Amazing foods the shrimp is our favorite. Priced a little higher but worth the extra price. Order ahead and carry out or get delivery. So worth going to Bob's Shrimp. read more

AWESOME! I love you Bob! Best shrimp EVER! Seriously, the best fried shrimp I have ever had. A+++ on the hot shrimp sauce as well. I can't wait to go back. I didn't have to slap my mama cuz it was so good, she was sitting right next to me, slappin' herself! A week later she was still talking about how good the shrimp was (ok, I was too) but I will quote her in saying "I had heartburn for 4 days after eating that shrimp. It was worth it!" This shrimp is what Willis was talkin' 'bout! Don't pass up the opportunity to get yerself some shrimp here! read more

I always go to Ray's shrimp in Gary had no idea this existed! Now I don't have to drive too far for shrimp when I'm in town! The husband loved the catfish so much we are heading back for seconds today. The wait wasn't long. They only accept cash but there's an atm onsite for those like me who don't carry cash. All in all, it was a good experience. read more

They keep it simple.... and good. Huge, fresh shrimp at a reasonable price. They have been around for awhile and the quality has remained the same. Cash only read more

Bob's Shrimp - Now open on monday!! Wooo hooo! - Seafood Near Me - Hammond, Indiana

I made a special stop at Bob's Shrimp after watching my local food hero Phil eat there on youtube. The video is called Chicago Fat Phil Eating Bobs Shrimp- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NulVZ69mlbA My girlfriend and I were on the homestretch of a Lake Michigan circle tour. We drove all the way around and were just the Skyway away from our cat, who possibly had run out of food. But I pulled off the highway and I'm glad I did. We split the extra large shrimp, one pound. They were cleaned, tasty and addicting. For sauces we opted for the Louisiana hot and the tartar- it tasted the best mixed together. My cat even ate a bite of fish when we got home. I tipped five dollars and you should too. read more

Hello, I have tried Sharks, Something Good, Rays, and Calumet Fisheries. BOBS SHRIMP is the best Carry Out to me. It was recommended to me by an old friend who lives in the area. And has been there a long time. The place is not that inviting but wow the shrimp is GREAT. You can get Large or Jumbo. They have all kind of Fish such as Perch, Scallops, Oysters etc. Even the Fried Mushrooms and Cole slaw were great. A must try if you like Fresh Fried Shrimp. read more

Started eating there when they were in the old place across the street (late 80's, early 90's, long before Yelp and iPhone). My buddy and I would buy a pound and park around the corner and consume while they were still piping hot. It don't get any better than that! Lightly breaded, seasoned just right, simply delicious. The drive for me is about 30 miles from home, but well worth it occasionally. The area is not impressive and the store is 'carry-out' only. No eat-in, which is ok by me. Haven't tried too many other things on the menu. I love shrimp! read more

We got there before the lunch rush on this past Friday. The food was fresh and not a long wait. Thank you all~ Tina read more

Good more times than it isn't. Definitely some of the best shrimp in the area ( wayyyyy better than Lawrence Fisheries) Large 1/2 pound is under 8 dollars enough to fill me up. I get it with mild cocktail sauce!!! Enjoy, you won't regret this visit. :) all smiles after eating here:) read more

Some of the best fried seafood around. I've been visiting Bobs for years and they never disappoint.

Won't go Back, Good Shrimp , But we called to place order for pick up and were told To place Order for pickup minimum order Is $40, That Is Crazy! 95th has Great Shrimp and we can call order in. read more

I called to place an order and was told that they don't take phone orders under $40?? They want people to come in and place their order and wait during lent when lines can get long? Excuse me but there is a value to my time as well. This place is good but not great. There are other options in this area that are great, such as Club 81, Steve's, and Heinies. All of these other places believe in the convenience of phone orders and value the time savings to their customers. Therefore, I will not be returning to your restaurant to stand in line, then, to wait in your uninviting waiting room. Also, friendly service is desperately lacking in this place. read more

Love me some Bobs Shrimp! There's only 3 places for seafood worth a damn. Bobs, 95th st and Lawrence's. Whenever I'm nearby I've gotta stop and they never disappoint read more

Amazing shrimp as you will not find any better fried shrimp than this. Consistent and their sauce is just as good

Bob's is the sister company to my favorite shrimp spot in Chicago - Shrimp Express, in Calumet City. Therefore......... love Shrimp Express = love Bob's Better than goose island, WAY better than lawerence fisheries..... give both of them a try if you are ever in the area. That's it. read more

You might find yourself asking "why do people come to this little shack? They can't eat there, it's pricey, it's cash only, it's out of the way. What is the attraction?" Well, all of that pales in comparison to the fact that this is the best shrimp in the Midwest, hands down! I commute from Chicago, so I usually have to get down on my batch right in the parking lot, if I want it hot. Doesn't matter - it's still worth it! I recommend a pound of the jumbo shrimp, and an extra cocktail sauce, because 1 is never enough for me. I've only had seafood like this in the Bahamas and new Orleans. Do your taste buds a favor and try it out. read more

Bob's Shrimp is my SPOT for friiiiiied shrimp ;D! Was introduced to this place my by closest pal, Willyboy, and his dad during my visits to Indiana with those two. I always order a pound of jumbo shrimp, mild sauce, an extra mild sauce, and a pop ;) Everything's always fresh and tastes amazing!! One thing to note is that they only accept cash, so be prepared with that green paper, or be forced to use the $3 fee ATM located inside :o read more

Love the jumbo shrimps are huge and perfectly cooked and crispy always have daily specials that are pretty good

Love their jumbo shrimp, but their sauce makes the whole meal. I always find myself craving more. Best place to get shrimp!

Shrimp'ly Aamzing! For real - how is this place not 5's across the board?!? No gimmicks No cheddar biscuits No BS YOU GET WHAT YOU ORDER HERE! Great food at very reasonable prices and its in the midwest area... PLEASE! Just went to Gulfport, Miss and ate at several inferior seafood establishments in comparison... Eat up Chi-Town eat up!! read more

Food is very fresh & employees are friendly. Only con is the food lacks flavor! A little pricey on the catfish... Ok but I've had much better seafood from a carryout. read more

Yes! For shrimp, my experience with fish was on the soggy side w breading, I love walleye but... the fish itself wasnt very fresh...isnt the cleanest place in town either...stars all the way for the shrimp though!! Just when you order here make sure you have a defibrillator on the side read more

They use to have great shrimp, the last time I bought shrimp from Bob Shrimp tasted spoiled! This is gonna be the last time I go to Bob Shrimp!! I'm not gonna waste my money with them again! Simply Seafood on 5516 Broadway, in Merrillville, also sold me bad shrimp, it is the same owner, just a different name!! read more

The best fried shrimp in the continental United States of 'Merica. It's a must every time I touch down in Chicago. The shrimp are huge, like 3 bites big, and the breading is crispy and light at the same time. I don't know how they do it, but I do promise it's worth the stop if you're anywhere within driving range. Flying range too actually... read more

This is the best place for shrimp. I've been coming here since I was young and drive 1hr to get shrimp just for Bobs.

so i went in to order last night.... around 9:30 and as i walk thur the door i see a deal for xl shrimp dinner for 12.95.... i instantly think like ... ok great!!! sounds like a good deal... only for the cashier to tell me they only have "medium" shrimp!!.. now first i was mad because idk how u run outta shrimp!!.. howeva the medium that i order was good!!. along wit the "spicy garlic" sauce!!!.hopefully they have xl shrimp today!! read more

Their fried jumbo shrimp are like crack! I love their spicy cocktail sauce too! Remember to bring cash as that is all they accept.

This pain is serving meal kits, as well as offering delivery during Covid. I'm glad! Nothing beats the in person experience but delivery is a great second option right now . Food still tastes great! read more

Yuuuuuuuuum! Drive extra 10 mins to get this and was worth my extra time! highly recommended!

Best shrimp in the region. This place keeps it simple and they're not kidding when they say jumbo shrimp. Well worth the price. It's a good idea to call your order in. read more

Had this for dinner the other night. Foods not bad, place wasn't so clean so I don't know if I'll be back. And they only take cash. I'm a girl that never carries any cash (yes I know it's bad) so if u check it out just make sure u have cash. read more

I always have to get my fix while I'm in The Region. Shrimp are always fried to perfection and the sauces (mild and hot) are like crack. Make sure you bring cash because they do not accept any other form of payment. Service is hit or miss but I'm not sure I'd be the happiest camper with some of the customers they have to deal with. Prices have surely gone up over the years but it hasn't deterred me from going yet. read more

I have eaten here many times and enjoy the shrimp dinners. Unfortunately Bobs has lost me as a customer during lunchtime. They will not allow a phone order for under $40. I would much rather phone ahead and have my order ready when I get there. read more

Best shrimp around but if you go there they only take cash only so just a tip I don't know how they are still open but I guess the shrimp is so good people come from all over to get food from here I talked with a man one time in there he told me drives a hour every week to get Bob's Shrimp so they are doing something right read more

Was great, now under new management and sucks. Uses different oil, greasy and tastes literally like cardboard. To save a little money they will sacrifice quality. They will learn when business starts to dip I guess. read more

The most unbelievable fried shrimp in the world! A pound of Jumbo Shrimp is where its at. Soo good they don't have to serve it with anything but a pack of crackers. As far as I'm concerned, Indiana is pretty lame, with a place like Bob's... it's worth taking a trip. PLEASE OPEN A CHICAGO LOCATION!!!! you guys would BANK! SERIOUSLY!!!! read more
