I'm a big fan of green areas in a city. It's important to have a place to feel free and breath fresh and crispy air whilst admiring lush greenness...
I went to visit a friend in Tallaght and we were up for a walk with the dog. I wasn't aware of this big park called Dodder Valley located in Kiltipper (within the bigger district of Dublin 24). I could see the place is mainly known by locals and I was glad by the peace the area provides.
Then you need to keep going ahead about 3 kms until Glenasmole.
If you pass Dodder's Valley entrance, you'll see a gate that's kept closed but you can open it and find a green field. This big area it's Bohernabreena. It's so nice to explore the area, see locals, and even see some cattle, sheep (really) and deers.
There are also 2 reservoirs - Bohernabreena Waterworks, that supply 35,000 households, managed by Dublin City Council and some people (with permits) are allowed to fish brown trouts.
Public walking routes and car park are available.
This place was a great find! read more
