At 6 years old, our son couldn't read. I remember trying to help him read the title of a book one night, and he just couldn't do it. He was trying so hard, but he couldn't do it. The name of the book was, "An Ant".
We put our little boy into Bodine in the first grade. He's now entering 4th grade and reading on a 6th grade level.
The school is not cheap, but it's worth every penny to save our little boy the heartache and depression that he was sinking into, even at that tender age. He was left out of everything because he couldn't keep up. At Bodine, every kid there knew exactly what he was feeling because they'd felt it too. Profit is not the goal. The goal is to get kids reading, and to transition them out into traditional classrooms as soon as they've mastered the skills they need. And that includes all the other subjects. They don't slack on the other subjects at ALL -- math, social studies, science, P.E., computer science, art -- they're all present and accounted for, and the kids are encouraged to do their best in those areas as well. Most of them do great work there too.
Bodine is in the business of miracles. It's what they do. I'll never completely understand what the process is that gets these kids reading, but it works. It simply works. If your child is dyslexic, get him or her into Bodine immediately. The sooner you get them into the correct environment the better off they'll be.
As you can see, I love this school. Our family knows well that Bodine is the jewel in the crown of all dyslexia schools across the country, as does every other family there. It's been a gift to our son, who has blossomed in their care. No more tears, no more frustration or beating himself up. He's excelling, and he knows it. There's pride and a sense of accomplishment in him now. Could any parent ask for more? read more
