I repeat. Did not formed that, due to age-related changes in skin elasticity, liposuction alone may not produce optimal tightening results. If I had been advised that my skin might not retract and that additional procedures could be necessary, I would have reconsidered my treatment plan. In cosmetic surgery, understanding the limits of skin retraction and the risks associated with age is essential to informed decision-making. I encourage future patients to have detailed discussions about these factors before proceeding with chin or neck liposuction because he was not clear, he took my options way from me and I have been trying to fix it ever since. It's been a horrible experience. I wouldn't wish this on my enemy. Get a doctors who is going give you the proper procedure for your age and inform you of the risks and not just take your money. Also, I've talked to 2 surgeons and both said, pass the age of 35 years old, they would NEVER give chin lipo without a skin tighten procedure. Dr Vu knew better! That said, I ended up having a very a very disappointing outcome from my rhinoplasty, which he preformed 5.5 years ago. I came to him to have the tip of my nose thinned out. He ended up convincing me that I also needed to have a dorsal implant placed to raise the height of the bridge of my nose. He said that if he thinned the cartilage at the tip and did not augment the bridge that it would look like I had some sort of "syndrome" (his words, not mine), because my nose was short and that combined with the tip reduction would make it too small. So I trusted him and went forward with his recommendation. Initially, I was not totally dissatisfied with the appearance, but it definitely took some getting used to. I felt it was (at least), better than it had been before. But as time passed, the implant became mobile and would shift, especially as I slept. I would literally have to "snap" it back into place several times during the night, very uncomfortable. I called his office about the problem several years ago to ask if this was normal, and was told the nurse would ask Dr. Vu and call me back, which never happened. I again called a few weeks later, and was told I'd have to schedule an appointment to have Dr. Vu asses it. I had since moved to San Diego, so this was not a possibility. Another year or so went by and it actually began to extrude at the tip (you could see it beginning to poke through the skin), so I decided enough was enough. He had told me at the time he performed the surgery that if I was not happy with it, he could remove it in his office under a local. Again I called and asked what the procedure would entail, and how much it would cost. I was so desperate at this point, I was willing to plan a trip North to get it done. As it turns out, the price they quoted me was several hundred dollars more than I had been quoted by a local surgeon here in San Diego for the very same thing. No brainer, right? About ten days ago I had the damn thing removed by this local doctor, and am so much happier with how it looks and feels. I feel like if Dr. Vu had just done what I initially went to him for, instead of making me feel like I would look like I had something wrong with me if I didn't, that this could have all been avoided. As it is, I ended up spending another $2,200 to correct this problem down here. I will include a side-by-side photos taken about ten days pre and then post removal, you tell *me* which looks best?
