I've been a fan of Boiling Point for a while, but my recent to-go order was a massive disappointment. For the price they charge, you expect consistency, but this felt like a completely different restaurant. The Main Issues: Shrunken Portions: The container was barely 2/3 full. I'm not sure if they're cutting corners or just being careless, but it's significantly less food than what I used to get. Cold on Arrival: The soup was lukewarm at best. Having to reheat "Boiling" Point soup at home defeats the purpose of ordering out. Price vs. Quality: It's become way too expensive for the low quality I received today. I honestly have to wonder if there's been a change in ownership or management recently because the standards have clearly dropped. I won't be rushing back anytime soon. read more

Located in a large plaza with plenty of parking. The parking area needs much maintenance as the roads are uneven and damage. This location has good amount of seats, feels smaller than other locations. I love the concept of having hot soupy food for cold days and this really hits the spot. Each order is portioned to a personalize size pot, plenty of flavor to choose from. Each pot flavors contain different ingredient to match the taste of the meal. I always go with the Korean Bean Paste. It also remains the hot temperature with the fire they have underneath. Staff was a little slow, very little customer service and hardly see them around. We was at this Restaurant around 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2026 . Walking in to restaurant there were like four tables were occupied and there about six or seven tables were empty and the waiter told us that we have to sign in and wait for approximately 20 minutes, I asked him why there were many tables are empty. This location specifically I prefer as it is not as busy as the Rowland Heights location. One of my top choices to go to or recommend to friends when visiting the area. Can never go wrong with the spicy beef option! But there are also other flavors like tomato, curry, lamb. During lunch you can also get their meal with a green or black tea and you can also upgrade the drink to large for an additional fee. Totally worth! Called on the phone before we got here, we have 9 people. Is the wait going to be long? They said 15mins. We drove and got there in 15 mins, we still had to wait 30 mins. Finally we got seated, but they seemed still so confused. We did not get enough menu so we all were sharing or using our QR code. The table was not wiped off cleanly, so we had to ask for a towel. The staff came back quickly to order, we had to say give us 5 mins. I finally decided on the Beef Hot Soup Napa, Vermicelli, Sliced Beef, Corn, Seafood Mushroom, Tomato, Firm Tofu, Tempura, Meat Ball (Pork), Fish Cake, Fried Tofu Skin, Imitation Crab Stick, Green Onion, Cilantro. And an extra side of beef. The food was ok. I had to ask for more soup since the noodles soaked up the original soup. We had to keep asking for water, soup, etc. or adjust the fire. Even the drink was wrong--I asked for Winter Melon Tea and received Green Tea instead. While the staff corrected the food when I pointed it out, having every single part of my order messed up felt like more than just a simple mistake. We went to the one in Chino at around 8pm and the wait was 1 hour long. We decided to just call this branch and see how long the wait was. They told us "just come in." Thankfully by the time we arrive, they sat us down immediately. There was absolutely no wait and they were closing soon. I always love Boiling Point. This time I just went simple and basic with just the meat and rice. It is simple, the way they make the gravy rice but it was extremely delicious for me. Regardless of how delicious it was, I wished I would've just ordered plain rice and used their sauce. Their garlic sauce is so tasty, I was tempted to buy the sauce home and just eat it with any meat that I cook at home but I refrained myself from doing it so I can come back again next time . We decided to try the Boiling Point in Hacienda Heights because we always go to the one in Rowland Heights and it's so crowded there. I didn't know that this is the first Boiling Point that was opened in 2004 in Hacienda Heights, California until I saw their timeline on the wall. We got there around 12:35 p.m. and surprisingly we got seated at around 12:45 p.m. However, after we placed the orders, we had been waiting so long for our food and we even asked the servers and he apologized that they were understaffed and only 2 people working in the kitchen that day. They gave us rice and drinks first but the rice was getting cold because our food didn't come until 1:20 p.m. (So we waited about 30 minutes for our food) Not sure because they knew that we were waiting for so long so they gave us a generous portion of beef. We ordered the house special hot soup, milk cream curry hot soup, and beef hot soup. We enjoyed them all. The winter melon drinks were refreshing and not too sweet. Came here on a Saturday night with a group of 4. We were slightly confused if they were open as their exterior is very dark and seemed like it was closed down. They did have an open sign that's dimly lit so definitely a confusing front. We got seated pretty quickly but wasn't given a menu. Took us a while to notice that the menu is hanging underneath the tables via QR Code. Personally not a good impression from that. The waitress was very quick to try and take our order which we were slow as we didn't notice the menus. We kept telling her five minutes but she'd come back after a minute later. Finally got our order and noticed the quality of the meal isn't the same as back when they were really popular. Seems like they shifted their focus on more so selling their products instead of maintaining quality of ingredients. You could tell the meats were low quality and it didn't help that they're overcooked. You only get one quail egg and other ingredients were limited to 1. You don't get the nice lemon chia cup anymore and instead get their small prepackaged size of what they're trying to sell. Lemon qq konjac. Not bad but definitely not as good as their palette cleanser. Also noticed their service was horrible. We had to ask for water and then we'd have to constantly ask for a refill. Didn't refill out soup so one of ours was burning. They could have at least turned off our fire. Overall I don't think Id come back given how much the quality and service has gone down. read more

It's been quite some time since I last ate at Boiling Point. During my recent visit, I was surprised to see improvements to the hot pot compared to the last time I came here. My usual favorite is the beef hot pot. I get the mild version just because I love dipping the contents in the spicy bean paste that they have. There were good chunks of meat and plentiful of veges, yum! Unfortunately, their customer service has not really changed and is still a bit lacking. When I had initially come in to put my name down and tried to get the staff's attention, they would not acknowledge me even though we made eye contact. She first would order the mushroom vegetables but now I got her to order the beef which includes some veggies but at least she's getting some proteins. I like getting the medium spicy lamb and I'll eat the tiny corn on the cob my mom gets. During lunch time they offer winter melon tea or green tea. I've visited this location twice already and overall I'd say it's decent. The staff is attentive, and the ambiance is ok. The food is pretty darn good. I must say that overall my husband and I enjoyed our hot pots. I feel it was better the second time around after knowing that they do spice up their caldos (soups). The serving is generous & they go around checking to see if you'd like more broth added. I found it interesting that they gave us the vermicelli noodles still in the package the second time around. The first time they brought it served on a bowl. In my first visit I asked the server (did not know English well) if they had lemonade to which she said, Yes. I ordered one & it was not what I expected. It was a tea instead & it tasted bitter. I did not like it, & another thing I don't like is the bathroom here. You guys need to scrub the floors in there. Which was nice, but I also notice we didn't have any spoon to use so I called out to the only one waitress. What she said was kindly of rude instead of saying sorry they are in wash or something but she said "We don't have anything" in Chinese. Kind of rude... its not my problem as customers you don't have spoons you should be on task with your dishes or utensils. Being treated rudely response with just asking if you guys have a spoon that's was unacceptable. I also saw other customers trying to get help from servers. We ended up try to get napkins , condiments and menus ourselves. The servers weren't deserved the tip which I gave. It was around 4pm, and there were only 4 tables with the customers. It was pretty much empty when I was there. I couldn't imagine when they were busy. It must be a nightmare to get the servers to help. For the food, it was too sour for my taste. There were two shrimps on my soup. The shrimps were unpeeled. My fingers were almost burnt when to try to peel them, or maybe the Boiling Point expected me to eat shrimps with the shells. I could eat deep-fried shrimps with the shells but not boiled. Once the pot comes, you can make your sauce with the items on the table. They'll fire up the box, but you can tell them to stop it any time, or just keep going at it and extra soup is free.
