If you are in Erlangen and are looking for a solid Franconian region type restaurant, stop in to…read moreBlaue Traube and you won't be disappointed. I found this gem looking on my trusty Yelp app when in town and it was just a small walk down from my hotel, so it was a no-brainer.
The restaurant itself is well maintained, clean, and has a charming atmosphere. Grabbing a seat, I was offered both a German and English version of their menu to peruse and select my choices. Service was nice and helpful, a positive service experience. The menu gives a wide variety of regional type dishes and entrees, good beer selection and other drink offerings. I chose the Jagerschnitzel the first time, a boneless pork cutlet with sauce and fresh mushrooms. It was served with French fries/pommes frites and a salad. The Jagerschnitzel was excellent, very flavorful and had a homemade like quality to it. Another entree I've enjoyed is the small pork filets in a pepper cognac cream sauce...so delicious! I was pretty impressed with my entree choices. They do take credit cards as well as cash here at the time of my visit, including Visa and American Express. Oh, and they do have a pretty spacious beergarden out back, in season of course.
Bottom line: Blaue Traube is the "real deal" when wanting Franconian regional food, a good experience here all around. Selection and taste of entrees, atmosphere, and service are all great from my visits here.
