I was recommended to try Bommarito by several people but I could not have been less impressed. I contacted the dealership about the incident and they sent Steve to try to make it better. I recd a call from someone at Bommarito who confirmed my trade in info and then asked me what car I was considering and I told her the exact car listed in their website. She said she needed to check to see if that one was still available. Then a gentleman comes on the phone and asked me again what auto I was considering and what was the stock number? So then I looked it up on their website again and gave him the stock number and asked him if it was available? He then asked me what my name and contact information were and if I had any other questions about the car? I informed him you already have my name and contact information(twice) and in fact you all called me. I did not have any additional questions about the car other than is it available or not? If it's not available, I'm not gonna ask additional questions about the car. He said, let me check and he came back and told me that car was not available. I said, when was sold because your website right now says "In Stock " - see pics below. This is so old School "Bait and switch". It makes me sick. I expect better from Bommarito. read more

I purchased a used Ford a few years ago and began having it serviced in the last couple of years at Bommarito. I've had regular maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations and they have all been handled quickly and professionally while I wait. I definitely enjoy the quick service area and that they don't constantly try to upsell me! I've recently been notified of a couple of recalls and was due for brakes. I called to Bommarito and they were able to help. On my last appointment they ended up fixing my 2 recalls, installing new front brakes, changing some fluids and cleaning and servicing my sunroof (old car and I don't want to end up with leakage). The work was performed in a timely manner and the communication from the advisor was great. The only thing I didn't love was that I was working with my Quick Service advisor and then there were changes when I got to the other Advisor (for more complex problems). They took good care of me, but I would have preferred just working with the 2nd person from the go so I knew what the options were. If you are waiting there they have multiple waiting areas, all very clean. They provide charges for your electronics as well as water, coffee and ICE CREAM. YES I SAID ICE CREAM :) Their restrooms are always clean and communication is timely. I would definitely recommend them for servicing your car. read more

Needed to find out how much a part would be for my car. I got to the parts department with "Steve" and was treated with a horrible attitude. I gave him my name so he could look me up and he didn't find my name in the system because I bought the car from Bommarito Nissan next door BUT ITS A FORD CAR. He proceeded to scream at me that I didn't buy the car from them so I need to call Bommarito Nissan. Called there and they told me I needed to call back to Ford because they are the ones with the Ford parts which is what I told Steve in the first place. Called back and I tried to give him my last 8 of the vin number and he treated me like I was stupid because their phone kept cutting out. Really disappointed. I took my 2013 f150 into their service shop with a noise in the front of my truck . They replaced the right front wheel bearing and the four wheel drive actuator . The charges came to 2400 dollars . Driving home , I still had the noise . When I got home I lifted the hood and a large pair of pliers , that they had left in my truck fell out on the ground . Also someone had taken my handicapped parking flag . I took my truck to an independent repair shop and they replaced the left front wheel actuator and fixed the noise problem . The repair charges were less than 400 dollars and the truck is fixed . Then I went to the DMV and waited in line for an hour to get another handicapped parking flag ( that was another two dollars ) . I would never take another vehicle to Bommarito Ford , never . read more

I don't recommend Bommarito Ford in Hazelwood for any service work or for a new vehicle purchase. I purchased a premium maintenance plan at the time I purchased a new truck thru Bommarito. Salesman was not honest about the plan and number of times I could bring the truck in for maintenance through the plan. The service department continually makes mistakes, wrong engine oil put in engine, to technicians flat out not performing the work but invoices show work was completed, not changing oil or rotating tires. Also, during past service experience, I get my truck back with oily handprints all over fenders and front bumper which looked intentionally placed, to grease marks on the fabric of driver seat, console, and passenger headrest. I was never reimbursed for a car wash as promised and they did a poor attempt at cleaning the grease marks from the upholstery. The service manager, during a call today, suggested a few times that I take my truck to a smaller dealership who handles a smaller volume of vehicles thru the service department, or to take my truck to a mom-and-pop shop, since Bommarito keeps getting it wrong. He offered no compensation for having to return the following day to have corrected oil put in engine, top off fluids, and put proper air pressure in tires. He also refused to provide funding for next two oil changes stilled owed to me since he suggested I take my truck to a service provider that can handle a smaller volume of vehicles. The service manager also made it clear he didn't care about customer service or the customer. read more

Was having a start fault and my car wasn't starting reliably. Took it to my normal mechanic and he wasn't able to trace the problem. Recommended I try a dealership but also stated the inspection he did found nothing else wrong with the vehicle. Take it to Bomarito Ford for service. The "professional" behind the counter Roy informed me it was 210 just to look at it. That's fine it's why I'm here. 15 min later he comes to me telling me the battery test failed and there's nothing they can do and sends me on my way. 210 for a battery test... I drive straight to auto zone where the battery test passes without issue. Take that printout back to Ford and Mr. Professional says they will look into it. I'm not offered a loaner car or anything just told to wait in the waiting room. SIX HOURS LATER they say they traced the issue to some wire and quote me around 800 for the fix. Ok. I leave. They call me the next day to say they need to replace a fuel sensor and now it's up to 1400 total. Ok whatever.ijust want me vehicle running right again. They call me in the afternoon to inform me my vehicle is running and that they found an oil leak .. I park on white stone every day.. my car has never leaked oil. But ok. I go to pick it up and Roy proceeds to tell me the oil leak is soaking the wire harness and I need to address it asap but that they don't want to take any more of my money and suggest I get the work done elsewhere.... Ok... I drive 5 miles to my home and as I'm turning onto my street smoke starts coming out from under the hood I get home and open the hood to billowing smoke and oil sprayed everywhere all over everything under my hood and spouting down to the ground...I call they ask for Roy and as I'm explaining he just says we didn't work on your oil line. He goes to the tech and explains and says they can take a look Monday for free .. so this "service advisor" is advising me to drive a vehicle spewing oil everywhere. Not only could this catch fire or blow my engine but it could endanger my life and the lives of other people on the road. I call Monday to speak with the service director as the service manager is out on maternity leave I left this man 5 messages throughout the day informing him of the situations and what dire straight not having a vehicle has left me in. I hear absolutely nothing back. I will call again tomorrow and if I am still unable to reach him will go back to the dealership ins person's. I should not be responsible for towing my vehicle that I justspent1400 to repair back to your shop and I certainly will not be driving it there and risking my life. The absolute disregard for customer care and the safety of others truly astounds me. These men are supposed to be professional yet immediate excuses and defense is all I get. My vehicle had no oil leak prior to coming into your business for service and repair. Not only did you damage my vehicle but proceeded to play dumb and send me back on the road with a possible fire hazard or possibility of losing control of my vehicle and harming other drivers. These people are criminals. Buy elsewhere and definitely never have so much as a tire aired up at this place. Not just con men but life endangering con men. read more

Since I have had many positive service experiences at other establishments in the last few years, I figured I should put my experience at this location out there so others are aware of the crooked behavior of this service department. A few years ago my Focus had been stalling when I would fully press down the brake pedal when coming to a stop light or having to make an abrupt stop. I knew this issue had the potential to be very dangerous, especially if I had to abruptly brake on the highway. I took the car into this service department and explained my problem. I got the usual response you would expect a woman to get at a service garage. They ran diagnostics and told me nothing was wrong. When I went to my parents' house and told my dad what happened, he was furious since he had been in the car with me a few times when the stall happened. He went back up there with me another day and so they kept the car longer this time to check more thoroughly. They called me the next day and told me there was an issue with the throttle body and that it needed to be entirely replaced. They quoted me about a thousand dollars for this fix. Thankfully, my dad suggested I get a second opinion. We took the car to Ronsick's Auto Shop and they identified the problem very quickly and told me they had seen it before plenty of times. The told me the throttle body just needed to be cleaned and a small sensor needed to be replaced. The whole fix was about a hundred dollars including labor. I drove the car for another few years after that and never had the stalling issue occur again. read more

Upon purchasing a vehicle (2007 f 150 ) a few year back I purchase a extended warranty roughly around 2020 my transmission needed replacing 9 It was under warranty and got replaced ),after driving the vehicle close to 2 years problems started occuring again with the transmission .Upon taken the truck back ,the service technican stated the pump in the transmission was going bad and was not covered under the warranty( 02/182022)Upon sending $3305.00 the transmission started slipping again ,the service tech( Donnie Robinson) stated the mechanics could not find anything wrong.I inform Donnie the truck needed to be driven a while for the transmission to warm up to feel the problem.Since February I have bought my truck back only for the truck to sit at Ford for weeks before someone check it out and tell me the same thing,nothing is wrong but the motor may need replacing .So I drove the truck for well over a 50 miles , bought it back in.Donnie and a technican both notice when you put the truck in gear there was a 2-3 second delay .So I bought it back again the next week only to be told nothing is wrong again .Now my truck is schedule for service Nov 29th.The service manager tells me the transmission warranty has expired ( When it was still under warranty ,no one wanted to listen nor look at my truck ) After mentioning that Donnie notice the issue , she states to me ,well Donnie has been move to another department , what ! Now my transmission is leaking in my garage ,Why should I take my truck back when you are not going to honor your work,it is not my fault that when the problem was pointed out when under warranty you could not look and address the truck issue . Best salesman and finance guy at the best Ford dealership!! Being a internet customer that is almost 900 miles away I had some reservation about buying a car site unseen. But these two put my mind at ease. And I will have to say that they look out for the customer and are upfront and honest. I purchased the car and was going to get it shipped when I received a call from Steve that he couldn't let it go cause they found a defect in the paint that could only bee seen out of the light. And that they would have it taken care of under the factory warranty. I knew right then that I had made a good choice on this dealership. I dropped my edge this morning for maintenance. I intended to do an oil change but the service representative recommended a few items such as transmission oil change etc. He said the total should be around $450 before tax. I said OK. When it was finished, he said the final cost is $640 and I was so shocked. He then went back and did some calculation and it went to $537. I still do not see how $450 plus tax can add up to $537. This $537 is also not the same price on the invoice ($599 on the invoice). So basically their service charge is just a random number, not based on the actual work. If you do not pay attention, you will be scammed by a lot. I will not come back again. it is a very dishonest place to do your service there. read more

I received a email talking about taking a test drive and receive a $50 gift card. I went to the dealership about the offer and they said if you were not buying a car today then they will jUst mail you the gift card in 2 weeks. So the salesman took down my information and that wax on December 20 2019 . It is now February 6 2020. I keep calling the dealership about the card and I keep getting the run around. After Buying four new vehicles from the Bommarito network, we will never again shop or buy from them again. Our 2014 Ford pick-up had a Transfer Case fail with less than 100,000 MILES. We had purchased from Bommarito an extended warranty for 1,975.00. The warranty was turned down (Bommarito completed an est. 95% of the service) due to us not replacing an air filter on one of our service trips. The General Manager and the Service Manager did not return my call or feel the need to advocate for us. Again, this is our fourth new car purchase from the Bommarito network!!! I contacted Chris online and communicated with him via text several times before meeting him. Communication is very important when purchasing a new vehicle from a dealership. Chris took the time to keep me informed during the entire process which included price negotiations, financing and delivery. I was very pleased with the purchase price and the financing. Chris did an outstanding job from the start to the finish of the process. I would recommend him highly to anyone thinking of purchasing a new or used vehicle. We did an oil change here 2 weeks ago. Due to the time change we leave at dark and arrive home at dark. Parking in the same spot, we noticed this issue much to late. The weekend arrives only to see our 5 yr old drive way covered in oil. Here is where the nightmare begins. My husband calls and leaves messages every day for the Service manager and the service director. After a week of no return calls he calls to make an appointment to have it checked. He was told they are 3 weeks out for appointments. This is a situation they may have wanted to handle differently. I start calling the following week (drive way is covered in oil getting worse) leaving messages. NO RESPONSE from the service manager Taylor or the service director Sean and the GM of Bommarito. I then called John Bommarito and left a message. In the meantime (drive way was covered in oil getting worse) I take the truck to another location where they find the oil filter is cracked from what appears to be a tool used to over tighten the filter that caused this crack in the filter. They do another oil filter replacement (we just had Bommarito do this 2 weeks before for a fee of course) and they used 5 gallons of cleaner to clean the engine sprayed with oil. Yes the oil level was low and now on my drive way. Today we still have no return calls from what appears a dealer too busy to get us back in to check the damage Bommarito caused. 4 upper management people who are unwilling to do the right thing and pick up the phone to reach out. The only other option we have to get to upper management s attention is to now show up in person, shame on them I will need a vacation day to get this addressed, apparently I need to show up in person for assistance on damage they caused. Maybe if enough people see this they will reach out and save me a trip up there with the damaged filter. Simple phone calls are not a priority for Sean or Taylor who seem to have a lack of managing a dealership. Bottom line, oil soaked drive way, damaged filter and another unnecessary bill to correct what they did wrong. Total lack of professional management to handle this situation. In case anyone is having the same issue the phone number to Corporate (I struggled to get this number) 636-391-7200. So I take my 2017 Fusion in for an oil change. They talk me into some service for 60 extra bucks. I say ok. Then they call me and try to get me for another 250. Talking about new filters and some Carbon clean on top of some engine clean that I'm already paying extra 60 bucks for. I tell them no. Then after I'm thinking to myself. My car probably needed those filters way more then my engine needed cleaning. So they are so busy trying to up sale me. That they didn't sell me what my car really needed. I purchased a new platinum Ford explore r from this dealership less than a year ago. The experience was fine. I came back recently and I am interested in buying a 2016 truck and it has me rethinking my level of loyalty to this dealership. After contacting the dealership a few times and personally taking the truck on a test drive I have been less than impressed with the Internet sales person, Les. I expressed my interest in purchasing the vehicle and posed a reasonable question and was blown off. I waited for four hours for a reply and now the dealership is closed. As someone who operates a business of my own I found this level of service and salesmanship less than satisfactory. When you have a customer that has recently purchased a new vehicle from you and now his indicated he is interested in purchasing another I think it merits the sales person's best efforts and certainly find it interesting the lack of interest or laziness shown. On February 8, 2013 - my wife and i bought a vehicle from Bommarito Ford. Our salesperson, Brad Clanney, was great. I have no issues with him whatsoever. He was great with all of the information as well as showing my wife everything about the vehicle we purchased. He really is a great guy. I recently was getting ready to register her vehicle at the DMV and found when they sent the paperwork that they did not include funding for the sales tax (which we wanted added onto our financing). This never happened. Several calls were also made to the dealership questioning this - none were ever returned. The credit department was definitely not a crowd-pleaser in this case. I was also told by the agent in the credit department that "Mr. Bommarito prefers that we have a warranty on the vehicle for the course of the loan"...which I then figured out it was not a freebie which I was led to believe, but cost $2495 which was rolled into our financing increasing our monthly payment from $262 to $303. I had no problem with the payment, but if this were disclosed to me during the execution of the financial paperwork I probably would not feel so betrayed. Obviously, I should have torn apart the paperwork at that time, but again, I do try to put trust into folks. Hey, I am not perfect, but after I found all this out I sure felt burned. As for the overall, I still think we got a good price for the vehicle. I know there are plenty of other places that want our business - I have to replace my personal vehicle in the next few months, and I plan on making sure I know everything about the loan details before I even think of putting pen to paper. April 25, 2013 - received formal apology in regards to the issues and I am very satisfied with the results. All I want is the best situation possible. I took my truck in for repairs in April 2018, after purchasing it at a different dealership a few months prior, and after purchasing a comprehensive warranty. (I had moved to STL during that window of time after the purchase) The initial experience at the dealership was fine, but they proceeded to keep my truck for 2 weeks, screwing around with the company that the warranty was with, and generally as it felt, just not having any urgency to get on top of the work. More importantly, they didn't manage my expectations well as to exactly how long the repairs were going to take, beyond these occasional text messages saying something to the effect of "it's going to take another day." After the 2 weeks had elapsed, I was notified that the truck was finished. St. Louis is not a place to go without a vehicle, and I was ready to be done with the whole process, when they sprung a $1000 bill on me, for repairs that went outside the bounds of the warranty. One would think they would manage the expectations of customers when repairs start pushing past a couple hundred bucks, but they did not. As I fumed about the additional $1000 out of my pocket for repairs that I thought the warranty was going to cover, I asked them to call me...I just wanted to be done with them and the whole experience, but I needed my truck back, and after going 2 weeks, and I just wanted to be rid of them. They assure me that someone will call me to talk about the $1000 bill ASAP, and I leave. That was on 4/5/18. It's not 4/15/18, and no call from anyone there in follow-up. Long-story short: they seem to be happy to take your money, but their follow-up and management of customer expectations is piss-poor. Welcome to St. Louis. I would not recommend this dealership. Finally - A Pleasant Experience! I used to be so turned off when buying a car but all of that has changed. Thank you Bommarito Ford and Chris Bittick for being open, honest and easy to work with. It was a no hassle, no pressure pleasant experience that should be how all dealers operate. There are three other Ford dealers closer to where I live, but trust me when I tell you that it is well worth the drive to Bommarito Ford. After researching the car I wanted for litterally two years and test driving at multiple dealerships I can attest that Bommarito Ford Hazelwood is where I will buy in the future. I was first drawn to Bommarito because they had the largest selection of Explorers in the Midwest. Chris Bittick reached out to me after I looked at some cars in his inventory on-line. I told him the options we had to have and I also shared the options I liked but didn't think I could afford. Chris quickly came up with five vehicles with various pricing/options. I had True Car and Edmonds research at my finger tips and could tell that Chis wasn't playing any silly games that give car buying a bad name. 20 minutes later we were at the dealer test driving the car while Chris stayed at the dealership and worked up an honest price for my trade-in. I like Chris but I really apprecaited the fact that he didn't feel like he had to join my wife and I on the test drive. Final negotiations went well as I got to the price that I expected after all of my research. Rob Vineyard, the fnancing person, was also very flexible. He completed the contract two different ways to make sure I got the best deal for my personal situation. From beginning to end it was a very pleasant experince. read more

I recently took my car in to have the passenger side mirror replaced. I called and made an appointment exoecting to have it replaced. They never ordered the part and told me that it was for evaluation. They then made an appointment to have the mirror replaced and told me it would be there in 2 days. Eleven days later I came back at the scheduled time and was told they forgot to order it. The third time it actually was there. I jad asked how much this would cost, after the first attempt and was told about $430 dollars. When I did get it replaced I was handed a bill for nearly $700. Turns out they only quoted me the price for the part, I am sure somewhere on the estimate form they said plus labor however when they say the price and circle the number you assume that it includes labor. They definitely said it would cost $430. If I knew labor of one hour was going to be about $250 I would have checked out other places. I will not be going back to them. read more

PLEASE READ FULLY!! I'm just gonna start off and say that I'm not trying to gain anything but just inform. Everyone of at least my personal experience with this dealership. The purchase of the car was as smooth as it could be but ever since I have had nothing but horrible things come from this dealership, and I work at a dealership myself. The car I bought was a 2014 focus with 28k miles. Had to fight the dealer to replace tires that were dry rotted and cracked, and they refused to replace a key that they had lost for my vehicle. The dealership didnt get my papers for registration out in the 30 day window and even when I did get the packet in the mail, it was missing the safety and emissions testing... After a couple of months of owning the vehicle, the transmission started slipping and was shuddering which was a known issue with the focus and fiesta. Ford Motor Company had released a TSB about the transmission and clutch so the testing shouldn't have cost anything. Turns out I get charged the diagnostic fees saying my car passed the tests but they didnt run the test they were suppose to for the tsb... I quote "We know your car is slipping and is bad but it's not bad enough". As frustrating as it was I drove my car for another two months and the transmission kept getting worse and worse until it became a legitimate safety issue with losing power and not being able to accelerate through I intersections. I stopped by and asked if they could run the TSB and they said that they might have to charge me again for the diagnostics. I left and went down the highway to Pundmann Ford and asked them about the tsb. They agreed to check it the following week and that it would be covered under the TSB campaign. I went back to Bommarito and asked for a refund which I was denied because it was up to the technician to decide what tests to run (which I am a technician for a dealership and that's not how it works). Following week I have my car tested and it failed the test misserably and as I was promised free on testing. Long story short, do yourself a favor just go to Pundmann and avoid the headache. read more

COPY of mssg. sent to Bommarito G.M. Mr. Gilbert, I'm writing you concerning the Takata airbag recall on my 2007 Milan. I bought the car from an individual Feb. 2018. Receiving a recall letter from Ford Motor Co. June 2018 I called your dealership Aug. 18 2018 and started the replacement process. I gave the vehicle details 190,000+ miles, vin # and so on. The woman muttered my mileage to herself or me several times. I was told the part had to be ordered and I would be contacted when it came in. Ok, I understood. I checked in with Bommarito Oct. 2018, no part. Another recall letter came Nov. 2018 so I called the dealership again, no part. Another recall letter Feb. 2019 so I called Bommarito again. No call or email from you. Ok, that's the way it goes. I was informed the part was available and made an appt. for March 5. The woman I spoke with, mumbling my high mileage again. I might add she seemed dismissive and condescending. I know it has high miles but it's the car I drive daily so it needed to be fixed. Fri. March 1st. my boss suggests I call and ask for a loaner. I call, and spoke with another lady or the same one, tapping her PC, asking my name, VIN#, my mileage which she repeated again and again. She then tells me Ford is not offering loaners for this recall; she should have led with that info. I lost my temper, told her terrible, terrible customer service through out!! I hung up on her. The next day my appointment was cancelled via email. I never said cancel, your shop did it on its own. The rudeness aside, this airbag situation is potentially dangerous. Playing fast and loose with my safety. Cancellation of my Bommarito appointment was the best thing that could've happened. I went to another dealership March 6, received a call the 7th, my part is ready. Friendly & professional at this dealership. I will not recommend Bommarito to anyone and will be leaving reviews online. read more
