The guy we spoke to on the phone helped us immediately after we came in and was very honest about not purchasing tires if we plan on selling it and the ones we had were in great condition. I really appreciated his honesty. We are having this noise when we are turning which made us think it was tires. He was nice and said to bring it in back to see if they could help us figure out what the sound is. He checked it out and said it was steering fluid that was needed. Didn't charge us a thing. We wanted to tip him but we didn't have cash. He said no problem just to come back in the future. We will definitely be back. read more

My family and I have been going to Bob's for over 15 years. Sadly, we will no longer be going here. To either location. Over the past year or so, three different times with different members of the family and different vehicle, we were told that our existing tire size was "uncommon" and that they did not have 1 or 2 (whatever we needed) in that size, but they could sell us a set of 4 in a more common sizes. We believed them the first time, then a year later Vince tried to tell us the same thing, obviously not remembering that he sold us the "common size" a year or less before. This has become a nightmare, and lots of tire sizes are interchangeable with the wheels. We used to tell everyone about the great service at Bob's but now we have to tell everyone not to go to Bob's as they are no longer honest and trustworthy. This place doesn't deserve a single star. The staff is extremely rude and all they try to do is to get as much money out of you as possible. I came there to change 1 tire (because mine was really bold and I needed to change it ASAP) I told the front desk person the size of the tire I needed then he asked to go see my vehicle. As soon as he saw the car I drove (he figured that it is his time to shine and rip me off) he told me that a USED tire for my car will be $100 + disposing fee around $20 + labor around $30. I said that that's too much for me, and the worker told me to go somewhere else to change your tire. So I went down the street found a shop and they changed my tire for $50 and no extra fees. The person who owns this place clearly has something up his ass. Don't go here, save your money and time. read more

I had tires delivered to Bob's to put on my wife's Prius, and they charged me $40 less to install and balance them than any other place I called. And they bought my old tires for $30. I am always looking for the best deal out there, and these guys were it. The place doesn't exactly have a lot of fung shue (picture stacks of tires just far enough apart to allow you into the office), but that type of thing isn't high on my list of priorities for a tire shop. Also, there is no central heating or cooling, so you will freeze your @ss off in winter and melt in summer in their waiting room, so try to have your tires go out in spring :) Update: I replaced the tires on my own Prius with used tires from Bob's. They cost about $90 per pair. When the first set reduced my mileage per gallon by 20%, they honored their warranty and replaced them with a different set. They looked at me a little funny, but such is the burden of being an eco-conscious prius driver! read more

I totally trust these guys especially Vince!! Love them for so many reasons but especially because most people lie to me being a girl and all just to get a sale. Example, I came to Bob's one time for a new tire because of a nail. They didn't have to check anything because another shop already said it was popped and It was going to go flat at any minute. So I went to Bob's to get a tire. Well they checked it and showed me that it wasn't popped at all. There was a nail but it was very short and didn't even get through the tread. First off I wanna say these guys are awesome and have a great customer service and I've never had an issue with them besides finding a used tire in my size. I got a couple of the same tire which was a 275 35 18 that had to be rated for over 140 miles an hour and yes I know you shouldn't be getting used performance tires but I go through them so fast that I refused to pay for a brand new one when I needed one every couple weeks. But they did their hardest to get me the closest tire size or do you call around to other locations to see if they can get me the tire and always made sure that I was comfortable with my purchase and even gave me advice when I bent a wheel they told me to go to a place that I had a great experience with so I trust these people 100% read more

"Yes, we open at 8. You don't need an appointment, unless what you have is an RV or something huge. Otherwise, com'on in." That's what the guy told me over the phone, when I asked about bringing my 4 tires in to be installed, if it's the day after Christmas. I wasn't trying to be difficult, picking the day when people would rather show up at work a few minutes late. When your current tires are near bald, you try to get them replaced asap with winter firmly in place. Turned out I got my ducks lined up the day before Christmas. After morning coffee, I drove to Bob's and arrived at 7:53am. I was prepared to sit and wait. But, what's this.. Neon light flashed OPEN, front door swung wide, gigantic tire rolled out and standing proud. I followed instinct and drove to the back, shut the engine down with blinkers on. Looking straight at the empty and ready service bays. It's real. Open before 8. I got in from the back, deliberately slow, still a bit worried I'd be pissing someone off, barging in before their official hours. One guy was cleaning up the tire mounting area. "Are you guys open?" "Oh yes. We open as soon as we arrive!" How's that compared to your other normal shopping experience? So I brought the car into the bay, unloaded my new tires and went to the lobby area to wait. Two more customers showed up before my car was done. One was a young lady, still in her tire shopping stage. She wasn't talked down to, hit on, or being misled. I wasn't following to eavesdrop, but that much I could report. Looked into the bay again; time was 8:09. The guy already lowered my car back on the ground. HAND TORQUING THE BOLTS to spec. (In case you're not aware: air torque wrenches could exert too much force and damage threads of the bolts/wheel. Hand torquing with a torque wrench is the method taught at mechanic's school. Depending on the shop, this right approach may or may not be in practice.) 8:13, I was done. Charges was precisely what was quoted during my first call. 16inches rim? 15 bux, plus 2.50 recycling fee for the old tire. Times 4 = 70 dollars total. Recap: Opened early, client received just as early Young female client treated the same as myself Correct approach to the job at hand Proficiency Quote same as final charge All I did beyond paying was thanking the mechanic for hand torquing. He did it without any request. To best guarantee your experience as satisfying as mine, I recommend to arrive by 7:55am. But seriously, if I have a flat tire or one low on air, I head directly for Bob's. These guys are great: very affordable and oh-so-super efficient. They'll yank of the faulty tire, check it carefully for damage, then patch it up and pop it back on if it's reparable. On top of being speedy, courteous, and efficient, they won't try to shove a new tire down your throat. Of the four times I've had to go there, only once did they have me replace a tire, and they demonstrated to me that it really needed it. If there's any drawback to the place, it's a little sketchy looking, which is unfortunate since the guys seem generally pretty professional. read more

I had a slow leak in my tire and Bob's is around the corner from my house so I took my car there. I would give this place 5 stars, however one of the guys there is INCREDIBLY rude. He has ZERO customer service skills whatsoever. However, there was one guy that saved the day. My husband had taken my car over there the day before, but the guy he spoke to was so rude, my husband left and told me to take the car back myself. I had to wait about 20 minutes after I walked in, to get my tire checked. I didn't think it was that long, but after the nice guy came out and told me there was a nail in my tire and since I had to wait "so long", they were not going to charge me. I thought that was a really nice gesture. The place is no frills, and this was my first experience with them. Great service, great prices! They had to order my tires but picked them up promptly and returned to the shop quickly. I ran errands while they got my tires. Within an hour, I came back and they put the new tires on within 20 minutes. They also put my spare back in my trunk and cleaned up the trunk upholstery where I had been hauling around my damaged tire. Definitely will recommend these guys. I do not review often and only when a place is awesome. I just finished at Bob's and have a story that illustrates why you should go here. I found a nail in my tire on Monday. I swung by to have it repaired. ($15 cheaper then Big O.) Done in about 30 minutes. The location of the nail must have been difficult because in repairing the tire they damaged the tire and two days after the repair the tire went flat again. Now when I had the repair done I was in a hurry so I didn't even wait for a receipt. So on Saturday I brought the tire back, no receipt and explained the situation. They looked at the tire and said yep it was ruined and replaced it with a new tire no questions asked. In and out again in about 45 minutes. Good, honest and upstanding. I recently had the unpleasant experience of a flat tire on the I-5 highway. Expecting the worst I immediately called in unavailable to work for tomorrow and was excused. After a good friend helped me on my way on a 50-50 spare, I drove home "40/20". I foresaw no way of changing my tires before 9. But I checked Bob's Tires' weekly hours and it showed "Open 7am." So I went in. I asked the mechanic to check the other tires too. There was only one good tire! He and I agreed to change ALL of my tires and gave me a $10 credit for the good one. He charged only $35 per tire, so the total came to $130 for a matching set of four. He had it ready in under 30 minutes. The employees seemed really nice and knowledgeable. The only thing i dont like are the fees. This place is getting expensive. There are too many fees for a used tire. I been coming here since 2008. I never complained about the fee but now i am. $30 for used tire $15. Mount and balance $3.50 for disposal fee ( i saw online the disposal fee for CA is $ 1.75 a tire? ) Total out the the w tax is $50.83. Theres a few other used tire shops in Carmichael and most of them are charging $40 out the door. I feel like im over paying when i come here so i dont think i will be returning. read more

$45 out the door for a 225/55/18 tire. Dudes were legit, quoted the price over the phone, said they had 8 tires in that size and it appears I will get about 15,000k miles off this one. Price includes mounting and balancing and labor and tax. Warranty good for 90 days. They have a couple garage spaces behind the place where they install new and used tires for people. The two guys working there are sports fans so we had a good conversation while they went about their business. I would recommend this place since they are honest, cool and do good work. read more

My alignment was off on my Acura and was simply going to get a new car, but couldn't do so for another year. I was losing tread on the inside of both front tires because of the alignment, so I looked these guys up to get used tires since new tires made no sense given my alignment problem. I had gone to them, told them about my situation, and they didn't try to upsell me or anything. They said that because of the alignment, I should just get the cheapest used tires since the alignment will wear them down abnormally and getting new tires makes no sense financially. They replaced them multiple times until I finally got a new car, and even game me a discount each time due to my situation.
