The ambience is that of a nice spa, the only difference is instead of private rooms, you're separated by curtains, but it's quiet and relaxing, soothing music and low lighting, you aren't distracted or even notice others are getting services too. The chair reclines all the way back, I thought I was upside down for a minute. I was this close to falling asleep from how relaxed I was. Bella worked magic on every part she worked. I'm definitely going back and booking with her!

I guess I will just have to treat myself again!

I've been patronizing another massage therapist in Sandy for years now, but I thought I'd try…read moresomething different and new...so I happened upon Jasmine Massage...super convenient as it's just minutes from my home. I made online reservations for a 1-hour Swedish massage using the SquareUp app...which allowed me to select from a wealth of menu options and session duration. I arrived a few minutes early and parked right out front. I was met in the locked lobby by Yun, the proprietor and owner of the store (she told me it is pronounced "Yen" like the Japanese currency.) After finishing and cleaning up with a previous customer, Yun invited me and confirmed my Swedish style, and after she left, I disrobed and got on the table under the towel. Yun started working right away and began with heavy downward pressure holds that apparently prepare the body for deeper work. After 10 minutes of that, she started on the long medium pressure strokes (with oil) that Swedish massage is know for. Very nice. The massage table was comfortable, and had the face hole near the end (Yun called it a 'Chinese table')...but I'm more attuned to the tables with the horseshoe shaped face rest that hangs off the end of the table...and can be lowered down to expose the back of my neck more that a flat table. Although a Swedish massage, Yun found many knots and said my calves were really tight...and just wanted to dig in with some trigger point therapy, but even the yesterdays session was a little more painful than what I expected. Before the flip onto my vack, Yun applied a nice toasty hot moist towel to my shoulders, back, and legs. Nice touch. I also had her lighten up her pressure a couple time which she happily did. She finished with another hot towel and I felt pretty damned good. I found Yun to be very pleasant, very conversant, and informative...with her explaining everything she was doing and why. She knows her stuff, and demonstrated it yesterday. My hour session came to $95, and I happily provided her with a nice gratuity. She said the next session will be much more trigger-point (medical) oriented approach, and I am OK with that. I plan to return in mid-November for round two and see what Yun can do for me. Looking forward to it. Five Stars for a great first time experience.

There's a bit of language barrier and not much communication before getting started, but she was skilled enough to find the problem areas and work them out. She asked multiple times about the pressure and made adjustments, concentrating on areas I pointed out. The main issue I experienced was the constant interruptions. When the phone rang or another customer walked in, she would leave to answer without saying anything. She also stepped out for a few minutes to discuss something with her coworker. There were probably 5-6 separate incidents so it completely disrupted the flow, yet the massage still finished on the hour. I paid in cash to avoid the credit card charge, but it was awkward. I had to ask for change back and instead of just giving me the correct amount, she asked how much - as in, what's the tip?

I love foot massages, so we decided to make this a birthday outing for a friend. I made an…read moreappointment for 4 people for foot massages in the afternoon. When we got there, there was ONE person, and as he got us set up another person came out. TWO people for four of us. That means instead of a 1-hour excursion, we were there for TWO HOURS. (This wasn't the main guy's fault, he frantically tried to contact the people who were supposed to be there, I guess the others are flaky.) The main guy was very nice, gave us water, got us seated in comfortable spots, although... we couldn't all sit together and chat, even though there are 4 chairs in the back room, he said it was crowded to work in. But then he was the only one working back there anyway. So I understand, but I don't understand. Once the woman finished up she did not help out with the remaining people. I don't know why. There were NO OTHER clients the whole time. Then when we were paying (cash, extra fee for credit card), they had the audacity to remind us to leave a tip also. I'm afraid we left much too generous a tip as we tried to finish up quickly to get to our next event. The massage itself was pleasant, although actually short. I would say maybe 30 minutes of actual foot massage. It was nice to have a little bit of time on shoulders but I was sad not to have longer on my feet. Also at the very end they have you move to sit facedown on a massage table for a kind of all-body massage, very short, kind of a nice idea... but the table did not have a real head thing, so you stick your face in a towel+pillow combo. Suffocation~! I was extremely disappointed. I suppose my only choice is to go back to Thailand or Taiwan to find decent foot massages.

I arrived in pain and left in even more pain than before. Unfortunately my massage experience was…read moreanything but relaxing. I had been up all night with a stiff neck and shoulders, and booked this place for a massage the next day. I was excited to find something last minute, and my wife had been before and had a good experience, so I was optimistic. The check in process was smooth-fill out a brief form then was taken back to a quiet room to prepare for the massage. The lighting was low and there was nice music playing-everything looked to be pretty good. My massage therapist reviewed my chart and I explained where I'd like her to focus. Typically, a massage will start out slow and relaxing, then build up to working tough areas. In this case, her movements were fast, abrupt and overly repetitive in the same area. It became comical how she was passing over the same spot so many times-I began to count to distract myself. She got up to 41 passes along the same concentrated area of my back (not even where I had asked her to focus) before she moved somewhere else. It was kind of like when my well-meaning 17 year old gives me a foot rub and stays in the same spot the whole time while daydreaming off in the distance. Today I have bruises in those spots where she went too hard for too long. (And again, barely touched my neck or shoulders.) Obviously, other people have had great experiences here-so maybe I had an "off" night or perhaps my expectations were misaligned. But since I've had wonderful massages elsewhere, I'll just schedule those places instead.
