Indian suits with plenty of sequins/embroidery. If Mairs did lower their prices then maybe I would buy a sherwani from here. As well as Menswear, there are Asian Ladieswear on sale here as well.

They specialise in bridalwear so the theme is generally the heavier and blingier, the better! Even their lighter pieces are well adorned with diamante embroidery, which is not really to my taste. However, this is a popular boutique so appears to attract a lot of women who think otherwise! Given the intricacy of some of these outrageous outfits, the prices are fittingly outrageous. They start from £300 and go well over the £1,000 mark, which is understandable for bridal outfits but not all of the designs. They have a made-to-measure service so you could have designs tailored to your size and in different colours if you desire. This takes around 4-6 weeks.

This isn't the usual shop I would go to for clothes because of their extortionate prices but I…read morethought I'd give this place a try when there was a sale on. I was pleased to find they sell clothes for ladies aged twenty to forty who have modern lifestyles. I have a keen interest in fashion and after seeing their collections a few times I can see they keep their trends up-to-date. I found out that they spend eighteen weeks every year buying clothing for niche collections and these clothes aren't available online or in department stores. So you can get an individual look, isn't that great? Like I said earlier I avoid places like this because of their high prices and even when this shop had a sale on the prices were still way out of my budget! This is definitely a shop for women who can splash some cash. However, the shop offered a nice and friendly atmosphere and customer service. If I could afford to shop here I would.

Looking for cheap and quality saris, Laxmi Fashions could be your answer. Compared to the other…read moreladies fashion shops on Soho Road, this place is not a big shop. But I guess it is all about the quality of products you sell. There are quality saris here and many of them are affordable but there are also some on the pricey side. Along with saris, there are also blouses and sari pieces on sale. I have to say this is not a bad shop for purchasing saris and you do get value for money by coming here. I can't see my parents coming here as they shop elsewhere for Indian wedding clothes. New stock does regularly arrive at this shop but from what I have seen, Laxmi Fashions does not attract many people. And that's not ideal. However the staff working here are excellent and will voice their opinions on the clothes you plan on buying.

However, they specialise in completely different products. Khushboo Textiles offers unstitched Asian outfits and fabrics. I first came here over a decade ago after rummaging through nearby fabric shops for a unique design. And since then this boutique has never failed to impress me. They have the latest designs in quality fabrics. They are one of the few boutiques I have come across that have heavily embroidered dupattas (scarves) with their outfits, because the embroidery is usually concentrated on the tops instead. Given the intricacy of their designs and quality in their fabric, they are understandably pricey. But you pay for what you get. The staff are polite and welcoming. They can usually be twisted to offer a slight discount so bargain away!
This is one place to visit if you are looking for bargain saris and 3 piece ladies suits. I was…read moresurprised at the cost of various saris in this shop and they are for sure affordable. On the outside of the shop it mentions that it has exclusive fashion jewellery. I didn't see much in the way of jewellery and you would be better off going to a specialist jewellery shop. However there are some impressive saris on offer here and I would give this place four stars at least. It is not the most spacious and biggest sari shop but I have said this many times and I will say it again. It is about the quality of products you sell and not the quantity. If you sell quality products at a decent price, you will get customers buying your products. The only reason I am not giving this shop five stars is because I didn't see much jewellery being sold here. That's the only reason. But the staff are terrific here and they are there to help you.
