Recently moved to Santa Monica from Orange County and was in search of a RAD & TALENTED hair babe! THANKYOU heaps to Instagram & countless hours of scrolling that lead me to Valerie & Bombshell. Valerie is so sweet, talented, and a dang hair legend! My hair color is the perfect beachy Balayage-EXACTLY what I asked for. Also shout out to the gent in the first chair, walked in and even during his own client turned to say hi and greet me. So happy to have my new hair spot in my new hometown! read more

Bombshell just might be the best salon in Santa Monica/California/The World? I've been going to Krishna for the past few months for color (alternating between highlights & balayage) & she absolutely kills it every time. In 3 hours I have perfectly blended blonde tresses that actually look like I sprouted them myself. Bridget also is a haircut queen, she seriously made sense of my crazy curly hair, which was a first. The prices are reasonable & they have a pretty flexible calendar. They also have popcorn & a massive selection of Kevin Murphy products (they make the best conditioner for color treated hair). What else could ya want? read more

Visited this cute salon for the first time and Tree did my balayage & cut. I am SO happy with how it all turned out! It's always a little nerve wracking having a new person do your hair, but she knew exactly what I was looking for and executed it perfectly. I'll definitely be back! read more

I came on a whim after seeing a new client special sign, figuring $49 for a wash/cut/blow-dry...what's the worst thing that could happen ... let it grow a couple weeks and get it cut again. The owner was very friendly and told me that the special rate applied to his more junior stylist, Lisa (I didn't actually inquire as to how much experience she had). Since my first visit, many months ago, Lisa has cut my hair twice and colored it once, making my shoulder-length, super-fine hair look great. Her cut is precise, with no little stragglers. She also got the color right the first time. Lisa is also a very nice person, making the entire experience A+++ Salon is sunny and upbeat. 2 hour parking right next door. read more

It was my first time there: kudos on punctuality The beautician who did my hair is nice, but I can tell she did not understand what I wanted: I left the place looking like the fifth Beatle: short for my likings. Sorry; I'm not going back read more

Need to give a shoutout to Nataly for incredible attention to detail and creating great dimension/shape and texture for my dark, straight hair that usually swallows up any subtleties. I have a lot of thick hair, so I was there about 2-2.5 hours. FYI, 2 hours validated parking from the salon, or 2 hours street parking in the area. read more

By far the best place I've ever been to! Mom and girlfriend get their hair done here as well and BombSHELL always takes great care of us. My girlfriend loves what Bernard does with her hair and Eric has never failed to give me EXACTLY what I want when I go in... Even when I can't verbalize it clearly he still manages to pull something awesome out of my hair with cuts and colors. The salon itself is super relaxing with local artist's work covering the walls, great products on their shelves, and good vibes all around from the staff. They've got parking validation and Peet's coffee is literally a few steps from the door so I can always get something while I'm waiting for my color to set, or for a cut. What I love most is I'm always greeted warmly and made very comfortable every time I come and always leave lovin with my hair and feeling great. Highly recommend bombSHELL to anymore looking for a fantastic salon with a loving staff and fabulous location. read more

Bombshell Salon - Eric hard at work! Love my new blonde hair!! - Hair Salons Near Me - Santa Monica, California

I'm a woman in my late twenties who has lived in LA for almost a decade - you can imagine how many salons and stylists I've seen. Finally I've found my go-to girl and my go-to salon! Bombshell, although located right on Main Street in Santa Monica, is truly a hidden gem - tucked away in a cul de sac with Brick and Mortar and Peet's coffee, you definitely have to know it's there to walk in. The salon is pristine, prices high but not outrageous, the owner is super involved (literally always there and a stylist himself), there is a friendly receptionist and best of all, only the best employees work there. Sara Fetter is my #1 - she is soft spoken, smart, kind, and funky - all traits that shine through in her work! She cuts hair patiently and precisely and has cracked the code on my frizzy previously unmanageable hair. I trust her completely and my hair never looks less than amazing - plus her cuts grow out so nicely. Anyway....I'm so happy to finally have found my hair place! I definitely recommend it! Ask for Sara :) read more

Bombshell Salon - Cut growing out so naturally! This pic was taken a month after the cut! Love the layers. Thanks, Sara! - Hair Salons Near Me - Santa Monica, California

This is the first salon I've found on the westside that checks all the boxes: price for the quality of service was on point, everyone was so friendly and clearly happy to be there, and I walked away feeling amazing. Tree was confident and made me feel so at ease, especially considering that I wanted to cut my hair quite short. Shampoo and conditioner, cut, and a blow dry were included in the price -- not always the case as I've learned the hard way. I couldn't be happier to have finally found a go-to salon. Thank you, Bombshell! read more

Bridget Lopez is a color genius - and I love her cuts too. Not only do I love my natural color and get lots of compliments but she is delightful to chat with. Coming from NYC I had a lot of trouble finding someone who I trust completely. I also have a white streak that I've had my whole life and she has blended it like only one person has in my life. Love her and my color and cut! If you're looking for someone new and your nervous like I was, I am telling you this is a woman you can trust. Oh - I've been to her 4xs now so it's not a one-off help review! The owner and other staff are so sweet - and the online booking process is so easy. For transparency I get nothing for posting this review. Just the honest truth so I can help other ladies like myself! read more

It was time for a haircut. Danielle at Bombshell had cut my hair once before and it was fine. Expensive, but fine. I assumed Danielle was following her original cut, but when I left the salon I found that there was no way for me to style my hair that seemed to work. After a couple of weeks I began to realize the cut that was bad and so I called the salon and asked them what to do. They made an appointment for me with the store owner Eric who is a color specialist who also does cuts. When I arrived I brought video of me with the bad cut. Eric's focus was on not "blaming" anyone at his salon, though he repeatedly tried to blame me. While looking at my hair he admitted "I can't seem to find the line of the cut" and yet somehow he claimed that was my hair's fault. He told me my hair was frizzy (it is, curly and frizzy) and he was going to give me a treatment (some conditioner). While his hands were in my hair and I was in the sink he tried once again to deflect blame from Danielle and I replied "my hair was fine before I came in, but after I came in I can't style it, who's fault is it then?" He leaned over me in the sink and In a threatening way and said "there's no need to be abusive." I was not being abusive I was responding to what he had said and then I decided the best option was to just not say anything to him and get through this as quickly as possible. Back at his station he used four different products and every blow drying trick he could to dry my hair. Even after all of his efforts, there was a distinct section of my hair that did not appear to match the rest of the cut, once again he blamed it on my hair and claimed there was nothing he could do to trim my hair or fix it. He did take an extra moment to make a negative comment about my color. I told him that I would not be able to blow dry my hair the way that he had done and he became very upset and said "Then maybe you shouldn't come back" and I replied "obviously I'm not going to come back to this salon." He said "Fuck you" - This was the first time swearing was introduced into the disagreement. I replied "fuck you." This is the point at which Eric tried to make the argument into a physical altercation. He told me to get my stuff and get out and I went to the back to get my sweater, came to the front and my things were gone, Eric was holding them. My items included my coat and my gloves. I reached for the coat, but he pulled back holding it out of my reach. I was able to wrestle it out of his hands. He held onto my gloves and then threw them on the floor. I asked "I'm a woman, are you trying to make this into a physical fight?" At this point Eric reached over to me the way that men do when they poke each other on the chest before a fistfight. Instead of poking me he turned his hand upside down and he flicked me on my chest touching above my left breast and below the collarbone. I was absolutely stunned. I reached down to pick up my gloves, but Eric got them first and again held them out of my reach. Eventually throwing them on the floor one more time I picked them up and let him know I would be calling the police. read more

Krishna did my balayage and I love it. I wanted something super low maintenance to give my hair some dimension and she nailed it just in time for summer. I'm a new mom so I don't have time for much of anything beauty related so I really think the balayage freshens up my look so much. read more

Eric, the owner contacted me directly and he was very kind and helpful. He had me come back in and he was able to fix my color. Came here for the first time on Thursday and met with Tree. I booked my appointment through Yelp and received a reply in less than 3 hours. So convenient and helpful when you don't have time to call. I had to reschedule and this was done fast as well. +++++ Tree was so nice and attentive to my concerns and requests. I was only there for a haircut but I hadn't cut my hair for over 6 months so it was a mess. I was worried that she would have to cut off too much to make it look nice again (as I'm trying to save out my hair) but Tree made it look so nice and healthy without cutting too much. I normally get my hair done in Sweden and always at the same place, so it was important that I met someone who really listened and also knew that she was doing - this was definitely Tree! She was so friendly and made me feel safe. I walked out feeling super satisfied with my haircut and I'm definitely going to come back soon to balayage my hair. Yes, this place is a bit pricey and I was hesitant as first as I've never paid that much for a haircut but they wash and blow-dry your hair and I'm very willing to pay extra $$$$ to walk out feeling like a hair model which is what I did. If you're looking for a hairdresser and you're, like me, hesitant because you basically trust no one with your hair lol ... do yourself a favor and book with Tree. read more

I don't wanna leave a review because Bo will get booked up LOL BUT honestly the best haircut and color I have ever received! The best!!!!

I was looking for the perfect colorist in Santa Monica and I found it!! Selena listened to my vision and walked me through the process with very realistic expectations, always trying to work with my natural hair color and complexion. I couldn't believe the change! I have attached a before/after picture for you to see it. My hair was a mess!! I tried doing some highlights and color at home but it was the worst! Selena did a super special color correction and totally nailed the hair style I was going for!! She really knows hair well, she loves her work and knows all the right techniques and products to make you look gorgeous! On top of that, Sarah did a perfect hair cut, she knew exactly how the color would work with the style she gave me beforehand. To be honest this is the first time I walk out of a salon feeling 100% satisfied. I had the best experience ever with these two ladies, super recommended!! read more

Bombshell Salon - Before/After: Haircut + Color - Hair Salons Near Me - Santa Monica, California

In April I came in for a cut, and was happy. I came back a couple of weeks ago, and this time, my hair was completely ruined. I went to the same stylist who cut my hair previously, and showed her at least 7 photos of how she cut my hair last time. I asked for exactly the same cut - long textured and layered bangs. What I came out with is basically bowl cut bangs and totally unblended layers, and way more cut off than I specifically asked for. While I did receive a full refund, I will not be able to have the haircut fixed until it grows out. My bangs are now so short, and not blended at all that it will be months before they grow out. Absolutely devastated to now have to wear a hat all summer to hide this butcher job. read more

Love love love this salon! Went here today and met my stylist Riley. She is truly a gem. The whole staff there is very sweet and the environment is very welcoming. This was my first time at bombshell salon and I'm in love! Not only with the decor and atmosphere, because it's a gorgeous salon, but because Krishna took the best care of me and made me feel 100x better about my hair cut and color. I came in with awful layers and bad color job. She sat me down and perfected my color and cut and explained how to take proper care of my hair! Turns out I've been doing the wrong thing and I'm so excited to fix it!! Cannot wait to go back for color touch ups and future cuts !! read more

I started going to this place because of my wife. She was always very happy with the way her hair was cut. Since I have longer hair I thought why not give it a try? I did and I've been coming ever since! We love Sara cutting our hair and it is always an enjoyable experience every time. I'm not one to experiment too much with my hair and appreciate the consistency of the cut. I am happy to have found a place both my wife and I enjoy going to. read more

I am not one to write 2x about the same salon, unless I feel 2 stylists and the salon are really worth it. Bombshell salon is probably the number 1 salon on the West Side. Bridgett is excellent as a stylist and now Joseph is tops as well. I already wrote about how amazing Bridget is and now it's Joseph's turn. I have never seen someone who takes his craft and then brings it all the way to the next level. I can easily write a book about how much I love this guy, his work and his awesome temperament, but I will leave it to this review. Thank you so very much Bombshell for hiring people at the top of their game!! read more

I have always passed by this salon and decided to try it out. I got my roots, balayage and blowdry done by Krishna and so excited I found her. She was so professional and I have gotten so many compliments from people that see me on the street. My hair is now so rich and full of life! read more

Bernard is a hair genius! I am so happy he came to BombShell Salon because the place is fantastic! First point- the hair salon is adorable... second- they validate for the parking lot, which makes parking a breeze! Third-there's a Peet's coffee and a Ben and Jerry's next door... so whatever you fancy, it's right there and you can sip on your latte or milkshake while having Bernard make you look like a movie star! LOVE IT! Seriously, Bernard knows hair. I followed him from his previous place and he did not disappoint! I went in with dreary "blah" hair and came out with a cut I love and a style that screams "Va va voom!" Bernard is a hair expert when it comes to thick wavy hair- he always manages to turn my hair into something worthy of a night out! He is so nice, very professional and completely the kind of guy you want to trust your hair with. I would be floored if someone came out of Bernard's chair not loving his work! If you're a new client they are offering a $45 special - which is insane considering the quality of the cut you're going to get. Who wouldn't love a discount on a fabulous haircut? That's like $10 bucks more than just having DryBar blow out your hair! This salon is wonderful, I have nothing but the very best things to say about both the salon and Bernard! I was wondering why they named it BombShell... but now I know why. Because when you walk out of there you feel like one! Now if only they could figure out how to give you the killer body to go with the hair in a single session... hmmm.... read more

I would give this place a zero if I could! I had a bad haircut experience with them and at first I wasn't not even too upset because the hair dresser is a nice person. I need to mention, this is my first time ever to complain about a haircut or felt the need to get it fixed so badly. Which I did somewhere else. They were able to fix the problems and I was able to feel good about my hair again. Some of you may know how horrible and sensitive it is to get a bad haircut right! Since I had to spend more time and money for another haircut, I called bomb shell to request a refund. I tried to be nice about it because I didn't want to judge by just one haircut. But the owner didn't feel that they should give a refund. His reasoning was that I should have gone back and let them fix the hair cut. Everyone, please try to relate with me. If you took your car somewhere for a paint job and did a horrible job, would you go back to them and have then paint it again? So of course I was not comfortable or confident to go back to get it fixed. They did not offer a refund or even partial refund, and I will never be going back there again. Such horrible experience that I feel the need to write my first yelp review! read more

I've always had a difficult time finding a hair salon that is comparable to the one I go to in Korea. After being referred here by a friend, I have to say that Eric and Bernard are the best!!!! I adore this salon and have to say it's better than any place I've been back home. read more

I had asked my fiancé to cut my hair...wait for it ::long pause::...I KNOW!! What was I thinking right?! I needed at LEAST a trim and he was right here, so I said why not?! Seemed like a GREAT idea at the time until he started cutting. We didn't even watch any YouTube videos beforehand. He went to go find scissors and started chopping ::gasp!:: Fast forward to a couple hours later and an uneven blunt haircut...He's a master at everything, so I thought he'd be able to pull this cut off ::shrugs shoulders:: but guess I was wrong...so SO wrong... Who was my saving grace you ask??? Krishna at Bombshell Salon!! I've been to many salons around LA and have never been too impressed with their cuts. Krishna took the time to hear out what my end goal was (which was to make sure it didn't look like my fiancé had just chopped off my hair). Her techniques were different and unlike most stylists I've been to. And just like that...my hair feels A.MAZ.ING. She trimmed, added subtle layers and texturized. Omg did it make a difference after all that! Can we say volume and bounce?! SO happy Krishna was available to take me in and fix my fiancé-blunt-cut. I love him so and it was funny at the time, but I will never EVER ask him to cut my hair again haha. I highly recommend Krisha at Bombshell. Let her be your saving grace!! read more

I was trying to find a salon in the neighborhood, and read and read (maybe over-read) reviews on Yelp. I saw Bombshell Salon, and decided to give it a try. The website seemed friendly, what they had to say about themselves, and when I called and the Owner answered.. I wasn't put off for someone else to take care of me .. but he actually helped me on the spot! I saw Gwen..Gwen! What a great stylist.. Okay, so I have long dark hair with colors of all kinds from other color jobs and the sun. Gwen did such a fantastic job of tempering the color from roots to tips, and it all looks so natural and not obvious that I had my roots done. Also I love long layers.. Gwen took the time to care for each layer each strand, and each length. I was so impressed!!! On top of that, the atmosphere was great -- and I'm very happy. I think I not only found my neighborhood salon, but a salon that is worth the visit! read more

I've been seeing Sara for six months now for cuts and color. She has perfectly honed my bob into precision amazingness (I always get compliments on my hair) and we have colored/highlighted my hair into LA blondiness. She is warm, caring, and fun to be around for the 1-2 hours I in the salon. I highly recommend Sara! Having been new to LA, it took me a while to find someone as perfectly suited to me as sara... And I'm really picky. Now, I recommend everyone to Sara, and even my boyfriend goes to her! As if that weren't enough, the salon is a lot of fun. Great tunes, energetic vibe, and the salon is always immaculately clean. I never see one wisp of hair on the floor. The owner, Eric, has a great personality and is warm and friendly with everyone.
