Southern Eye Care - The Bifocal Line is in the Center of my Vision, and there's an air gap between the frame and lenses but luckily these didn't fall out.

The Absolute Worst…read more Steer Clear! When I called recently, assuming my expensive lenses were covered, they told me there's only a 90 day warranty on Essilor transitions that delaminated and I had waited too long. IMPORTANT Buy "Transition" Brand, don't be duped. In January I had contacted VSP because the lenses in three pairs of glasses I'd had made at this provider, including an expensive pair with a delamination issue, were ground too small for the frames so they just fell out. I was going to cancel their vision insurance policy because I couldn't have been more disappointed. The VSP representative promised to help resolve any issues but asked that I contact Southern Eye and give them a chance to address my issues so I would be a satisfied customer, and I agreed to give it a shot, but then I was hospitalized and everything moved to the back burner. After a long illness last year and delays due to covid, I did have heart surgery and I'm on the mend. Once I could handle stress better I contacted the office manager as instructed, but she only offered to glue the lenses back in my Italian Frames!! Glue? 3 defective pairs of glasses out of 4 that I shelled out hundreds for, even though I used 2 sets of my own frames and the VSP discounts, and glue is her resolution to my problem? Why not make lenses that fit, like every pair of glasses I've had made in the past 44 years? Their horrid workmanship was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Another VSP network provider I visited yesterday couldn't believe what she was looking at and she has returned their work to VSP for examination since Southern Eye just argued with me after I called. As I stated before, VSP had recommended that I call Southern Eye back in January when I contacted them about those issues, but then I had to have heart surgery on the 21st. The office manager gave me grief about waiting for just over a year to call, ignoring the fact that I was gravely ill in 2020, still 1600 miles away, and I'd been hospitalized for heart surgery. Two pairs of glasses were mailed to me but not via Priority mail that I paid extra for, because they weren't ready when I left town, so they didn't arrive until late February. VSP does have a record of my calls and complaints and they're taking action on my behalf because I did call back yesterday after I saw the local VSP provider. My eyes were opened a lot yesterday because I also discovered Essilor lenses have a 1 year warranty if sent to the VSP lab, but Southern Eye ground them in house. Either they don't have good equipment or people doing the work don't know how to properly use the equipment. They don't just pop out, some lenses have a jagged edge on the bottom too! Ridiculous! Also, they ignore requests to place the height of the lined bifocals where the customer wants it, so the one pair that isn't a total disaster hurts my neck because I have to look over the bifocals by tipping my head down so far my chin nearly touches my chest, unless I wear them on the tip of my nose. I finally just hung up on the office manager because VSP told me to contact them again if their provider didn't take care of me to my satisfaction, but to try to work it out with Southern Eye of Clinton first. I was told that they hold their providers to a very high standard and this will be addressed. We'll see! I'm 1600 miles away and I had planned to return sooner and walk in their location and show them what I was dealing with, so they could also see three pairs had literally been unused and they were in the same condition that they were in when they arrived. Two pairs were worn 5 times each, if that many. I'll attach photos! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy because I have glasses that I wasn't able to wear due to the frequency of the lenses hitting the floor, and the left prescription was off because the so called eye doctor second guessed herself and changed my prescription after the examination was over! There was only a slight adjustment needed to the left eye that was off in all 4 pairs for the past year, so had they been made right I wouldn't have needed to spend money to make changes since it's not significant, but I had to replace the lenses that were separating and falling out in the pair that was supposed to be my primary and favorite pair. Yesterday I spent more money having the lenses replaced in the pair that had the expensive lenses that separated, because they looked like a 56 ford windshield in an Arizona junkyard. I want to be reimbursed for the pair that I have just sent to VSP to be redone at the very least, because that's what I feel would be fair. If VSP and Southern Eye fail to help then I will continue to seek out ways to force provider accountability with all means at my disposal including the chamber of commerce, the better business bureau, healthgrades and any review forum or applicable blog, because I do have the power of the pen! Consumers Have Rights!

Walked in (masked up & onion glasses on). Saw a pair I liked and asked did they come in any other color. The young lady who worked there, first asked did I have a script. I said, "Yes, on my phone." She says, "Well, we kinda need you to print it out, first." In my mind "Before what? Looking at frames?" I said, "When I am ready to finalize my frame purchase, I'm more than happy to print it out then." I asked, again, about alternate colors. She said, "Well, when you bring back your printed script, I can look for alternate colors." Wait, what? Let me get this straight, instead of OFFERING to email/air print it, you want me to go somewhere to print this out, THEN you'll look up whether alternate colors are offered on some frames? I get it. I didn't have a PRINTED script, but that does not stop a person from looking for alternate frame colors. I will be taking my effort, $$ and business, elsewhere. I need businesses to do better. This was a customer service FAIL and lost business because I am READY and NEED to purchase new frames (like two months ago.. I keep gorilla glue on me with my current frames.. don't ask). I need businesses to train their people better.

Hello All, I am writing this review to forewarn you about…read morethe scam (ageism) that is being ran at LensCrafters at 1000 Highland Colony Pkwy #9007 Ridgeland, MS 39157. My mother purchased two pair of glasses for $455.83 from LensCrafters on 10/03/23. She decided not to pick up the glasses and requested a refund, shortly after purchasing said glasses. She told me that some paperwork was supposedly emailed to me regarding her refund on 10/19/23. Of course, after checking my email for two weeks straight, there was no email or info regarding her refund sent to me. Now, the plot thickens yesterday 11/07/23, when she was trying to call LensCrafters online services to seek info about her refund. Finally, I asked her to let me see what was going on with this refund that she had been trying to obtain for over a month. I was able to reach a LensCrafters online representative who told me that they do not handle any in-store purchases, only online purchases. I decided than that someone had been giving her the run-a-round. So, I immediately drove to the store and was greed by Cameron F. Partee, Urgent Care Team Lead. I presented Cameron with the problem and told him that my mother has been trying to get a refund on some glasses that she purchased but never picked up. I gave him the receipt and his reply was that she was never charged for the glasses. I told him that there's the authorization # and that by Charge the balance due is $0.00, all of which lets me know that she was charged. Then this so- called Team Lead told me that she had already been issued a refund. So, I asked him to please provide me with a copy of the refund receipt. He printed out the original purchase receipt. I informed him that this was not a refund receipt. A refund receipt always has a minus sign in front of the amount to indicate that the charge is being refunded. I took time to call my mother's bank to verify that she was indeed charged, and no refund had been applied to her account. He then decided to call another LensCrafters representative in Accountant to assist him. She told him that a check had be mailed out to my mother in the amount of $455.83 on 10/09/23. She advised him to call someone else to obtain the tracking number and delivery date. So, my sister asked him to tell her since the check has not been delivered yet, to simply cancel the check and apply the refund back to her debit card, the original form of payment. According to them, they could not do that. This is when it became clear that they were not planning to refund her money, and I grew very upset that they had been giving her the run-a-round and causing her undo stress. An elderly woman on a fixed income being taken advantage of by a group of money hungry people. How many elderly people have they done this too? A company prolonging people refunds; hoping that they will forget; and keeping their money. The so-called Team Lead, Cameron finally called to ascertain the tracking info for the check. To no surprise the check had not even been mailed yet. Here it is a month later and this Team Lead refused to simply refund her money back to her debit card. Furthermore, when I asked him to speak to his manager and provide me with the phone number to LensCrafters' Corporate office, he nonchalantly said my manager is on leave of absence, and I do not know the corporate office number. I left knowing that this will have to be handled through legal means. I immediately contacted my attorney and will meet with him on Friday. But what I would like to know is how many people out there have they done this too? We must fight for our elderly people. If you have experienced anything like this, please call me @ 601-212-2194. I think it will take a clash action lawsuit to truly rectify this situation. Thank You! Kimberly Ferdinand
