Dr. Chauvin practically visited at least once a day for the first 72 days. I was consumed with different infections from an abscess in my hip/buttock/thigh due to very heavy radiation 33 years beforehand. He was my cheerleader, internal medicine doc and liason between all of the hospital specialist that dealt with me. Now, after 24 surgeries performed by wound docs, vascular and urologist, he played a very significant role in saving my life. I still have to visit him often and he continues to impress. Throughout my ordeal, during my regular care visits, Dr. Chauvin closely monitored my treatment and tests. He made sure I understood important medical terminology and concepts so I could have meaningful discussions with my oncologists. He even drew graphics to help me understand. During our regular office visits, he also takes the time to discuss my general health, blood work and allows me to ask as many questions as I need to for understanding. I never feel rushed with him. He is a wonderful physician, that demonstrates great caring and concern for his patients. He also makes me laugh as he shares quips about himself personally in a very relatable way. They said he does not sign PA's for this particular type of medication. Does he not feel comfortable enough to sign a PA? If so, why does he feel comfortable enough to prescribe it? If this is not his specialty, why was my husband not referred to a doctor who could better help with his treatment? I am confused about this. I am concerned about this. And I still cannot get a straight answer. That is not a trusting relationship between Dr and patient, so we will not be returning to Dr. Jacob Webster.
