She went above and beyond with all the little details, from the party decor to the special birthday greeting on the TV screen. Those thoughtful touches made the celebration feel extra special! And thank you to our server, David, for being so attentive and making sure all of our orders were taken care of. The entire experience was wonderful from start to finish, and I truly couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate my husband's birthday. Thank you again, Lorena and David! We all had an absolute blast and made some wonderful memories!

Upon entry you noticed that there is a short line to get Elaine. However, that is not what the line is for. The line is for customers to scan the QR code to get on the waitlist for a lane. They have frequent updates on the waitlist and it's a very smooth process. It took us about 15 to 20 minutes to wait for our lane. I love the updated look at this bowling alley. They have really bright bowling balls that adds to the flavor of excitement here. The lighting is a bit dim, but it's just bright enough to be able to enjoy the upgrades and everything happening in the place. There is a bar and bistro type restaurant where you may order food and drinks. When we got our Layne, it was very clean and comfortable. The seating was modern and not rundown. Our shoes were very good and decent and they were not old and ragged. The staff here seems to really be happy to work here and they also have servers that come to your bowling lane so that you may order items from that person as well. The games are really cool and they have several different things that you can choose from to make the experience special. There are some serious boulders here though. We noticed a lot of people had their own balls, bowling shirts, bowling shoes, and special cases for their equipment. Don't let that intimidate you because this is still a nice family friendly fun place to come. I like that they have really cool music selection and they go through all of the different decades of music to keep everybody satisfied. I didn't visit the restroom so I'm not sure how clean it was. I did really appreciate the arcade space because they seem to have a lot of nice new games for people who want to do that. Overall, we will return and I really like the Lucky Strike remodel.

On the party front, this is a great spot for them. You can rent the whole space, which includes pool tables, air hockey, and a Nintendo Switch along with the bowling lanes. It's located on the SDSU campus, a great place for college students to hang out. There is no food available for sale in the bowling alley, but there is a restaurant next door, and you can go in and out, which is probably why they do it this way. I likely would have purchased something if there was something at the alley, but I didn't and felt like that was lost opportunity for the bowling alley to make more money. It's nice though that the bowling alley isn't a money grab. What I also loved about this place is that they don't have an arcade, which we all know definitely is a money grab that we have to budget for when taking kids to any other bowling establishment. They instead have pool tables, air hockey, ping pong, and a TV that can hook up to your Nintendo switch. It's nice that we can just enjoy a few games of bowling and then spend some mostly screen free time with friends. There is paid, 1 hour validated parking at the Trader Joe's nearby. It was an easy walk to Aztec Lanes.

The place looks great, and if you book two lanes, you get a semi-private booth that makes you feel way more VIP than your bowling score probably deserves. One thing to know: the no outside food or drink policy is enforced with the enthusiasm of airport security. I'm talking employee walking around checking to see if anyone is eating or drinking anything that wasn't ordered on-site. Don't even think about bringing in your emotional support water bottle. The funny part is they have tablets at every booth so you can order without bothering anyone...except our server wanted us to order directly through them anyway. So the tablet mostly served as a high-tech menu. We had a great time. The atmosphere is lively, the setup is awesome for groups, and I'd happily come back--just hydrated in advance.

He recommended Don Julio 1942 tequila without any info of the charge. The drink wasn't listed on their menu. When our bill arrived the drinks were $40.50 and $38.50 along with our food! We were shocked and felt ripped off! I've never paid $40 for a Margarita! We discussed with assistant manager and all he did after 2 conversations was credit us for a couple apps. Be careful here of up-charging and upselling! And...2 friends brought in water but others weren't allowed...be consistent! Lucky Strike wasn't for me...

Only 6 lanes, so it's nice and cozy, doesn't get too loud. The strawberries and cream cocktail is a MUST try, so good. But honestly the star of the night was the $5 pound of fries. You have to be within 7 days of your requested reservation date so as soon as I was closer I set up a reservation through Open Table. They do require a deposit which was fine because it made sure that we had the lanes needed for our party. I actually ended up calling the Tavern and Bowl to see if they had any earlier reservations and they told me if the person who requested an earlier time didn't pay the deposit I'd get the time slot. I am so lucky because these people didn't pay their deposit and we got the time and the lane. Cute thing, you can actually have kids come too, my niece who is 5 got to come along and they had a little device for her so she can push the ball, she ended up beating me. Everyone was so kind and service was so smooth and efficient, we got to bring donuts for our party and my husband and I ordered the carnitas nachos, they were delicious. Seriously such a great time, obviously this is before the Padres season so we lucked out on parking but this is a great place to host birthday parties. Thank you again for letting us have such a great time!
