The only reason I'm even giving one star is because that's the only option. After almost $5,000 worth of flooring was ordered we waited patiently for the install. We were promised a certified installer but instead I was sent two guys that we later found out weren't even directly affiliated with them. They were subbed out. Paid extra to have our fireplace undercut, it wasn't. All the walls were scratched up. The NEW floors were completely scratched all over. The transitions were not even the right color and the cuts they were supposed to make were not right. Here I am 6 months later and Melissa doesn't return calls and doesn't follow through with her promise to have someone come out to repair and replace. I am beyond sick of calling. I went to the store last week, left a written message and here I am almost a week later and no word from anyone. Guess I have to hire an attorney like other reviewers have done. This is crap. At first I arranged a measuring through the website and they came out did the measuring and then disappeared, no response from them and no feedback So I called the store on 98N and spoke with Melissa and explained what happened, explained that their store was recommend and did a family members floorping and scheduled her to go out and measure so we could get this project started. She gave me her cell number and told me that she would be there on a set day and time. 2 days before I text her to confirm, no reply. The day before I text her in the morning, no reply. I called the store and left a message and still no reply. I guess this company doesn't need my business and that's ok I'll hire someone else to do my floors but I want to make sure I tell as many people as I can to not waste their time with this company! read more

YOU MUST READ THIS BEFORE HIRING BOB'S FROM ANY BRANCH!!! Hired Bob's Carpet & Flooring in Lakeland, Florida. They hired David Demolition & Flooring LLC to handle the install. Bob's does not install themselves. They primarily rely on contractors to handle the install. After 2 attempts, they could not get all the carpet in my house installed with the same color carpet. After two attempts they failed to stretch the carpet properly and failed to attach the carpet to the nail strips. With the vinyl, we specifically asked for loose lay, no glue. The installer they hired used pressure sensitive glue on my plywood floors. The install was so bad (they ruptured the vinyl backing, the floor had so many bubbles, and some cutting work looked like a two year old with scissors did it) that the floor had to be taken up. On attempts to remove the vinyl, they pulled layers of the plywood subfloor apart. When pullling the vinyl didn't work, they got a walk-behind machine and ended up gouging the floor to death. I put in a claim to both insurance companies. Bob's insurance company said that Bob's did not add glue to the order and that the subcontractor took it upon themselves to find glue and use it, so their insurer denied the claim. David Demolition & Flooring insurer said that Bob's provided glue and did not write "no glue" on the order and did not tell them, so their insurer denied the claim. Neither company has done anything to resolve the issue. The estimated cost of replacing my floor to as near the condition it was, is over$19,000.00. These are the facts. Now, here is my opinion. Bob's preys on the people who enter their sales floors. People looking for the discounts Bob's offers, are usually not the rich. Bob's gets away with their conduct because Florida does not create a law to protect the consumer from the likes of these businesses and does not allow for recovery of legal fees in the kind of lawsuit that would be initiated in this instance. The consumer, usually the poor consumer, is taken to the cleaners by Bob's and Bob's knows that the poor consumer can not pay an attorney to take the case. Likewise, the poor consumer would end up paying the attorney more than the cost of damages.....and Bob's knows this all too well and takes full advantage. I don't have alot of money, but I fully plan on taking Bob's Carpet & Flooring and David Demolition & Flooring, LLC to small claims court. I won't be able to sue for the full amount of my damages, but it is time for a court to save record of how this company operates. Until these two companies make right, I plan to shout my situation from the mountaintop and never stop. Use your voice people. Spread the word about Bob's and what you have read. Go look at all the complaints at the Small Business Administration. The only good reviews I have read about this company are reviews on websites that Bob's hosts. read more

I gave Bob's 28 days to complete my almost $5,000 tile order and install before writing a review, wanting to give every opportunity for them to "make things right". Great friendly guys up through point of sale, assuring "they take care of everything". It all unraveled quickly. ERROR #1. They wrote my contract based on blueprints but when they found a/their mistake in calculating, they said "it wasn't a final contract" and upcharged me days later. ERROR #2. They wrote it the day BEFORE a $500 sale month began but apparently now it was a final contract and wouldn't honor the sale. ERROR #3. They told me they had 12 months same as cash, but didn't tell me it was a credit card with a minimum monthly balance and monthly fee potential. ERROR #4. They said they would not charge a dime until the first day of onsite work. Wrong they put in half the amount 20 days BEFORE the first day of work. ERROR #5. (won't count any more but you see where this is going.) Bob's said they used inhouse tile certified installers in teams of 2 to 4. They sent me a subcontracted "handyman" who worked solo with little experience who was not prepared with supplies and hadn't been background checked. They said they paid installers $3/square but the installer showed me they pay them $2/square (with a quarter to the middleman, GQ Services of Tampa and a quarter to Bob's). Guessing Bob's got the bonus $700 install fee difference, between what I was told the cost was and what the installer really got. Bob's said it was a 4 day job. It took the guy 8 days to finish. The guy was late 1 to 3 hours a day and no showed one day. I called with concerns within 2 hours of his arrival and 2 successive times with no support given by the manager except "have patience". He tore my bed sheets & box spring & loveseat by dragging to move it. (I went out and paid for coasters for him since Bob's sent no support.) He had to tear out tile 5 times in 3 days due to breaking the simple pattern. I later found out his last entire job was torn out it was so defective. When he finished with mine, 19+ tiles were installed chipped, 30+ tiles were hollow (on dry mortar), the haze was not removed and there were mortar ant hills up the baseboard corners. Though I could see this was not gonna be good from the start, management refused to come out, did not send help and wanted assurance to be "we warranty the work, don't worry". They said the floor is warrantied so I immediately began the warranty process. I'm in Day 27 of not having my belongings moved back to the new floors, waiting for a finish. The first day the correction guy who was supposed to be their best guy NO SHOW'd, the second day he was supposed to come at 11 and didn't show until 6 pm, the third day he was supposed to be here at 9 a.m. and said he "might" make 5:30 pm. Bob's, who "takes care of everything" now says they have no control over the third party installers. At no time have they discussed a price adjustment for bad work or nightmare inconvenience. I'm still waiting for a solution but thought maybe I could save one person from the experience with my story since they are in no rush to resolve. In my thousands of reviews, this would be the worst. 1/2016. Took four months to resolve with all my livingroom & bedroom furniture in my kitchen! Hiring a lawyer helped. Entire floor was removed (removing really messed up entire house, had to have it professionally cleaned and interior entirely repainted.) They reimbursed for the bad labor (about half the job) but nothing for furniture damage, paint, etc. Bob's should be ashamed of its practices. Buyer should beware. Seriously. read more

This was by FAR THE WORST!!!!!!! The worst place I have ever had the unpleasure of doing business at!!!!! They came out and over measured and charged me for extra flooring that I can't even use!!!! Next they did a horrible installation job(started bubbling up everywhere)!!!! They told me some spots were normal and would go away. Not even after 3 months the laminate flooring was coming up!!!! The women that took care of all this from Bobs set me up with a "Bobs carpet installer" and now they won't fix the repairs and it's been less than 6 months!!!!!!! I called Bobs and they said the women who helped me does not work for them anymore and the installers she went through were not with Bobs!!! So she went behind mine and Bobs backs illegally and had an outside installer do my flooring. Since she did everything (but the flooring I purchased through Bobs) with her installers Bobs is refusing to fix the flooring!! We spent over $2,500 on this!!!!! I have never seen anything like this before in my life!!!! I am lawyering up! DO NOT GO TO BOBS CARPET LARGO MISSOURI AVE!!!!!!!!!!! I hired and ordered my carpet from Bob's Flooring. Exceptional sales lady who was able to measure and answer all my questions. Had to order the carpet but it was not really that long. Especially now with all the problems with getting supplies and all with the Covid outbreaks even wait in a couple of weeks really is not bad. The installer came out and I was blown away. Him and his helper just went to it less than 20 minutes I completely had the carpet padding and the floor swept. It was ready to put down the new carpet . It took a little more time to put the carpet down but from what I can see the exceptional work that those two did was just fantastic. Anything that you really want in life is worth waiting for. Thank you Bob's carpet and I will be contacting you shortly to do the other two rooms in my house. And I love the carpet it is so comfortable soft and the colors go beautifully in my living room and dining room. read more

Bobs Carpet Mart is much improved at the new location (just down the street from its old spot a couple blocks. They sent the salesman I worked with out to measure so no redundant explaining was necessary & the service was excellent. Can't say enough about the whole experience. Great installers who work only at Bobs Carpet (or one of the other 14 stores when available). Our new laminate exceeded our expectations. I recommend this excellent flooring company - not just for carpet either, though our upstairs was carpeted by Bobs last year and it was just as great an experience then too! read more

Lakeland, Florida store. Horrible experience, waste of time and money. Employees all seem like crooks. Tried to get us to do install off the books. Install was delayed for weeks then was sloppy, careless, and rushed w the cheapest supplies possible. Took 2 months to get them back to 'fix' it after finally reporting them to their corporate branch. Still looks awful and I want to rip it all out and start over w/o slimy salesmen who dont care about their company and are only out to get your money in THEIR pocket then run. For Sarasota store: Customer service is a word foreign to this company. They constantly no call no show. Which is causing the job to take so much longer then it should. They are totally unaware on how to apply the products they carry. Management needs to take a long look at the contractors they have hired. If the sub contractor says " he'll be at the job Monday at 8AM that really means Wednesday after 12PM. Horrible experience with this company, if this is a family company, do something about the plethora of deficiencies at your Sarasota store. I have never been so angry with a contractor, Bob's has screwed this job up and continues to do everything they can to respond as slowly as possible. They were also kind enough to leave a large pile of debris in the middle of the living room for over three days and had to be called (again no call no show no answer) a dozen times to finally pick up the mountain of garbage.
