Our first visit here, will review again after more visits. Family owned restaurant with great service. Food was good, more like home cooking, which we appreciate, and plenty of food for the money.

I must say that I made judgements about how my food and service was going to be at this restaurant before arriving. I must also say that I was very wrong. The food and service here is great. This is clearly a family run restaurant and they are doing a great job. The diversity of the food on the menu and specials board had me worried that they were trying to satisfy all people and in the end everything would be average. My family ordered all Mexican-type food and it was all great. We even ordered dessert which is a rarity for my family.

    Tostadas

The atmosphere was nice. It felt very authentic. Everything also tasted homemade. The salsa they first brought out was very chunky. Personally, I feel like the veggies could be diced a bit more and have a tad bit more of salt for flavor. The tostadas were very tasty. They were pulled pork and I would go again for these tasty tostadas. Best item! My fiancé ordered a green Chile chimichanga. The green Chile was quite sour. I would say easy on the tomatillos & add something to tone down how acidity like some pollo bouillon or roasted Anaheim peppers. The carne inside of it though was so tasty! The 3rd plate i believe it's carne en sus juegos? Overly done with cilantro. I wish I could had that on the side. That sauce had a bit too much salt. But it was a solid 7/10 in taste. The rice looks bland but it has some flavor. The service was great. They attended us every moment & they were very patient. salsas do lack in flavor and aren't too tasty.

My husband's plate was better than mine. He liked it. Carne asada plate.

I will not come back here. I gave 3 stars because my husband enjoyed his plate. My salad was horribly made. The chicken was hard, the corn is straight from a can and it just wasn't appetizing.

Wife and I did Mexican faire and it was very good. (All pictured) I had the enchilada plate Christmas-style and my wife had the chimichanga with shredded beef and green ranchero sauce on the side. The enchiladas were tender and creamy a bit smaller than is typical but the lower price made them a great value and with the rice and refritos they were very filling. My wife found her chimichanga very light and crispy and her shredded beef tender, beefy and mildly spiced. It went very well with the tart and medium spicy ranchero sauce. The rice and beans were perfect and tasty. We split a slice of chocolate cake for dessert and it was delicious, moist and tender and with a very intense chocolate flavor and a chocolate truffle-like frosting.

Bean and cheese nachos with chorizo. As you can see a demolished it before thinking to take a photo.

Delicious food and a nice atmosphere. The bean and cheese nachos with chorizo were great! The guacamole was wonderful. My grandparents enjoyed the oatmeal and huevos rancheros. The wait staff was really friendly. All around a good experience.

Biscuits and gravy, chips and salsa, side of eggs and sausage (skip the bacon). Iced tea no sugar.

As mentioned, the staff, including our waitress, were very friendly. We sat in a covered outdoor area, which had a nice, airy vibe with umbrellas, plants and colors. Overall, the food was pretty good. The chilaquiles were on point. The only thing I would change would be adding a bit more hollandaise sauce to the classic country ham Benedict. You could taste the freshness of the ham, but as a Benedict, it needed more hollandaise. Was I disappointed? Not at all. I would still recommend this place to anyone visiting Cottonwood.

Cafeteria style ordering, gigantic portions, and every sandwich/main course you choose comes with a side dish and a drink! No boring burgers here! The french fries are super tasty, but they are cooked in the same Oil that the chicken fingers are cooked in. (Just in case anyone's vegan friendly). But if you're not, it makes for an extra layer of yumminess! My dad had the bbq pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw topping and fries, I had the turkey sandwich with a pile of Boars Head turkey and jalapeño potato chips, and my guy had a veggie burger with macaroni salad, also worth mentioning the macaroni salad is gluten-free and vegan (but was still actually very flavorful!), so everyone can order something regardless of their diet. They give you lots of time before the train ride to have a meal and do some shopping, and it's a really cute venue. I took pictures of the menu and some of the shopping so you can see the restaurant in the background, and also some of the seating area outside. Very friendly stuff, and my suggestion is to get your gorgeous sandwich and cut it in half, then take the rest on the train with you to eat in a couple of hours! Everything is served in a paper to go box, and condiments and soda / coffee / tea / water machine are located outside for your use.

We are fortunate enough to have friends based in the Cottonwood area that we've visited almost every year since 2018 (pandemic threw a slight wrench one year). Without a doubt every single time we are in Arizona we visit Dutch Bros Coffee at least once a day, if not more. Dutch Bros is more than just coffee, it's an experience. From the moment you pull up to the double sided drive thru you are greeted with easily the friendliest, happiest person on the planet with a tablet and a smile. They always have a recommendation and seem genuinely interested in your day and your coffee choice. If you go there enough they'll quickly know your name and order. I don't know how DBs finds the happiest people on the planet, but without fail every time they do! Once you place your order you pull up to the window to see yet another friendly happy face waiting to repeat your order and deliver the goods. Within moments you'll have some of the, no scratch that -- you'll have the best drive thru coffee available! Dutch Bros tips: 1. Look up the menu ahead of time. There are a ton of options and frankly it can overwhelm you. This isn't a casual mission, do your homework and make an informed decision. 2. If you are lost or confused, ask for help from the Broista®, they know the menu and are ready to help. Every so often Ill spin the wheel (Metaphorically -- there no real wheel) and let the team pick a drink for me. They always hit! 3. Download the app -- make an account and collect points. You'll be surprised at how quickly you can get free drinks. 4. Look out for free sticker day -- I am not positive when they are, but from what I've seen it's around the beginning of the month. Their stickers are amazing! Our favorite drinks are (in no order): 1. The Golden Eagle 2. The BOB 3. The Caramelizer 4. The Jelly Donut 5. Banana Split / Banana Bread
