Great finds, but everything is pretty overpriced. Unfortunately, the experience at the counter…read morereally killed it for me. When I said I was paying with my card, the person working there looked at me like I was stupid and went on a weird hypothetical rant about how he'd lose money if he accepted card payments. He even asked what I'd do if all systems shut down and we couldn't rely on technology which was completely unnecessary and made no sense whatsoever. He then asked me and the people I was with if none of us had three dollars in cash, which was honestly something I've never experienced at any business before. If there's a card minimum, just say so or put up a sign. It really isn't that hard. The whole interaction was uncomfortable and off-putting. On top of that, we overheard him loudly giving a random kid what sounded like awful work advice basically encouraging him to expect being yelled at on the job. The conversation was so loud we could hear it throughout the store. Not appropriate, and not something customers should have to listen to. So ya, put up a sign.

A very cool comic shop with a lot to offer for comic fans…read more With their ever-present Halloween decor and surprisingly organized interiors, Gotham Comics is not your run of the mill comic shop. From new issues to back log, everything has a neat and tidy place, making browsing quick and effortless. They place a variety of mid-level rare comics ranging in price from $15 to $40 near most of the comic shelves, which make for both excellent window shopping and dangerous impulse purchases. They have a nice selection of old and new comics, mostly from DC and Marvel, so Gotham might not be great if you're looking for more obscure or niche comic brands. Similarly, this is a comic shop first, and things like games have a small presence. I also have to mention the staff working at Gotham. The employee was super helpful, going above and beyond in looking for issues that I couldn't immediately find. He made my visit feel extra special. The only downside with this comic shop is that it isn't located closer to my home! Otherwise I'd go there every week!

Quaint little comic book shop that totally gives off the "local comic shop" vibe from the 90's…read more Take it for what it is, and don't expect it to have everything you're looking for. But if you're looking for mainstream new releases, chances are you'll find them on release day (maybe the week after too). Not too much else to look at, especially collectibles, so your visit will probably be a whole lot shorter than other comic book shops (which is better for your wallet). But if you're in the area and you're in a pinch for that new Batman comic, this is your place. It was a hot day when I visited and they just had a couple floor fans running. Nothing gets me out of a comic book shop faster than sweaty hands on loose/unbagged books. And for parking, expect to circle around a couple times (plan to pay for a meter). But service is super friendly and they take card. And like I said, for what it is/does it's still a 5 star place

First off the owner is a super nice and helpful guy. He told me his backstory that he had visited the same store as a child and now is the proud owner. They have wall to wall comic books - mostly teen and up. They had a small section for small kids super hero books. There selection overall was abundant. Prices were fair and reasonable. Like all boys early in their life, I used to be into comic books. Now, not so much. After going to Deweys, maybe that can change things. Go and browse. Support your local small business. *Oh and the reason why he calls it the Batman Bookstore is because there is a rather large lit up Bat signal in the window. Enjoy!

Be aware, that this shop is small, and gets crowded fast if a few people are in it. Shop has a good selection of new pull comics spread around the shop and graphic novels. Fair selection of various collectibles and some longboxes. Normally I wouldn't review a shop like this as it's very average. However, I've almost always walked out of here with at least one comic or pop vinyl. White Dragon is also the best shop in the metro Stroudsburg area for comics, and the best for miles in every direction. For these reasons they deserve a good review.

Unfortunately, the condition of those back-issue books rarely reflects the significantly higher prices they charge. As an avid comic collector and seller myself, I'm well aware of market value. And their prices are well -above- market value. Keep in mind, this is only regarding their back issues. The new release section had standard new-release pricing and was well stocked. So if I ever decide to visit again, it will only be for the new releases and nothing else.
