So I go there about 2 times a week to eat breakfast and one morning I got the Cajun chicken biscuit and fries. The biscuit was very bad because the bread was crumbly and the chicken was raw in the middle and also customer service was terrible. Then recently I got the same thing I got before and the chicken tasted like it was microwaved instead of freshly cooked and the fries had a ton of seasoning and it tasted like the dropped the whole seasoning in the fries it was way to salty and I recommend going to the one in siler city it is way better than the one here in asheboro and also the outside of the restaurant in asheboro there is bricks near the drive thur that has been siting there for about 2 week and still is not fixed. I've eaten Bojangles food occasionally since the early 80s and have had an overall good experience until now. Bojangles in Candler, NC at 1507 Smokey Park Hwy, Candler, NC has become an undesirable place to go. The last few times I've been there the service was slow at best, my orders were not what I ordered, I didn't notice until I got home which is 20 minutes away. The food was cold and the fries were like leather that had laid under a heat lamp for hours on end. The first time this happened I thought maybe it was me, because of a long work day and I was just tired and irritable, so a week later I went back, this time I was in a very good mood, until I got home and had only 3/4 of my order. Ok, we all make mistakes occasionally and I figured I didn't make my order clear enough. I would have went back but the Bojangles in question doesn't give a receipt unless it's asked for. That's been my experience anyways. So I, being forgiving to certain things, go back to get more punishment. Today's order was 2 breast and wing dinners with fixings and 2 orders of fries. So before I leave the parking lot to go home, I check the bag and notice a dinner box and a snack box. Without looking further I went back inside to get a correction, well it seems the guy who packed the meals took it upon himself to pack one order in a snack box and place the side fixings in the bottom of a paper bag along with one biscuit and two orders of cold fries on the top. I thought Bojangles use certain boxes for certain types of orders, I didn't realize they used whatever they felt like using. I'm done with that location. Upper management needs to step in and step up, or close that location. Next time I will try the one on 270 Smokey Park Hwy Asheville, NC to see if they are any better. I like Bojangles food occasionally, but I will not deal with inadequate service from their restaurant, or any other as far as that goes. The female employee also forgot to give us cups so as we were waiting we asked for them and proceeded to go to the drink machine. The machine has visible MOLD in the ice dispenser ! We left our cups there and decided not to get a drink. There was one young man there who seemed to be working (dark skin with Locs) but the others were completely lackadaisical! It was a slow Sunday and me and my girlfriend were just taking it easy before she had to go to work. She works for the local sheriffs department and works 12hr shifts She had to go in at 5:30PM and we talked about it and she was starving for a chicken biscuit before going in. She thought that there wasn't going to be anywhere to go to get that at 3PM, and everywhere would be closed. I went through the list of places to get a biscuit and everyone was closed already except for Bojangles. Well we decided to get ready and head out to grab one to bring home before she got ready for work. We got there at about 3:30-3:40 and ordered a Cajun filet biscuit as well as two supreme combos, one for me and one for her to snack on throughout the night at work. We paid and there were only 2 vehicles in line in front of us, but later realized that there were already 2 more vehicles sitting to side waiting on there food. We then we're sent to wait on the side as well as soon as we paid and weren't even offered our drinks or anything before hand. It's important to note that there were 5-6 plus employees in the kitchen, not to mention the manager and assistant manager and the staff packing peoples food up around front. After sitting there for 20min the lady tried bringing us food twice and both times it was nowhere near what we ordered and we told them what it was supposed to be. After 40 minutes we still didn't have food and we had ran out of time to wait or she wasn't going to have time to get ready for work and head out. They walked out one more time and it was only part of our order (the two supreme combos only, still no biscuit or drinks) at this point we said that we needed at least a refund because we didn't have time to wait any further. We went in and the manager and assistant manager were just sitting at a booth talking and not working on getting anything taken care of. We told him the problem and he just rolled his eyes and got up to give us a refund. He said we would have it in a few days and we'd have to let him know if we failed to receive it. He then proceeded to put the bag with the partial order back at the window to give out to someone else (which I'm almost certain that by the health department you can't reserve food that came out of behind the counter, let alone left the building.... But appeared to be heading back out to the next unsuspecting customer that ordered that...) I told him that I guessed we would have to try and find another drive through to get my gf something to eat before going into work and instead of offering us the partial order that was getting sent back out, to try and make anything right, or at least our drinks. He simply stated ' well I hope you can' and we left. So after an hour almost of trying to get a simple drive through order... my gf had to rush home to get ready for work and ended up going to work a 12hr shift at the sheriffs department without eating and is unlikely to have time to go get anything. I've ate at a lot of Bojangles over the years and even at this one without too many problems before, but I'll never be back into this one at this point. I was craving Bojangles so I pulled into the drive thru in Asheboro and it was to the street however I decided to wait. After a few minutes of waiting I decided to go in. I waited a few minutes and no one took my order, I figured everyone was too busy, no problem. While waiting to place my order I overheard a man at the counter simply ask for his coffee refill when he let the associate know that he wanted a regular coffee and not a large, the associate behind the counter got loud and rude and stated: "ok so do you want a small, medium or large?" While rolling his eyes. The customer stated that he would just take whatever he had already started to make. Then the associate said with a loud voice, "I'm about to start matching energies around here." At that moment I decided to take my money elsewhere. I have gone to many Bojangles throughout North Carolina BUT, this Boj. in Asheboro on Dixie Drive has got to have the slowest damn drive through of any I have ever visited. I have left in line, making note of the car in front, and then gone to another surrounding drive through restaurant, gotten my food, and the car ahead of me at Boj isn't even at the "place your order" screen yet. No specific day or time of the week.... it has been like this in Asheboro for years. I have even written corporate in the past about this. Useless.... never heard a response what so ever. This is my "go-to" meal at my two local restaurants. The meal was edible but not good. The gravy was like water and the sausage patty over cooked. Most Bojangles serve up thick gravy. It's very good. Not this store. You get the watered down version. Giving this two starts because the Bo rounds were hot and delicious. The Diet Pepsi was tasted weird so I'm guessing it was running out of syrup. This Bojangles messed up a bit. We visited around 10:30 AM on a Wednesday. The drive thru and employee was quick taking our order, and overall things started smooth. We had to pull up and wait a minute for our two orders of chicken supremes, which was fine, knowing they would be hot and fresh. Once we got our hands on them, though, we opened the boxes and found that there was absolutely no sign of chicken. But... we still waited for chicken to be cooked, so why was there no chicken, and only the fries and biscuits? On top of that, the grits we got were cold, with the consistency of modeling clay. We went inside to fix this, and the employees just stared at us, like we told them their great grandmother's vase was broken and we swore the pet hamster did it. Now we had to wait another 5 minutes to actually receive our chicken. Turns out, it was nicely cooked tender, and everything else was fine, minus the clay and the fries which are now crunchy twigs from waiting so long. All right. read more
