What started as stopping by to try it out, has become a regular meal of the most delicious bacon wrapped dates, chicken croquettes, and patatas bravas or patatas alioli if I'm in a garlicky mood. While parking in the neighborhood can be painful, I know because I have to drive everyday for work, Casa Mendoza is conveniently located a block from the U2/21 Rennweg station, and a couple of blocks from the U3 Maxfeld station it's well worth the walk. This one is a healthy portion, enough sauce and definitely taste. Another great surprise was that the gyozas are full of a garlicky flavor that leaves you wanting more. Add on top a wonderful mango dessert or the green tea ice cream, which you also can have multiple times and you will definitely consider coming back to this place sooner that you would've thought. I also ordered the cappuccino, which was quite good as well. The Schatz enjoyed his beer. In fact, he enjoyed it so much that I left him there to order seconds and thirds! The décor is quite clean and modern, and the café offers plenty of sitting room. The staff is very personable and friendly. I look forward to visiting again soon!

Had a three hour layover in Munich and picked this spot to have a cocktail (because I brought my…read moreown snacks). I decided to go with the small bottle of Fürst von Metternich, and it was fabulous! The endless flow of bubbles made it look more like champagne, but it's crisp balance of sweet and dry made it a perfect Riesling. A great way to ease into a German vacation! There are three other dining options that surround the general seating area, which I thought had a bit of a Scandinavian feel. This little spot is a great place to stop and relax or catch up on work while you wait for your next adventure to begin.
