I'm in Peoria for a day and I need to make myself presentable and have never let anyone touch my beard in the 4 years I've been growing it. Well that's not true one time I let someone touch it and that is why nobody ever touched it since then. But Mr Ray met me in the Hall yesterday as I was coming by to check out the place, for those of you like me you know the feel of the place is as important as just about anything else. Phenomenal experience, I was treated like a gentleman by gentlemen, walked around and introduced by name. Glass and Demetrius were very respectful and honorable. This is such a contrast to today's culture. I feel like this was an excellent tone and energy, great establishment. Haircut was decent, but took a little over 1.5 hours for a fairly uneventful haircut. In that regard, room for improvement in speed/skill, but D was very nice throughout. Loved the jazz. read more

Soooo where do I start. I was in Peoria for a softball tournament and had some down time. Got on Yelp my choices were Prestige or Bobs. Prestige had four solid reviews and was closest. Excellent choice waited 15 for the chair not bad on a Friday evening. Tom first available and got the proprietor himself Mr. Glass. If you ever get the chance to sit in this mans chair do yours of a favor and listen to what drives him and what got him here. As for the cut and the experience I give it a ten best cut and beard trim I have had. It was like a spa treatment. My only regret is it is 2.5 hours from my house. read more

Took my 19 mo. old son in to get a haircut with Mr. Glass at his new location in the Twin Towers Plaza. I told Mr. Glass ahead of time that if he had Netflix on the TV (which he does) I think we could keep him calm enough in the chair. It wasn't so much the TV show as it was Mr. Glass' personality that kept my boy calm after a rough start to the haircut. His patient approach, coupled with his--I'll say it--tenderness helped my son grow more comfortable with the trimmers and the overall haircut experience. Of courses, the haircut was fantastic, too. Mr. Glass exceeded my expectations. I really felt like he cared about the customers experience by the way he dressed, talked, and cut. He was very detailed and thorough and made a point to ask what time my rehearsal dinner started because he overheard me on the phone talking about how I was running late while I was waiting in line for my haircut. Once it was my turn he made a point to cut quickly without sacrificing quality or brief checkins regarding my haircut preferences. I also really appreciated how he did all the little extra things that a lot of barbers are too lazy to do such as shampoo my hair and use a hot towel 2-3 times during my visit, he also offered to gel or paste my hair after the cut. Lastly he had great social skills; he made me feel welcomed and taken care of from the time I walked in. The cut was $45 so definitely on the more premium end but it was worth it for me especially considering I wanted a high quality haircut in a short amount of time I also tipped $15. Mr. Glass does an extraordinary job with haircuts. His haircuts showcase his talent and his attention to detail. This sophisticated barbershop is located within downtown Peoria's Twin Towers. The inside is very modern and comfortable. I thought that being away from his main location it would be less busy. His fans and loyal customers have followed him to this location as well and it stays busy. They have free WiFi and comfortable, limited seating while you wait. It is smaller compared to his Northwoods Mall location so less barbers are available. Still, if you are in the area and have some time to spare, stop by for a superb haircut done with style and care. Mr. Glass is very friendly and likes to talk and doesn't leave you sitting there in silence (which I dislike). I stopped in at the new location in the basement of the Becker building in downtown Peoria. It was neat, clean and professional as was Mr. Glass. He is a gentlemen and made me feel welcome right away. I noted Mr. Glass's appearance was as his business and if he cared that much about his own appearance, I felt assured he would care about my business. Mr. Glass did not disappoint. I have a rule on Yelp for restaurants if it has four or more stars it won't let me down and if it has 5 i have to try it. When i recently messed up my at home haircut i applied the same rule to barber shops and went with Prestige. Me.
