First time float was a success!…read more My float session was the perfect way to reset on spring break! I felt weightless. The silence and overall experience made me feel relaxed and light as a feather. From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm, intentional, and welcoming. After booking online, I received an orientation video via email that walked me through what to expect. I really appreciated having that ahead of time as it helped me feel prepared and excited rather than nervous. Jake greeted us with such warmth and clarity. He walked us through the waiver, explained the process in detail, and guided us to our float rooms with so much care. It immediately put me at ease. They offer both enclosed tank and open pool options, which I loved. I chose the open pool and it worked out great for me. It's the little thoughtful touches that made this experience stand out. Jake's reminder to put earplugs in before showering, the tip about having damp rags on the edge of the tank in case salt gets in your eyes, and even a float journal filled with reflections and inspiration. After the float, I was treated to hot cinnamon tea in the salt room which truly felt like the perfect grounding moment.

I'd done a float therapy session at another establishment and loved it. As someone who's pretty much in some sort of physical pain at all times, float therapy was pretty much the only time I've been completely pain-free and comfortable and I recommend everyone gives it a try at least once. My wife came across a deal Stasis was running for solo floats, so I figured I'd give them a try. Stasis has 2 different ways to float, deprivation style tanks and open pools. I prefer the open pool option, so I booked my session during a recent staycation. You have to book your appointments, no walk ins, as there are only a couple rooms and they are 90 minute sessions, so they're blocked off for you. The employee at the desk was very friendly and is very informative if you're a first timer. I found the open pool room enjoyable, the shower is right there for your before/after shower, you have the option of having a dim light on if you prefer, and there are amenities like lotion, soaps, etc. This open pool, while plenty big enough for me (6 ft, 300 lbs), was much smaller than the other tank I'd been in, so any small movement while floating would eventually move you towards the edges and you'd have to recenter, however. My only issue with Stasis was I feel like they are more aimed at the "sensory deprivation" aspect of float therapy - the first establishment I floated at, you had the option of having calming music play during your float, but Stasis doesn't offer that and asks you to turn your phone off during the float. Now, I understand the sensory deprivation aspect if that's something you're looking for, but I mostly float for pain reduction, so for me, complete silence is not my preference, so I do wish there was an option to either have music play or be able to attach your phone to a speaker in the room. Despite those very small issues, I did book another session as they offered a lowered price again on my way out, and essentially my experience was the same as far as pain reduction. If you've ever been interested in float therapy, I absolutely recommend it as a great way to reduce pain, and Stasis is a decent place to give it a try.

Stasis Float Center - I had a persistent cough & the salt room experience cleared my lungs a bit. I could take deep breaths without coughing.

For Tammy, who struggled with Lupus for years, the relief she experienced from floating was nothing short of a wellness miracle. After the float experience, she felt that she was in less pain, had less inflammation and also noticed a dramatic decrease in stress and anxiety. Terry's experience was very similar. An athlete since high school and committed fitness aficionado, he noticed immediate relief from chronic back/muscle soreness and tightness. He was also astonished at the long-lasting calming effects that the magnesium Epsom salts provided for days after the float. As successful business owners already, Tammy and Terry's entrepreneurial mindset and wheels also began to spin after their float, imagining how they could introduce a float center and a fresh, new wellness perspective to the Oswego community. They began to research other successful regional and national centers, the industry, float tanks, history and origins of floating, new industry/marketing partners, and other technical aspects of the business potential, and in 2019, the Aqua Spa was born. My wife and I had heard of Aqua Spa from a local radio station and after a couple rough months, we decided to treat ourselves to a spa day to relax. We went with the Ultimate Experince Package for couples, which included a 30 minute sauna, 60 minute flat therapy, 36 minute massage chair, cryotherapy session, 30 minute salt therapy session, and a 10 minute oxygen bar. We set up our appointment easily over the phone. We were greeted by friendly employees when we arrived and met with our associate for the day who would walk us through all our services. Everything is in private rooms, and most things are recommended to do nude, so you're left alone or with just your partner in each room. We started with the sauna, which is an infared sauna, which different infared lights for different ailments. I'm not a person who likes being warm or sweating, so while this wasn't for me personally, my wife, who does like heat, loved it. We moved on to our float therapy, which was amazing. It's my favorite thing we did. You're brought into a tank full of water and 1500 lbs of salt so there's no way to sink. You go in, lay down, turn the lights off and just float while soothing music plays. I've never been so comfortable and pain free in my life, it was truly awesome and I could do it every day. The salt therapy was interesting, you're brought into a room where you lay in comfy chairs while powdered salt is pumped into the room. It apparentely helps with several different types of respiratory issues and is great for skin. The cryotherapy I was a little nervous about, but I ended up really enjoying. You're put into a cryotherapy machine for 3 minutes while the temperature drops to about 120 degrees, but when you come out and the blood starts rushing back into your skin and muscles, it's a great feeling. The oxygen bar was interesting too. You put on a nasal cannula which is plugged into a machine that pumps pure oxygen and different scents you get to choose into your nose and it helped wake me up and give me some energy. The massage chairs are top of the line shiatsu chairs and were also one of our favorite things. Packages are affordable, as we paid $286 for 4 hours of services for two people. Tammy the owner happened to be at the front desk when we were leaving and we chatted with her and she was very personable and fun to talk to. We'd definitely recommend giving it a try, as it was a great relaxing afternoon for the both of us and we'd absolutely go back again.
