Massive variety at this little shop! Walk a bit down Front St to find it, and wander in to find a large selection of artisan items from vendors local and beyond. The owner is often there and is very bubbly and knowledgeable. She can guide you towards the right gift options with ease, but if you're just there to browse and see what catches your eyes, it can come across as a bit much. It's a smaller shop, but it's packed full of unique finds! read more

Boho Chic offers an enjoyable and safe shopping experience. The owner is absolutely lovely, welcoming, knowledgable and makes you want to come back! The shop has all kinds of wonderful goodies from beautiful clothes, to natural face/body products, to unique handcrafted gifts. There are also many eco-friendly products for the environmentally conscious person! It's been one of my favorite places to buy gifts for others (and for myself on occasion). This shop is chocked full of one of a kind art by local craftspeople. The owner greets guests as you enter with a general request to use the available hand sanitizer and mask if you need one. Carrie was fabulous. I loved her commitment to supporting locals artisans and sustainably sourced, eco-conscious products. There is a unique collection of fun gifts there. It felt good combining my respect for her mission with sating the tiny notebook need in my life. This store really adds to the shopping experience of a surprisingly charming town. We were very pleased by the number of shops and the overall feel of Ballston Spa and it's proximity to Saratoga. God bless you, Carrie, for giving us the Treasures at 60 West Ave. tip. We feature New York State Artisans in our shop that produce goods including soy candles, small reclaimed wooden housewares, jewelry, hand painted wine glasses, pottery, fine art, photography, all natural body care, knitted accessories, tea towels, small furniture, hair accessories and more. We also focus on carrying lines that pay it forward, donating proceeds to education of underprivileged children or the education of women in India and Africa. We strive to carry mostly USA made items and even we produce items for sale on the floor. Other products featured are homemade soaps, greeting cards, t-shirts, scarves, jewelry wooden housewares and Fair-trade companies. We strive to carry socially conscious and eco-friendly products to promote sustainable living. It is a one-of-a-kind shopping experience and we are proud to be located at 90 Front Street Ballston Spa!

Meet the Business Owner: Carrie V.

Originally from Syracuse, NY, I moved to the Albany area in 2007 for an Engineering job with NYS. After roughly 8 years with the State of NY, and a previous 9 years as an Engineer with Onondaga County, I decided to pursue my dreams of opening my own business! With a passion for art and fashion, my husband and I set off to open a bohemian inspired store, with a warm, up-cycled shabby chic interior. Boho Chic Boutique is a new venture for both my husband and I and we are proud to be open for business in the Village of Waterford, New York, We met here 5 years ago and have been happily married since August 2013. Our goal is to provide unique items including clothing and accessories, jewelry, candles, greeting cards, reclaimed wooden housewares and re-purposed furniture. We represent artists from near and far, and look to continuously seek out new artists and product lines. Come on in an enjoy the stress free shopping environment Boho Chic strives to provide!

Imagining it would be staggeringly expensive, particularly since this shop has no competition in the Capital Region, I was floored by how reasonable the costs were. The turnaround was a month, which factoring the need to order parts I thought was quite reasonable. Picking up the lamp I was quite pleased by how it turned out. A total win. The downside (from my personal convenience) was that it required a long round trip (twice) to get the project done. I was simply thrilled, however, to find the shop in a feasible proximity. The two times I have been there I have found parking immediately in front of the store, despite the rest of the downtown being densely packed (quite the luck since a pub is next door.) Driving in from the Northway the shop is on the other side of the street, and in light of dense and aggressive traffic finding the opportunity to turn around is challenging. This shop is a seriously nice find. Were I at a point in life where I didn't have a house packed full, I might have looked at the many antiques for sale (Very late 19th/early 20th century) I have another lamp I need to get rewired, but I think I'll wait till Spring; driving into Ballston Spa while scenic, is a bear.

We came here on a crisp fall afternoon expecting to have a good time. Sadly, it started to rain…read morepart-way through and that derailed our plans. First and foremost, they are a garden center and sell plants and other such things. They also sell pumpkins in various sizes, and some by weight, and we purchased a couple to carve up ("You didn't tell me you were going to kill it!") They also had lots of activities for the kids. There were at least a half-dozen wooden picture boards with holes cut out for kids to put their heads through and parents to take pictures. I remember Peanuts, Bluey, Spiderman and Friends, Monsters, etc. They also had a maze of sorts constructed of hay bales (they were only stacked 2-3 high so parents could keep in eye contact. They had a train ride that circled the area. They had a larger corn maze geared more for parents. They had a really long darkened indoor display of at least 100 artificial pumpkins carved into various faces and scenes and lit with Christmas lights. That was cool. And they had a large model train exhibit detailed with lots of fun toys and buildings for kids. That's the good part. The bad part is that because of the rain the outdoor train wasn't running (thankfully, they refunded our tickets which are only good on the day purchased). The rain also made exploring the outdoor activities wet and a bit tiresome. We had to skip some completely. Inside, the train layout consisting of about a half-dozen loops of G scale track and various scenes (adventure, pirates, castles, Star Wars, Harry Potter, amusement park, etc.) were nice to look at but only one engine was running despite at least four loops of track. Why weren't the other trains running? They had food for sale including baked goods and hot items like hot dogs and coffee. My cookie was extremely dry as if they had baked it a week before. But, it wasn't terribly expensive so that was nice. Some of the things I listed above are free, and some have an extra cost attached. So, plan accordingly. Did we have a good time? Um, sort of. But we made the best of it despite the bad weather. On a nice day, it would have been a ton of fun so we will have to return in the future.

While we did not always follow his lead, he kept in mind my concepts (spa like he kept calling it) and worked with us down to the vent cover. We are grateful for his knowledge and patience. The first is simple and contemporary, the second involved an intricate pattern of colorful tiles forming wall-size images. Sara worked with us on the design, asking many questions to understand our aesthetic aims and practical needs, and offering a variety of options for us to choose among to achieve our goals. She also provided a variety of very effective ideas and solutions, considering the physical constraints of the (relatively small) spaces, to ensure the best use of spaces and to create a very open feel in both bathrooms, all in a cost-effective manner. The actual construction was done in an extremely professional manner by workers who were not only highly-skilled but also friendly, considerate of our needs, and responsive to our questions and concerns as the projects progressed. Particularly impressive, amazing really, was the tile work performed by Cliff. The colorful bathroom involved laying more than 1,000 tiles, and cutting more than 100 tiles to create the intricate design. It also involved the fitting of the many tiles to very close tolerance specifications. Cliff was both masterful and highly conscientious in completing this tile work. The result is stunning. In addition, along the way in both bathrooms, specific questions arose about alternative approaches to implementing features of the design. Cliff identified and raised these questions for us to think about, and he offered aesthetically pleasing solutions. In short, Cliff's work was thoughtful, technically masterful, and informed by his strong sense of aesthetic beauty. We are most impressed by Kitchen and Bath World for their general approach, their implementation, and the final product in renovating both bathrooms. Kitchen and Bath World has our highest recommendation.
