The temp was 50 so It was lovely and nippy. As we arrived, ample parking with two lots. We walked toward the water and were chased by ducks and geese. I didn't know that these species could actually be aggressive, perhaps they have been domesticated and were expecting food. We ran! Huge grassy area near the parking lot and trail begins. Great for walking or running and each where you turn is beautiful with little waterfalls and the murmuring sound of water trickling nearby. Half the lake is lined with gorgeous birch trees which is my favorite. Initially came here to get exercise, fresh air and location scouting. I'm a freelance photographer and where I travel I meet my clients. This was one of the picturesque places. I've come back twice here on different seasons. It's lovely and if your near jessheim and it's not winter, many spots for a lovely picnic.

Earlier it went boat to the city center in the hot season, but the boats are now only Queen Kaia and Bydgøynes, and the old shipping pier is now used by some younger swimmers to jump from. Just off the beach area's sculpture Large Arch by Henry Moore and Ikaros by Anne Sofie Døhlen. Many available picnic tables and grilling areas. Norwegians like to bring their own disposable grills and lawn chairs to relax. Pets are allowed at the beach. Hungry and don't want to grill out or picnic? There is Hukodden Beach Restaurant in the area. It is clean and lovely view of the fjords and sailing boats. Overall a great experience.
