We both had the erdbeer white chocolate-strawberry dessert ... delicious. We had a local bottle of wine recommended by Claudia, our waitress! Great rec! She did a great job! Fantastic place, fantastic views... The MAJOR problem was we are from the US. The restaurant's credit card machine doesn't work on cards from the US. Apparently, cards from Switzerland don't work either! A call to the owner solved nothing. They offered to wait while I went to an ATM to get cash. Not a good solution when I'm in a foreign country with no familiar banks within 100 kms! Fortunately, I had enough Euros to cover the tab, with a few to spare. They obviously knew we were from the US when we walked in, but waited until the the bill was presented to tell us about the issue with the credit card reader. A perfect experience ruined in the last 15 minutes. What a shame. REALLY bad form! We won't go back, and recommend all from the US avoid the restaurant (unless you bring cash to cover the bill). We planned on coming back to stay at the hotel, those plans canceled too!

Well, not one to ignore a new dish to try, I checked every restaurant in the area and decided the best ones would be here (or so I'd hoped). As a singleton, I got seated with a table that included a couple from Swabian area and a local gent that spends half his year in Spain. It was nice to have people to chat with and they were very patient with my German (as most Germans are). I ordered the Wiener schnitzel and an Augustin Dunkel to start. The beer was very good and the massive fresh schnitzel was equally so. I wasn't sure I'd have room for dessert, but as I was on a mission that I could not fail... I ordered the small potion of Kaiserschmarrn. It was still quite generous and it's times like these another dining partner would be helpful. They were little fluffy pillows of pancake, lightly dusted with powdered sugar with plump raisins in and around each pillow. There was a small dessert glad of homemade applesauce that was so thick. It reminded me of a good apple butter. There were also some pecans livers on the plate and in the applesauce.. I was very full and happily satisfied by the end of the meal. Service was excellent and swift. This is definitely one of the more traditional restaurants that you'll find here in the area and I highly recommend a meal here or at least, dessert.

The setting is wonderful, overlooking green fields and Lake Constance. We had heavy rain during dinner, so the doors to the outside patio had to be closed.
