That said, during her one year at the school, my child's teacher could not keep his political beliefs out of the classroom. He is painfully misinformed and brings his misinformation into his history lessons. When I expressed upset, the school administration claimed to be politically neutral; however, the principal insinuated that my child was a liar while trying to cover up when the teacher brought out a model of a fetus to make sure he expressed his bias to me clearly. (After assuring me that the whole class, other than my child, saw no fetus, she later admitted it happened.) Key School supported that same teacher's emphatic declaration that America is not in any part a democracy while studying the Constitution. They supported him, teaching the children that only violent criminals were being deported while innocent immigrants are being disappeared into Venezuelan concentration camps. That is not just a biased opinion- he is teaching outright untruths. His beliefs are not academic and far from neutral. In fact, they align with Trump's cult beliefs rather than the true Republican party ethos. To sum it up, if you are affluent and looking for an overpriced, Fox News-based, fascist propaganda education with some racism and sexism thrown in now and again, as many Texans likely are, this is your place. Those looking for a real education and equanimity for all students should seek it elsewhere.

A student can be taking classes across a range of 5 grades depending on what THEY need. The environment is structured and safe, and the staff really does care about the students. Be advised that the cost approaches that of some universities, but in this case you truly do get what you pay for.

There are plenty of kids here who deserve a better education from respectable staff. And I state firmly the staff here does maintain true respect and responsibility. The glamor is only skin deep. A polite smile. I believe some staff deserve to be legally held accountable. Luckily the poor kids at the office cover all that up. If only most of the money didnt go into a poor building that leans. If only the staff wneren't needing strong words that are not used very often. I find it grotesque to even think of. Poor leadership affects all of our governments and neighborhoods. I hope you find a better place as I sure did. If you wanted weird you get more than your fill.

The school couldnt do anything about it. Poor guy, he was so depressed. All of that changed when he started going to Schelastic Academy. What a positive, safe environment it was for him. He worked hard, he persevere and grew into a wonderful young man. This school works with the kids so they feel loved and accepted. And their education programs thru the computer is self paced, but they do need to keep on top of their studies. I have enjoyed and love this school for my grandson. It will be a wonderful school to watch your child grow and achieve and grasp everything they can through Schelastic Academy.

I know first hand how this facility is run, how the children are treated and what they are or are not "learning". Teachers are not certified with the state and have had little to no training in their respective fields. Support staff isn't trained properly and are taken advantage of in every way. The only person in building with an actual degree and license to practice is the BCBA. They have had major issues with curriculum accreditation and the facility itself does not have adequate safety measures in place. They have had children escape their facility multiple times. This building is only licensed as a child care facility not a learning center or center for education. Children on a curriculum at this facility are not being taught by certified teachers and grades submitted are being doctored to reflect better on the owners. I know this from personal testimonies recorded. The issues can go on and on. So please, don't waste your time here. I have personally reported them and am hoping those in charge will see the corruption and irresponsibility and shut this place down. Apparently I'm not the only one who feels this way either, just look at the link at the bottom of the screen. The one that says "one review not recommended."

We strove to enlist every therapist, a private behavioral aide to accompany him in the classroom, outside therapies, and more. My son was ostracized for the behavioral issues Shady Oak claims to address. The director, Pam, was very unpleasant and insinuated that we were at fault for him not thriving in an environment where he was constantly singled out and punished. This is not a good environment for children with behavioral challenges. Because of these issues, my child did not make any academic progress the entire year he was there. Pam became a bully rather than an administrator, and when challenged in any capacity, blamed us as parents. The approaches taken to address behavioral issues, instead exacerbate them. The teachers were not equipped to deal with the children in the classrooms, and this results in constant disruption and a lack of boundaries for all involved. I have personally spoken to multiple other parents who have had extremely similar experiences and removed their children from this program.
