This natural hot spring and lakeside public pool are amazing. There are three levels of service in increasing levels of price: open pool (Freibad), hot pool (Thermalbad), and Sauna. If you choose a more expensive level, it includes all the levels below it. You can choose from 1.5h, 3h, or full day tickets. You pay at the entrance for the time and pool you want to visit, and they give you a small plastic wristband which grants you entrance to the various sections of the complex, and also serves as your locker key (lockers are included, but towels are not).
The open pool has a covered baby pool (30 cm deep), a kids pool (up to 1.3m deep) with two different waterslides, and a lap pool 50m long and 2m deep. The open pool includes access to the lake (which is public) by way of a special walkway and dock that lets you step into the lake more gingerly than you might if you're walking in from the shore.
The thermal baths include both indoor and outdoor thermal relaxing pools, mostly at 33°C, with a few hotter tubs at 36°C. There's also a kids pool in the thermal area. The thermal pools have special jets and bubbles to maximize your relaxation. I can't say much about the Sauna section because we didn't go there.
The whole facility seems very new and/or well taken care of. Everything was super-clean and in good condition when we were there on a hot and sunny summer day. There is a small snack bar in the open pool area, and you can charge food and drinks to your wristband, then pay for it on your way out.
Highly recommended spot if you're visiting Konstanz and need a day (or just a few hours) of down time. read more
