I brought in brand new shoes for them to put plastic taps on the toe. Although I have several pairs, i do this to most of my shoes and boots so they won't run down. I am able to keep shoes for several years. When I dropped them off the guy attached the tag with a safety pin. Who sticks a hole in brand new shoes?!?! When I returned to pick them up he put metal plates on the toes instead of plastic taps. The guy had the audacity to say that's what I asked for. Why would I want to clackety clack my ass all night? Then He says it'll last longer than a plastic tap. I had him fix it right then. At some point he punctured holes in both shoes. Grrrrrr. I'm so angry. read more

I took a pair of shoes to have new heels placed on a pair of leather navy blue shoes. I also need a little bit of gluing. I thought $35 was quite expensive for this but because it was a good pair of leather shoes I went ahead and left them. Went back and they had lost the ticket for my shoes, I was able to find my navy blue shoes that we're now black. Of course, he was unable to return them back to navy blue. Very upset. I will never go back. Never made any attempts to call or rectify the issue. read more

Terrible service and in my opinion I experienced. Dropped a belt to get 1 clasp worked on. They said it would take a week. Waited a week. Got there still wasn't done. They attempted to do it on site but half assed the job and was terrible. Avoid at all costs. read more

My wife dropped off a pair of Bass leather loafers for new soles, after a few days she called and they said they had lost her shoes, would look for them, and call her back. They never called so she called the next day and they said they were still looking for them and would call her back. Again they did not call. My wife called them again and they said they found them and were working on them, she could pick them up later in the day which was a Friday. She said she would pick them up Monday morning. When she arrived at the store they were still working on them in the back, put them in a plastic bag, and said they were still wet and she should not handle them for at least a half an hour. She paid for them and came home. When she arrived home she took them out of the bag and she was shocked to find one of the shoes had a slash-cut in the leather, about over an inch long, right in the front of the shoe, then repaired with a piece of leather from another show (that did not match) and it all looked terrible. When she called to complain she was told the owner was busy in the back, no apology, and he would be made aware of the situation. This is unacceptable behavior, first damaging the shoe, then trying to cover it up with a poor patch job, then not mentioning it to my wife, and even hiding the shoes in a plastic bag and being told not to touch them for a half hour, long enough to get paid and have her leave the store. Buyer beware review... I had two pairs of shoes to be repaired. One needed a new heel and one needed a new sole. It was a rubber sole. The shoe's original sole was a thin sole with a slight heel. I was asked to get the shoes yesterday at a specific time in the afternoon. When I got there, I was told he was working on them then and for return the next day. (No apology or explanation... just to come back) So I rescheduled time out to return. When I got the shoe today, the sole was more than twice the height of my original sole... a completely different thing than it did have The shoe now looks quite bulky and, in my opinion, completely different than it did originally. I asked the attendant at the counter if this was the only rubber sole and he said it was. Again, tone matters, and he shrugged off a "well, that's how it it" vibe... When I said it was completely different than it was originally, he shrugged the same way he did the day before about the shoes not being done when he said they were. Here's the mixed review part... It's great work and I'm glad I have one of the pairs in such great shape again. So, the "buyer beware" is to not assume the customer service person will be of any actual service. I mean, I just assumed he might have told me that the only rubber sole they had looked absolutely nothing like I was giving him and to expect a completely different product when I got it back. I believe the cost for the new sole was over $50 (which is a fine price for such fine work) but again, was nothing like I asked for. In brief, Bob's does fine work, just know exactly what you are asking for before you walk away and lower your expectations that the service person will inform you of details you just might not think too ask or have any bedside manor. read more

I brought luggage that was under lifetime warranty to Bob's, as they were the only repair service in town. Frank kept saying he'd fill out the paperwork for the manufacturer to approve him as a repair service, so he could be reimbursed. Well, for more than a year, he procrastinated, but he did the handle repairs anyway. Every one of the repairs he did has broken again very quickly, and some brought back to him for redoing, which also broke again. The workmanship and materials used were of horrible quality. When I finally called the luggage company myself, I found out that those handles are no longer available and they would replace the piece of luggage that had just broken. Since Frank had poorly repaired other pieces of luggage without company authorization, the company would no longer warranty the handles (that Frank had repaired). If Frank had done what he was supposed to have done initially, I'd have all new replacement luggage. But now I have old luggage with broken handles that Frank had "repaired." Yeah, he fixed me good (sarcasm). Avoid this guy. His workmanship is real garbage. My husband is ordering compatible handles online and going to do the repairs himself. He has already replaced one that Frank had repaired, and it is holding up well. I guess my husband could find a new line of work repairing luggage! Certainly better than the only guy in town now. They charged me $16.05 to sloppily apply glue to my pair of Stacey Adams dress shoes while damaging the leather sole of the other shoe while prying apart to apply glue. The most disturbing part is they did NOT own up to their God awful workmanship accusing me of bringing my own shoes in damages condition. read more
