We had several restaurants to choose from in a small area. We chose Le Cicogne instead of the fast food places nearby,in hopes of finding something tasty. Unfortunately we were disappointed. We tried to order the seafood risotto on the antipasti menu, and were told it takes too long to cook. We then tried to order pizza, and were told pizza was only available at dinner. Considering we had already waited 20 minutes to order our food, we quickly chose something else....the seafood ravioli, and the baked catch of the day. The pasta that I was served was not ravioli. It was just large pieces of noodle, but fortunately it was covered in a tasty white wine sauce. The seafood itself was tender and not at all fishy (however it would have benefited greatly from a pinch of salt). I enjoyed it, but would never go back for it. My husband's fish was just as mediocre. However, it was served with some amazing baked veggies, which helped give the fish a bit more flavor. I really wanted to give this place a better rating because you can tell they are trying to be upscale. The decor inside and outside the restaurant is beautiful, the tables are nicely put together, the wait service is extremely polite, but the food just isn't quite there.

Mediocre food at a high price!…read more Service takes very long because they probably have 4 menus for the entire restaurant, the staff is not trained well because they move slow and are a bit confused about what is going on and the food is just bad! I ordered a Caprese Salad that ia over priced, only to receive a plate with green tomatoes ( remember this is the summer time ) and not olive oil or aceto balsamico. Then I ordered Pesto Pasta... The pasta itself was over cooked and mooshy and the sauce was tasteless and a bit bitter in my oppinion. The prices are way too high for what they are ofering, so keep your money and go somewhere else!!!

There was an obvious favoritism shown to the locals as there was only one couple in the restaurant when we came in and every other table that came in after us was served, ate, drank espressos, and left BEFORE we ever had our food.

What started out as a late lunch while discovering the hillside town of Peccioli. We had ducked in to pick a few pastries from the shining cold-case, and saw that there we tables open, so we said..."Wanna...?" We were so impressed with the food, the savory waffle, the steak tartar, the cheesecake and pastries. The atmosphere and loving family service made us feel like we were locals who had stopped into our regular place. We finished with a rich cup of coffee and Ferretti's famous Biscotti. Those biscotti are sooooo delicious that we had to buy a couple of containers of them for the road.... they traveled with us throughout Italy and we hoarded them for morning coffee each day. Our waiters were the sons of the owners, and they were so charming. They shared with us some of their own travels, especially in the U.S. (our home). Our advice; roam the farmers' market in the town square and, right there, stop into Pasticceria Ferretti. They even have a nice sidewalk seating area in that pedestrian only area. P.S. The town has a great parking garage with a famous modern-art foot bridge.... memorable, photogenic!

Part of me feels like bravo you don't wanna be locked in. But part of me feels like that then you don't want to have to have standards. ‍‍ My husband got the ravioli with spinach and it was "OK". Keep in mind we are American Italian. And so European food is very different in general. You have to have an open mind that it is not going to be like what you're used to. I got the risotto With Chianti wine and it was truly delicious. Although the rice was a little bit al dente for me. The bread was amazing. The olive oil was absolutely top shelf. Made in Luca. They gave us these little pizza bites. That were also actually amazing. The sauce on the pizza bites were fantastic. I think the biggest thing was that I thought I had made a reservation for 8 o'clock. But apparently it was for the next night!! And they squeezed us in anyway! Then I forgot to take pictures as I always do because I'm too busy sticking my face in my food. So I only have pictures of the bread and the pizza bites lol. We got a very interesting dessert that was made in a meringue shell with tart cherries and chocolate and cream, and it was truly a delight. It was very small, but it was all you needed. So I do recommend that. Overall, I think the whole experience was lovely and I would come here again.

The vegetable flan with fondue was bland, osso bucco good, and penne with meat sauce was also good (a little too salty for me). Cheesecake was also bland but recommended by the waiter. The restaurant is not friendly towards those with mobility challenges. There's a cute exterior covered patio with a few dining tables but too cold for dinner in mid-February. Prices were fair. Interior is really charming with bookshelves lining all the walls and heavy with books and wine. Family friendly.

DINNER REVIEW I'm…read moregenerally no fan of traditional local restaurants since my mum is a pro in making Tuscan food, but I was brought here by a few friends coming from Piemonte and I was extremely glad they opened my eyes on this little corner. The restaurant is outside the center, in a more "industrial area" and this is why it is probably the one you want to go if you're on a business trip and would like to have some serious cooking before heading to bed. They also have an interesting new deal, since you can buy the products you eat, directly in the restaurant. The selection is wide: cured meats, the famous steak, home made jams, Tuscan cheese, jellies, durum wheat pasta, tomatoes, pickled veggies, olives, paté and of course wines and liquors. You can make your purchase online as well. As for my dinner, it was simply special: Appetizers of pickled onions, artichokes, eggplant, dried tomatoes, olives, olives paté on bread, selection of cheese with two different jams, the incredibly tasty vegetarian little tart, drowned in melted cheese Main course: tagliatelle with Porcini mushrooms, divine Second course: Florentine steak, fried mushrooms and fried vegetables All to be appreciated with different kinds of Dosio wines. It's enough to feel happy at the end of such a meal!

We'd been given the recommendation by an acquaintance and were delighted to find that the patrons of the restaurant were all Italian. I think it's fair to say that we were the only Spanglish-speaking patrons there. Although the restaurant was quite busy, we were quickly seated and the service was exceptional. If you're looking for a meal of pizza or pasta, this isn't the place to go. But, if you're looking for fresh fish or meat, you've found treasure. Most impressive i'd say is their wine list, which looks more like several volumes of an encyclepdia glued together. To say it's extensive would be a gross understatement. The food itself was extremely fresh and flavorful, but my favorite part of our meal was the delicious chocolate cake and the complimentary digestivo. If you're in Pietrasanta, DO NOT miss this amazing little restaurant!
