Finally, what should be a short review!…read more If you happen to be like me and get a simple haircut, but for some reason slightly fear your standard barbershop, then this is a great spot in the Haymarket area... clean, friendly without being overly chatty, and cheap as chips for a gents scissors cut. The gentlemen who has cut my hair the last two visits moves so fast that if you're a glasses wearer you can't help but feel he's chopped holes all over the place, but luckily I've been pleasantly surprised come the moment I reapply my spectacles on both occasions. The place itself is a cute/cool mix of old school barber (white and red) with a lounge feel twist (dark wood and leather couches).. and it works for the relatively small place. While I almost feel odd giving a barbershop five stars I can't think of a reason to fault the place aside from the fact that they don't accept cards, but the prices counterbalance that fact regardless. I'm also not sure how extensive their services are, but it doesn't advertise to be the new Toni & Guy, etc., so I can't really fault it there either.

The place is small and only 2 people can be taken cared of at a time, but if you go at certain times you won't need to wait. (You'll have to become a regular at this place to find that info for yourself ) The 2 barbers here welcomes everyone's and are skilled at what they do. Tell them what you want and they'll cut your hair the way you like. If you're not happy and you want more trimmings and cutting, they'll do it for you until your satisfied. If you like getting the typical fohawk, trim, haircut, or shave, they can do it for you. Haircut starts at £9 and if you're a student with a card it's £8. These guys enjoy what they are doing and take pride with what they do. Since I'm a regular, I've gotten to know them so it's always nice to get my haircut. I first booked a hot towel shave to be done by Graeme and as I'd never had one before he talked me through the service and after a few more visits, it was time for a haircut, going from barber to barber for a while had taken its toll on my confidence of allowing someone new to cut my hair but Graeme, asked me what style I'd like, how I'd had it cut in the past etc and he gave me a haircut that I was thoroughly happy with! Either the barber is irritating and antagonistic, he/she is ridiculously rough with your scalp or it's insanely overpriced. Thankfully, Richmond Barbers doesn't succumb to any of these pitfalls. The service is friendly, unimposing and give you a quick, decent haircut. The mood inside is welcoming and chilled out with nice music playing in the background. When I was in I was seen to within about ten minutes and it only cost about £5 which I thought was very reasonable.
