Updated review... Since I started working from home, I had a little bit of pain in my shoulder. I contacted Danielle since I knew she was also an expert in home office ergonomics. She did a virtual assessment, and with her recommendations I've been feeling better after only a little over a week. Thank you Danielle! read more

Danielle is so caring, competent, and knowledgeable in all that she does. She is always seeking to learn more and to creatively problem solve around whatever pain and alignment issue(s) you're having . I have really benefited from working with her on my neck and shoulder pain. She taught me so much about how my body works and how to better take care of it! read more

I found Body Align looking for a massage here on Yelp and read all the reviews about even the ones in the past years and decided to take a phone call for more information. Danielle spoke with me over the phone for over 15min listening carefully to all my concerns and goals and she even gave me advice on few things I could do at home to relieve the stress and pain from my plantar fasciitis. I scheduled a therapeutic massage with Lori and couldn't have asked for a better experience. She is simply lovely and made sure to listen attentively to all my concerns so she could work specifically on it. She ended up giving me a full body massage outstandingly mindful on my feet and ankles as well as some flexibility movements that helped release the stress from them. After a few hours post session I can tell not only my body feels relaxed but I can also feel how my mind and soul got affected by this energy flow. I highly recommend it and will definitely come back! read more

I don't see any other reviews here on Yelp talking about Danielle's 12 Session Tune Up program so I thought I would focus my review on it. It's absolutely something to consider if you have issues with pain, bad posture, or injury! I am writing this review 2 weeks after finishing up the program. I feel fantastic. Frankly, the best my body has felt in years. For me it was a great investment in feeling better - with the added benefit of moving better and sleeping better. Add these three things together and it's been a priceless investment. As recommended, I did consecutive weekly sessions. Each week was an hour and a half of body work to effectively 'reset' fascia. It was really interesting to experience the difference in how particular parts of the body felt and moved after the session and through to the next session. For example, I am a runner and have issues with my IT bands and calves. The sessions that focused on those areas made me move so much better. I also have a lot of issues with my hips and back from having an office job where I sit a lot. I noticed I was a lot more comfortable at work after the sessions that focused on those areas. Really, each week's body work was impactful. I also committed myself to do the stretching exercises that I got from Danielle after each session. I have combined them all into a really effective routine that I now do throughout the week. 3 months ago, my body was a wreck. I had pain up and down by back, in my forearms from computer work, a ton of tension in my shoulders, super tight and constricted muscles in my legs, and overall questionable posture. After this 12 week program, I am back to running pain free and I am significantly less sore the next day, compared to how it used to be. It feels like my body is moving the right way again. It is remarkable. I think there is really something to be said for structural bodywork. Luckily we have Danielle here in San Diego who is an expert with it. I'd also like to mention Danielle's office is very comfortable. read more

Unlike other massage places, Danielle works on particular parts of the body if you are stiff or aching. She incorporates some stretching and other techniques that help that particular area. My shoulders have been feeling better since I started coming. Danielle will also perform a full body massage if that's what you are interested in. I like that Danielle listens and genuinely cares about helping others. She wants to make sure she is getting the pressure right. Her massage table is heated which is a huge plus in the winter months. I highly recommend Danielle. read more

I've done a lot of massages, Danielle really knows what she's doing and the structural alignment bodywork approach is where it's at. As soon as you get up you can feel the difference. My favorite part is that Danielle is very insightful with lifestyle suggestions and how to continue the self-care in between sessions. Highly recommend! read more

I got a couple's Thai Massage Seminar for my husband and I for a Valentine's Day gift and with busy schedules I realized we needed to use our voucher before it expires and Danielle was able to give us a weekend spot. Danielle was great with us. We felt very comfortable with her and learned so much from her. She asked what spots we wanted to focus on and we were able to work on some similar spots my husband and I both mentioned. She taught us stretching and massage moves we can do on eachother anytime one of us are having any pain. This was definitely a great experience to become closer and more intimate at a different level with you partner's body and help relieve some pain and aches in between massage therapy sessions. read more

Went to see Danielle after several months of trying to find the right massage- former athlete who wanted actual alignment body work, not just a relaxing massage. Was everything I was looking for and more- very professional and knowledgeable. I felt like my hips and shoulders were literally unwinding and taking a deep breath out! Showed me how to stretch and foam roll for my specific injuries and concerns, and went over some exercises to help strengthen. Felt very comfortable relaxing and trusting her, which isn't always the case with constructive structural massage as it is not always painless. Her studio space in Hillcrest is clean and very inviting. Made a second appointment for this week and can't wait to get back! Would definitely recommend! read more

Danielle is AH-MAZING. I highly recommend the couples Thai massage workshop. It was a LOT of fun, we learned a LOT and she actually films the routine for you to take home! Danielle is awesome!!!! I purchased a 60 minute Structural Integration Massage & Assessment from Groupon, I emailed her to schedule an appointment and she responded in a timely manner. Danielle is amazing! I had horrendous low back pain due to recently changing jobs where I sit all day long. I have seen her twice and am happy to report the my pain is completely gone which I did not think was possible. She has great energy and educates you on the process and the reasons for your pain. I have seen Danielle a few times now and she is a truly gifted professional. She understands the body and the bodywork she provides is more than a mere massage. It is the untwisting of tight muscle groups to give you free range of motion. After a long week or month at work, I became used to the level of stress in my body. One hour with Danielle and my body feels different. My neck feels freer. My shoulders feel relaxed. It's amazing what Danielle can do and how she heals my body. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone living a life in this fast paced hectic world! Much love to you, Danielle, and for the time, energy and focus that you give to me and all your clients!!! read more

I just saw Danielle for the first time today and I can honestly say that I feel like a whole new person! I have been suffering from bad neck and shoulder pain that has cause issues with my alignment, which I have to go to a chiropractor frequently to fix the issue. But today, I feel that I will not have to go to the chiropractor as often as I have been. She listened to my concerns, addressed them and introduced me to a new type of massage that I have been needing for quite some time. She also showed me some wonderful stretches to do at home to help my tension in my neck and shoulders. I highly recommend her if you are suffering from any sort of pain and need someone skilled. The icing on top is that she is extremely knowledgeable ad has a wonderful warm personality. You can clearly see and feel that she cares about your wellbeing. Book your appointment with her ASAP! You will be so glad that you did:) read more

I just finished a 12 session rolfing / structural integration session with Danielle and am beyond pleased with the results. My posture has gone from hunched over shoulders and an abnormal arch on the lower spine to a nice straight spine with shoulders back in my most natural resting position. Beyond the release of tension and resolution of minor levels of chronic pain, having good posture is affecting me positively in numerous ways I did not anticipate. For example, I feel more confident in myself just walking about through feeling the way that my body carries me. I have had many chiropractic and massage sessions with other therapists that have done nothing to resolve spinal issues. I truly feel that Danielle has performed a miraculous feat in healing these issues. The approach of rolfing incorporates adjusting the whole skeletal system, and it was quite interesting to see how releasing tension in the facia on the legs could have a domino effect up to the hips, spine, neck and so on. Danielle is a wonderful therapist with a wealth of knowledge and precision in her body work. In addition to rolfing / structural integration sessions, she importantly provided education of stretches and exercises. Helping patients with self-care really goes above and beyond. For anyone who lives near San Diego who is in need of bodywork, please do yourself a favor and call Danielle at Body Align. read more

Danielle is wonderful! Her bodywork style is very therapeutic...my sessions have been like a hybrid of massage and physical therapy. Her goal is to help you meet your personal wellness goals, rather than just help you feel good for an hour or two. She's had intensive training in anatomy/alignment based therapy, so she's someone to see if you want to create lasting changes, improve your posture and address old injuries. Thank you Danielle helping my body feel like it's supposed to! read more

Danielle is amazing! Great energy& great technique! Very intuitive - work out knot on left trap that I've had for weeks , and gave me stretches to do at home so pain won't return. Im definitely going back! read more

Straight up miracle worker. Feel like a newborn babe. Ideal for those with chronic back and neck pain (aka if you're in law school).

Took Danielle's Thai Massage Workshop for couples with my boyfriend and it was great! We learned so much, Danielle was patient and explained everything. She even let us record the last part of the session so we'd have a reference to work from at home! We went overtime (perhaps due to our clumsiness) and she was so gracious. We'll definitely be back! read more

First time visiting with Danielle today and it was quite an amazing experience! I was used to having a regular message, but the techniques that were used today really benefitted my achey neck and shoulders. Thanks for the posture techniques also, Danielle! I certainly did the need the tips with my spending hours in front of the computer daily! I will definately be back. read more

I came to Danielle with very specific structural issues that had, through traditional medicine, remained unremedied. Danielle's work, from restructuring the fascia to the personalized yoga program, have had a profound and lasting impact. I feel better, am more productive at work, and, most importantly, am living a happier life. It's not just about the obvious - reducing pain and living healthier - but it's also about presence. My posture is so much better that it's obvious in business meetings and other events where presence matters. Finally, as with all good things, patience is a virtue, and I know that it takes more than just a handful of sessions to realize permanent change. I value the long-term program that Danielle put together for me and her diligence in seeing it through with me. I'm not easily impressed, and I nearly never Yelp, but sometimes you just feel compelled to tell others about a brilliant experience. One more note about living happier and working more productively - I recently purchased gift certificates for some of my employees who I believe would benefit from Danielle's expertise and skills. read more
