The store is smaller then most US locations but it has a good mix of items .. bakery, alcohol, frozen treats, meats, milk, coffee, cleaning supplies, toiletries, furniture, office supplies, housewares & clothing. They do not have the same return policies as in the US so ask prior to buying, clothing can't be returned. You can't use your Sams Credit Card at this location, the cashier said to call, not sure if you need another card or some how authorize use in Mexico. You can pay in dollars (US coins not accepted) or pesos. They do not have empty cardboard boxes or bags at checkout so bring your own. Customer service will vary with every visit, some cashiers are very helpful while others don't even greet you they just wave you over. It might be the language barrier but I speak Spanish & have found it doesn't matter.

I like Calimax grocery stores. It is one of my more favorite grocery stores in Mexico. This one…read morewasn't as big as others that I have seen. Like most stores in Mexico, there is a Paquetes or Package area with cubicles to put packages that you may bring from other stores or backpacks. They give you a card with a number and you pick it up when you leave. They have all the foods you are used to in the US with some different names and brands. And some that may be new. The rows are pretty much arranged similarly, as well. The bakery has breads, rolls and pastries. There should be a tray to pick out what you want then workers at the counter will bag and price them. The deli counter has meats and cheeses. There is usually chorizo hanging that is delicious. There is usually a hot food section in the deli that has tasty food choices. The cashiers are very kind and friendly but usually don't speak English. Knowing some Spanish really helps. The baggers are usually older, (I've been told) not paid and work for tips. I always tip them well. I would definitely recommend this Calimax and would shop here again.

I have spent every trip coming to the Calimax to stock my airBnB for the little must haves. Everyone, from the store employees to the locals were super accommodating. I was even given a cooking lesson on tajin by a local.
