I just had 3 classes here. I am coming back many times!…read more I've taken F45 before in another location so I knew what I was getting into- hard, fun, varied workouts. I got more than I expected. It started with a very knowledgeable Trainer who signed me up and gave me all info I needed. When I arrived people were friendly. The workouts are fun and hard as I remember. I was approached by 2 of the trainers to check on me and also to give me info re changing my movements to maximize my ability to gain strength. The trainers are highly experienced and educated in strength training and physical movement. The managers and trainers are very friendly and approachable. F45 workouts are the most fun in the world just my opinion)- and this is a wonderful place to maintain and increase your fitness with expert trainers. I will be there- you?

More importantly, though, here are some primary reasons I stayed: 1. LOCATION is great! Open windows allow lots of light, making for a pleasant space to work out. 2. RESPONSIVE staff. Immediately replied to texts. Katie, a temp manager (maternity leave), was superb! 3. STELLAR coaching - this from a highly technical coach. We all need coaching and I got some, especially from Coach Juan who is not only good at coaching but is also super nice! Tonya is a beast with clear and amazing cues for coaching. 4. CLEAN studio with good equipment. Other studios that I've been to have damaged equipment on the floor. Didn't see any at Eastlake. Equipment was well maintained. In addition, they have Olympic bars! Also, bathrooms are super clean and always stocked. 5. FRIENDLY community. This was a bonus. I don't care much for community but they built a solid one here. SIGNED UP for unlimited membership.

If you are a newbie to yoga, I would recommend their C1 class, which goes over the fundamentals of Vinyasa yoga at a reasonable pace. I personally I haven't tried C1 at this specific location (went to the Ballard location). However, if you have some experiences with yoga and weights, I highly recommend their Yoga Sculpt class. The class is upbeat and is a mix of yoga poses, cardio and strength training moves (squats, lunges, bicep curls to name examples). You get extremely sweaty since the room is also heated, so don't forget to bring a towel for wiping off. The asthetics of the gym are not as posh as the Ballard and Capitol Hill locations but it is kept clean and the showers are stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Keep in mind, classes are not reserved ahead of time (unless if you sign up via ClassPass). They do offer a 1 week unlimited class pass, which you will have to sign up in person.

The front desk is only open certain hours, but the gym is actually 24/7 with your key fob. It's located in the St James apartment building so the restrooms are in the hall, versus part of the locker rooms. I personally just go for a class then go home, so I'm okay giving up nice, fancy showers for a lower monthly gym membership. When I first moved to Fremont and started exploring gyms, I used ClassPass and it's cool because Fremont Health Club actually offers "gym time" for part of your ClassPass credits as well as classes. There are two studios, and they are on the smaller side, but what makes a difference is how great all the instructors are. They're friendly, and because it's a small gym, they remember your name and face and the community is really what makes this place special. The monthly membership includes 5 classes, but if you want unlimited classes it's a few dollars more per month. Since the gym is in such a great location, some classes are even on the roof when the weather's nice; I took a HIIT (high intensity interval training) where we ran under the bridge and worked out right along the Burke-Gilman trail with a great view of the water and mountains. I definitely recommend FHC for tons of fun class options that can fit many schedules!

I signed up for a 1 month membership or so I thought, and come to find out I was being billed an automatic renewal of 60$ a month, I would expect this type of underhanded treatment from a corporation, but by a locally owned and operated business was surprising.
