This is a nice lake with a running trail all the way around it. There are benches and picnic tables for lunch, and places to go swimming. A small concession stand is available for food. It's easy to get here on the T!

What an incredible space not far from Stockholm, you can easily pack some food, swim gear and spend the entire day here! Clean restrooms, water stations, sand and benches scattered throughout the area. The entire loop around the lake is about 3.2 km(over 2miles) and it's a peaceful stroll. read more

Love this place! I come here for skiing once the snow falls, and the ski tracks are always well prepped here. Best to avoid during the weekend as it gets packed then. If you're like me and want to find some peace and quiet, you find solace in the afternoon/evening during the weekdays when there's fewer people there. The ski tracks are well lit once the sun goes down, so no need to worry about it being dark. read more

Easy access from Oslo to this beautiful place. Norwergians are indeed sporty, we saw many people walking, swimming and running there. We bought a disposable BBQ at the supermarket (this is a must-do!!) and had lunch there, amazing! It is also a very clean place. read more

Sognsvann has different shades of beauty at every time of the year. There are bathrooms and a little kiosk that is occasionally open. Avoid on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The masses of people ruin the natural majesty. read more

Beautiful lake to visit in Oslo. It reminded me of the Finger Lakes in upstate NY which definitely has a special place in my heart. I came during the end of April when it was still a bit chilly with cloudy skies. This is a very easy trail with almost no elevation change and a clear paved path around the lake. It was a nice change from the city where I can hear myself think and get a nice walk in. I don't know how busy it gets in the summer but there were very few people when I went. read more

To get there the easiest is to go to Storo and take the bus 56 direction "Solemskogen" and get off at "Akebakken" which is 7minutes away. The normal…read morerecommend route to the viewing point is only about 30 mins, this is good BUT if you want a long scenic and BEAUTIFUL WALK just follow the path straight up from where you get off the metro in vettakollen and you will walk for about 20 minutes- past the normal route on your right- and you'll see a path at the top. If you follow this and keep going 'right' down path choices you will reach the viewing point after about 2 hours. TOTALLY WORTH IT.

We went through a small path that lead us to the entrance. There were picnic tables and lots of kids/families in the area. Once we went through the front, starts a small trail which is scenic. You might want to wear tennis shoes-you are entering a hiking trail that is not paved. There are small ponds you will pass. I believe at 1.5 miles you cross this bridge with a beautiful waterfall and an old abandoned building, which is worth the hike. These woods/hike is not strenuous, but I suggest you wear the proper footwear.

After walking all around town, I ended up at Olaf Ryes Plass, and it was the perfect place to sit…read moredown and recharge. It's a lovely little square with plenty of benches, trees, and a laid-back vibe that makes it easy to just relax and people-watch for a while. It also turned out to be super useful for finding my way around andsitting here helped me spot Skaal Matbar nearby, which was a great bonus if you're looking for a drink or bite to eat. Definitely a nice little oasis in the middle of Grünerløkka; great for a quick pause before diving back into the city.
