You have to tip your hat to this modern-day barbershop in Prescott Valley, AZ (PV). We extended…read moreour stay here, eldercare issues needed resolution, so the "coif" was getting shaggy real quick. Walked in close-to opening hour on a Tuesday, one barber with one customer. He checked arrivals for other barbers, "I've got you next" ... I was out within 40 minutes, that time included the first customers time and cleanup before my cut! The place is contemporary, clean, young and friendly. They accept only cash and Zelle, however. Although I had walked-in, I went into the website via Yelp, the appointment was made and confirmed without a glitch. Super happy with my cut! Saucy Cuts is now my go-to shop in PV when I'm looking shaggy!

And no, I haven't turned in my "Man Card" so it really is safe of read on... What happened is that my favorite, of all time, barber moved on. I am told this happens, partnerships change, better offers arise, whatever. My long-time barber, Lisa Dale at CJ's has relocated. Really, I have to report that they still cut great hair and I still recommend them, but for a truly fine haircut you gotta go see Lisa at Silver Scissors of Prescott. Yep, this is a hairdresser. They don't have Elvis on the walls and the selection of male-orientated magazines is on the thin side. It smells kinda like my Mom's perms, and they even have those old-time hairdryers that look somewhat like a mad scientists' brain-sucking device. What they do have is a real Barber. Lisa is still cutting guys' hair (and I mean real manly guys like cops and firefighters) and I have found no better in Prescott. So, for those of you secure in your manliness and desiring a really perfect haircut, flip your collar up, your hat down low and get yourself over there. You will not regret it!

I love layers but every cut gives me the dreaded "dog-ears" so I was ready to give up my layers and go for a single length, even though I know it won't bring out the best in my curls. I told Pam what I was looking for and she asked me if I was willing to be daring and go out of my comfort zone. Well, sure! Why not? I guess I've got to take some chances if I'm ever going to find that perfect cut, right? I have to admit, I was a little nervous and wondering if I was going to regret my daring streak after seeing how much hair came off and how short the layers were. But, you know you can't determine if you'll really like it until you've gone through your normal regimine. Lo and behold, the next morning, after showering and letting my hair air-dry, every ounce of hesitation I had was gone. My curls have never been curlier and full of volume! I love everything about the cut and am so pleased to find someone who knows what curly hair needs and how to make it bounce! I cannot recommend Pam enough for curly hair. She really knows how to bring out its best and I will definitely be going back!
