The shop…read moreappears to be a hair salon, but they have as many men customers as women, and its not hard to understand why. My hair grows in a certain way that makes it hard for most barbers to cut my hair in the way that I like. Metropole does not have that problem, (especially Kelly.) Because they do both hair styling as well as hair cuts, they understand the different ways hair can be cut. I get *exactly* the kind of crisp look I like, with the hair styled that accomodates the way my hair grows. I live in North Carolina, but always schedule an appointment when I come back for a visit!

They do men and women so don't be frightened away by the line that it's an all woman barbershop. Their prices also seem to be in line with what I hear you get for haircuts in Peoria but to be honest I haven't been to any other barbershop in over 20 years! As for the person mentioning Jo Marie no longer being there... sadly she passed away and that's the reason she's not there.

Faby pays incredible attention to detail and truly takes pride in his craft. The haircut was sharp, clean, and exactly what I asked for--honestly one of the best cuts I've had. If you're looking for a barber who is consistent, skilled, and easy to talk to, Faby is the one to book with. Highly recommend Barber Season! Terrible communication when you build clientele up by booking appointments based on your barber personal availability. When communication is not transparent it leaves a bad impression and for future clients. When I first received a hair cut from Faby it took me 3 more weeks to finally get a day and time Faby agreed too and even when I sat in his chair late one night after work he said moving forward communication would be better. As my impression stands Faby is not transparent and availability ltime needs to updated in order for clients to be able to book properly based on Faby schedule.

Kept making weird faces at me and acting like I was stupid because I was asking how much is a haircut? When it was time for me to get in his barber chair he made a frustrated look and shrugged his shoulders and wiggled his head at me instead of saying you're up. This is clearly a black barbershop that doesn't appreciate what customers. Avoid this place like a freaking plague.

The place is always very clean and well maintained. I have always been greeted by cordial salon experts. They have done everything to keep me happy or to get me scheduled when I call from home. I have a walking disability and have found it is very easy to get in to the salon and in to a chair for service. Usually, I get Bonnie and she has been doing hair forever. She is never in a hurry and always does a great job. She is easy to talk to and makes me comfortable when I'm there. There is nothing negative I can say about anything connected to this salon. I have been going to Vickie Montgomery for decades and even though I moved away I still go to see her whenever I visit! She really listens to what I ask for and takes her time with me. I am very picky so I'm always asking her to tweak my hair as she works and she happily does what I ask. I feel comfortable with her and never feel like I'm putting her out. She always wants to please the customer and she always does with me! I also LOVE the way she colors my hair. I have a lot of gray and I like to have highlights. She always knows the correct color that looks good with my skin and I am never disappointed. And the prices are ridiculously affordable. I almost feel guilty paying as little as I do but I try to make up for it with my tips! This salon mostly services an older clientele but I'm in my 30's and love my hair every time I come! I highly recommend this salon and Vickie is a gem of a hairstylist!
