Pros: Decor is awesome, wide range of menu options, great location, good burger (definitely not American but close enough for a german place) Cons: Slow service, cash only

    Craft beer & cola

This restaurant is lucky to be located in such a nice area, otherwise I don't think it would be as popular as it is. When we first arrived, one of the servers was immediately annoyed at our mere existence and told us it would be 45 minutes until we got served, even though there were several tables free. Since we didn't have a back up plan and really wanted to eat there, we sat down and waited. Then another server took our order and we got our food in a reasonable 15 minutes. I had a feeling the first server was lying since burgers do not take that long to make and he seemed mad at the world in general, but still, not a good first impression. Anyway, to the food. To be honest, it was Bob & Meh-ry. I tried the bbq burger and avocado burger, and both were just average, maybe even a bit below. Don't even bother with the avocado burger because it's just a regular burger with a thin layer of mashed avocado without flavor (and I say this as an avocado lover). The bbq bacon burger was better, since bacon is tasty in general, but it could have been so much more. The bun quickly became soggy and the meat didn't have much flavor, though it did taste homemade. The onion rings were 90% fried batter and 10% actual onion, and the potato chips were just OK. Also fyi, the "spicy chutney" is really liquidy, not the chunky texture I expected. I do give them props for offering craft beer because this is not common in Dusseldorf yet. Wasn't a fan of the rhubarb beer (weird aftertaste) but the Onkel Albert beer was good. The atmosphere was nice too, with music inside and lots of outdoor seating. All in all, definitely not the best place to eat a burger in Dusseldorf, but an OK choice if you want to stay near the Media Harbor.

You order upon walking in on the bar and I ordered one of the pre-made bagel sandwiches with lox and avocado. It was really good but the downside was that my friend ordered the pancakes and those took a while to be ready, so by the time her food was ready mine was already gone. The pancakes come on a really neat presentation and surrounded by fresh berries and syrup. The coffee options are on point with all the expected espresso drinks (latte, cappuccino, etc) with the option to choose any plant based milk substitute. I had the coconut milk cappuccino and it was excellent. After ordering we were given the options to pay at that time or later. We chose to pay later, which was a bad decision because it meant we had to stand in line again when leaving, so if given the option, make sure to pay up front.

We added takeout vegan veggie sandwich made with amazing bread and added a vegan chocolate dessert, rich and delicious for lunch later. Staff is super friendly and helped by describing all vegan options, politely and with a genuine smile. Felt the prices were a good value for exceptional quality food and calm, clean dining area. Hope you enjoy as much ad we did.
