What can I say? That I absolutely loved Jims Floor Depot and all the beautiful work they did for us? From the moment we walked into the door, we knew we came to the right place! Rocky took care of us, and made all the arrangements so that Jim would come to our house, and help us in any way he could. I recently contracted Jim's Flooring of Dundee to remove the carpet from my house (every room was carpeted except the kitchen). We selected a Luxury Vinyl Plank floor for the entire floor. The job was done in a week, and we are very satisfied with the installation of our new floor, and also the service that Jim provided after it was installed. We had a few minor issues that he corrected for us after the install. His staff and contractors were very accommodating , and worked around our schedule. We highly recommend this company. The vinyl flooring installed looked good but the detail work of trim work was not acceptable. Tried to point areas of concern and the owner refused to even look at it. That told me the 1 year warranty offered is useless. The business owner was very rude! At one point he insulted me that my house was a double wide! Did not clean up afterward and had to remind them the doors needed to be re-installed. I would not recommend this business! read more

If you are in the market to purchase a Luxury Vinyl planked floor and have it installed, choosing Jim's Floor Depot has been probably one of the biggest financial blunders of my entire 77 years on this planet. We had our entire house re floored. I made the mistake of going with one of the lowest bids, and not thoroughly researching this company. We chose the Pro Series Luxury Vinyl Planking. A product that over time (Installed April 26, 2021), has deteriorated rapidly. We are left with a floor that after spending over $8000, is coming up. Because the flooring is not tight on the floor (floating floor), the corner edges are catching and tearing off. Jim and his crews were out 3 times to repair or replace defective materials and workmanship. Determining that the the kitchen floor was not level, they replaced the entire floor. The floor looked excellant, unfortunately it started coming up 3 months later. We are throwing in the towel, giving up on dealing with this company (for over a year without any satisfaction). Presently we are covering the worst areas with throw rugs, and looking for another flooring contractor that can make recommendations as to our recourse, or to make legitimate repairs to our floor. In concluding this review I would like to echo some comments on Yelp, and elsewhere, and totally agree with some of his former customers, "Terrible customer service. The owner is rude, unprofessional and un-knowledgeable about products advertised on his website", "Mr. Jim Barnes is the most obnoxious and arrogant person I have ever dealt with. I would advise going somewhere else if I had flooring to be done". After hurricane Ian we needed to replace all the carpet in our home with tile. We went into Jim's flooring on Thursday afternoon half an hour later Jim was in our home with sample tiles and doing some measuring. Within a week our flooring was complete and it looks beautiful. Our home was in quite a bit of disarray but Jim's staff took great lengths to make sure everything got put back properly. I can't say enough about the service we recieved. read more

Today I received a visit from one of Jim's floor Depot workers for a free consultation. I had visited the Store days before and I found some carpet and, tile that I thought was nice it just happened to be on sale. Lucky me huh don't smile quite yet... The worker came out to do measurements and then we sat at the table to talk business. I'm referring to this gentleman as worker because he never actually introduced himself with his name. He did give us a card with the company's name on it. After sitting with this dude he wrote out the estimate. The estimated was for our living room and dining room. We have a huge master living room and, dining room is half the size of the living room but, still big. He estimated both of the rooms together for 4,800. So I said OK we're going to have to tackle it one room at a time. I then picked the dining area to tackle first. I asked him what was the price for that area. He did his calculation he came up with a estimate of 2,800 and some. I asked him why was it higher because with the other area being bigger in all I would think that my dining room should be less. He said that we was paying for Labor and shipping of the carpet and etc. I explain to him that labor is supposed to be included with the merchandise. I was told that when I visited the store days before. Anyways to make a long story short he tried to get over on me. I would've ended up paying a good 5,600 dollars which was more then his estimate he gave minutes before. I asked him was I being giving a discount minutes before for tackling them together. He said no your calculating it wrong!! How the freak is that possible. This was a waste of my time I will not be purchasing anything from the store ever. read more

The following review regards the Lakeland, FL store: NEVER, EVER, AGAIN. Workers were unprofessional and extremely slow, seeming to be more occupied with taking breaks than actually getting work done. It took three guys two days to do less than 1000 ft. They ran over time on the second day, causing them to rush through the master bedroom and do sub-par work. I have a coaxial cable that runs from bedroom to bedroom. Three times, I asked them to run the cable under the carpet close to the trim along the wall. They assured me it would be no problem. When I got home after they left, I found the cable running straight down the middle of the master bedroom hallway until it took a hard left into the dresser. When I called to ask the manager to fix the problem, he dragged on the subject until four days later when he told me they were merely doing me a courtesy and there was just too much furniture to move around; something he never mentioned to be a problem when he came out and measured the carpet. He refused to fix their mistake. To make matters worse, they left my 86-year-old mother with the task of putting the sectional back together and tried running out on her before they helped pull furniture out of the kitchen to put into the living room. She had to run outside and call them back just to help her. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

On June 15, 2018, the owner, Jim Barnes, came to our house and measured our floors for tile flooring. He told us we had 1450 square feet. Later I noticed on the invoice that he had put 1475 square feet. I also later found in his notes he had put1394 square feet. (I had previously measured 1389 square feet.) He claimed later that it was for overages. In a lump sum contract there shouldn't be any overages. Also, the differences never averaged 10% or 20%, as is customary for overages. He also did not leave the extra tile. When reviewing his estimate, I asked him about the sales tax he entered both on the labor and materials. This was a lump sum contract which is not supposed to be taxed at all. He, nevertheless, charged the tax anyway. I paid the tax, even thought Florida Dept. of Revenue told me that I wasn't required to pay it. He threatened to put a lien on my property if I didn't pay the tax. I did not want any more hassle with him. The work was acceptable but not great as advertised. Mr. Barnes was very difficult to deal with on every issue. He even came to my house two different times during the floor installations and treated me very disrespectfully. Mr. Barnes is the most obnoxious and arrogant person I have ever dealt with. I would advise going somewhere else if I had flooring to be done. read more
