That answer my friends is Sody's Barber Shop. I was in need for a new barber and also a haircut when I was back home. My former one passed away, RIP Barber Mark, and since I am a sucker for patronizing the local folks, I decided to give Sody a try. His shop is the typical downtown, tucked away in the corner shop. You can't miss the red, white, blue striped cylinder spinning outside though....can we say nostalgic American !!!!! You walk in and it's a set of 3-4 chairs, usually with a few of the local older gents chit chatting away about the typical topics: sports, local news, and politics. Up to the chair I hopped, Sody asking what he can do for me, puts on the paper collar and cape to collect the clippings. He cuts away and finishes off with a trim of the sideburns, splash of smell good, and vacuums and brushed the loose hair. During this time a few folks I know wander in asking me how life is going out of state, how the parents are, etc. I pay Sody, thank him for his time and make sure to tell him I will see him next time I am home. Uggh....now that I think of it, it is these small town things that really do sometimes make me wish I lived back here. I guess I am just a sucker for the small things that make America tick.

I was not only pleasantly surprised by the service I received, but also I came to find out that the barber I randomly chose, is related to someone I used to hang out with in my young years. The cut was great, Xavier the barber did a great job on my beard. I did the "full package" which also included a face mask, a hot towel and shave as well as a black charcoal mask at the end... Xavier, thank you for the great service and great stories. I am super picky and usually I don't even think a cut and beard trim are "ok" by most barbers other than my own, but you did a great job! Last note, the other customers in the other chairs also seemed pleased with their cuts... gotta be a lil cheeky and add that it was a bunch of white boys, smitten with the two talented, beautiful Latina barbers in this shop.
