Julie is hands down the best pilates instructor I have been to. After back surgery I needed to re-build my strength and was told pilates was the way to go. After going to a few different instructors, who wanted to do nothing but push me beyond what my body was honestly capable of at that time (their mentality of no pain,no gain). I gave up and started to accept that I was just going to have to live with, not only the pain, but the fact that I was never going to be able to actually enjoy Montana activities.
Then a friend told me about Julie. I thought why not, I've got nothing to lose. The first class Julie was friendly, calm, and actually listened to me. When I said something hurt, she asked what the 'hurt' felt like. Was it a 'your body is stiff' and just needs to be slowly stretched hurt? Or was it a 'we need to modify this particular exercise' type of hurt. I felt great after going to her classes! Julie took the time to make sure I was doing every position correctly. And most importantly, she made sure my back was protected and I was building my core, to help protect my back in my daily activities!!
I've been taking mat classes from Julie for a couple years, and feel amazing. When Julie opened up her own studio, with the Reformer machine, and the TRX bands, my pilates enjoyment hit a whole new level!! I did not think it was possible to love pilates any more, or to feel even stronger then I had.
I would recommend Julie to everyone who wants a calm, relaxed, but still fun and enjoyable experience. Seriously, if you've tried pilates before and felt lost, or ignored by instructors, give Julie a try and see what a difference personal attention can make. read more
