I was treated so poorly by the apparently new receptionist at Body Therapeutics & Medical Massage, that I WON'T likely be going back. My boyfriend gave me an immersion tank floatation session and a massage as a surprise, relaxing birthday gift. Upon arrival, the receptionist asked our name and immediately turned her back to us while she continued to talk. I asked her to repeat herself so we could hear what she was saying. She went on to hand me the stack of papers (which she clearly did not have ready for our arrival) and to tell me that I could not receive the flotation service if I had colored hair or used self-tanning products. I told her that I did both and that I doubt that my permanent hair color would be a problem. And BTW, I am so fair and had done so little self-tanning that you could not even tell by looking at me (I use Jergen's Daily Moisturizer that has a very mild, colorless self-tanning additive). But she didn't ask about that. She then proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay $1500 if my hair color stained their flotation tank. I told her that I would not sign anything that said I may have to pay $1500 to them if there was some kind of trouble with their tank. At this point, the conversation was really making me wonder how they ever get ANY female clients over 40 to purchase this service with those restrictions. About that time, another employee who I later learned had been there more than a year, came out and was introduced to me as the person who would get me ready for my services. I continued filling out my paperwork and mentioned that there is nothing in the paperwork about hair color, self-tanner or a $1500 fee. The experienced employee then said that the issue is more of a problem with temporary hair color and looked at me and said that I would not be a problem. So, I finished my paperwork and signed it. He then politely asked the receptionist if she wanted to take her lunch which she did and the experienced employee brought me back to the treatment area. And I just chalked up the pointless and stressful conversation to a bad reception hire. But the STRESS was not over! About 10 minutes after I was in the flotation room, there was a knock on the door and this receptionist who was supposed to be at lunch, said to me thru the door that the floating session had been cancelled and to get out. Who knows what she had said, but apparently, she didn't like that the experienced employee had looked at my permanent hair color and obvious low use of self-tanner and said that it would not be a problem and she went off somewhere else to call an off-site manager who the receptionist was now reporting had said to stop the service. Something is wrong over there. Either, they have a very poor setup where common personal products can cause a problem even though you shower BEFORE entering the flotation tank and they want their customers to incur the cost of their poor setup OR they didn't care to investigate the facts being provided by what appears to be an inexperienced employee who didn't agree with the experienced employee. Furthermore, even if a minute amount of self-tanner is a problem or permanent hair color is a problem, this receptionist could have offered another treatment for me to do at the same time. But she did not. I'm surprised that we have not received a call from management apologizing for this very poor experience. Whatever their problem, the net cost is that they lost a potential long-term customer and we were caused a lot of stress and to waste a good part of our day. I've had many massages in the past few years here. It wasn't until yesterday that I was bitterly disappointed. Nevermind the fact that I requested a male therapist. It's my preference. Instead I got a female, which is fine, but not what I requested. I filled out my intake form, long after my initial booking, twice mentioning that my right collarbone was extremely sensitive to touch. Natacia, my therapist, with virtually no communication began my massage focusing almost completely on my right collarbone! She worked on the most painful part of my body more than any other part of my body for the majority of my hour. I booked the cbd oil treatment. I did not receive it. I booked the rose aromatherapy. I did not receive it. I booked the leg gel therapy thing. I did not receive it. Thankfully they did not charge me for the services I didn't get, but I was left very disappointed, and in far worse pain than I was before I walked through that door. I would like to add that the level of unprofessional treatment I received yesterday was embarrassing. I love this place and have always enjoyed coming until yesterday. I had been waiting for over a month, looking very forward to this transformative visit, only to be put into pain by a person who clearly doesn't know what she is doing. Sadly, I can't say I would like another visit. What happened to you guys? If it were possible, I would have given a zero star review. DO BETTER. read more

If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. This was the worst experience of my life and the owners have no idea how to run a business. It was my first time EVER to a spa. I treated myself to a float, facial, massage and salt chamber. First was the float. The receptionist Martha, was great. She escorted me to my float room and explained the procedures for a proper float. After she left, I locked the door to my float room and began the process to float! Unbeknownst to me, the lock on the door was broken. Due to having ear plugs in, I could not hear. A male spa attendant walked in my room while I was completely nude! Mortified, I quickly pushed him out with the door. Completely shocked, I managed to compose myself long enough to try floating. However, I was never fully able to relax and kept worrying that someone would come in. Once my float was done, I was on to my massage and facial! Its gotta get better right? WRONG!! Second part was my massage and facial. I advised the massage therapist that this was my first massage and I didn't want deep tissue. She said she understood. The massage was eh... I actually felt worse afterwards and she made me very sore. Maybe I'm just not one for massages, no biggie! Next was my facial. After applying some oils to my face, she asked if I'd like a complimentary cupping on my face. I declined saying that I did not want bruising on my face. I was assured there would be NO bruising, so I agreed. The last part was the salt chamber. It was not bad and it finished off my 3 hour spa experience. I was advised to buy a serum and spray for my face, so I did. I got dressed, paid and was on my way home. The pictures attached of my face were taken 2 hours after and the following day. I looked like I had been beaten. I immediately called and spoke with Martha. She assured me that she would contact the owners because she had never heard of bruising. I also emailed pictures to her for proof. A short time later, she called and said she was advised that it was toxins that were pulled to the surface of the skin. Being in the medical field, I told her I was confident this was bruising, not toxins. She was told to have me come in for a red light therapy treatment to resolve the bruising. Mind you, they had said the day before it wasn't bruising. So I went back down and sweated in a red light sauna for 1 hour. My bruising did not fade. The next day, I developed a rash on my entire face that was red, hot to the touch and burning. I knew I was having a reaction. I called Martha again. She told me she would email the owners immediately to contact me. For the next 3 days, I took Benadryl and could only use an all natural moisturizer on my face. I literally sat at my work desk with ice packs on my face to help with swelling and pain. It was miserable. Martha followed up to see if the owners had contacted me, they had not. She apologized profusely and said she would send another email. 3 weeks AFTER this took place, I got an email from the owner, Meghan. No phone call, an email. She stated she would call but never did. I was only refunded for my facial and float. I would expect a full refund given the horrible experience I had. Nope! Needless to say, I will NEVER recommend them! P.S. They reprimanded their Receptionist Martha because I was dissatisfied with their failure to communicate. She quit shortly after. read more

Usually don't like male therapists but he was fantastic. I felt very relaxed throughout my massage. The room smelled great, linens were clean and the table was very comfortable! I was the fortunate recipient of a gift certificate for a session with Megan. As soon as I entered their beautiful massage studio, I instantly felt relaxed, warm and welcomed. Megan was thorough and professional in explaining all of the methods she would be using. She answered all of my questions and we discussed which particular areas that needed some extra attention. The massage/accupressure itself was transcendent. I simultaneously felt both relaxed and energized. Megan is a petite lady but so strong! And also wonderfully gentle. The staff is welcoming, but it's hit or miss for massage therapists. I did have one less than mediocre experience out of three massages and was waiting for the massage to be over after 10 minutes. If you find a decent massage therapist stick with them and don't try anyone else. After two decent and one bad experience I won't be going back. I've been here twice now for massages and once for a float. My first experience was good, and the massage was excellent, but my therapist talked the entire time. Usually I love a good conversation but since I have an eight month old, quiet time is preferred these days. I called a few days ago to make an appointment, but unfortunately nothing was available so they put me on a waiting list in case something were to pop up. I decided why not, not thinking much would come of it, but luckily someone cancelled and I was able to get in. I read on the website that your first float you should arrive 15 minutes early since there's a lot to go over. The float was super clean and Emma did a great job at explaining everything. I only lasted about 40 minutes, and now know how to set myself up for next time. If you wear contacts, make sure to bring your glasses, especially if you're as blind as I am. My massage was scheduled with Colleen and I can say it was one of the best I've had. Her technique is wonderful, and if I didn't live two hours away, I would become a regular client of hers. Over all, Body Therapeutics is a great addition to the Redlands, and I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in town! read more

I am so "relaxed" that I may not be able to write this! while my husband and I travel, one of the things we do is treat ourselves to massages, pedicures, etc. while in Grand Junction, we thought a massage after hiking for a couple of days would be good. I highly recommend Body to anyone looking for a tranquil and relaxing experience. I have had massages, hot stone massages, cupping, infrared sauna, floating, O2 therapy, and accupuncture. I have enjoyed every one of these therapies, but I am most impressed with accupuncture with Tara. I have felt immediate relief from pain, have seen an improvement in the condition of my skin, and have lost unwanted weight. Tara continues to impress me by recommending home therapies and herbal supplements that aid in the accupuncture treatment. It's a perfect place! Massage was great. The masseuse/owner Brett is an amazing professional who knows his way around a human body and who will give more attention where it's needed so you could leave this place light and rejuvenated. He is also a nice knowledgeable conversationalist and probably the only masseuse that I have talked to and it was as relaxing and spiritual as the massage itself (if you are interested in health). Aesthetic spacious renovation. Verity of services for any taste and needs including all the professionals that work there. The atmosphere is very organic, calm and comfortable. I have had many massages and beauty treatments over the years, and this definitely rates as one of my favorites. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt relaxed and like I moved away from the noisy outside world. I had a massage, facial, and foot wrap as a treat to myself after some extensive outdoor time. One of my favorite things about the massage is it utilized acupressure, and really focused on trouble spots or soreness I was having. It was a bit more specific than just a traditional massage.
