We waited a solid 45 minutes for our food--long enough to question every life decision that led us there. When it finally arrived, it was... microwaved chicken noodle soup. Comfort food? More like dorm-room nostalgia. Our server was sweet but clearly new to the game. We had to remind them multiple times about the rolls that were supposed to come with our meals--maybe the rolls were playing hide-and-seek? We dropped $60 on what felt like a lukewarm memory. Honestly, if we were aiming for "meh," Wendy's was right down the street. At least there, the disappointment is fast and expected. My "fried" chicken? Cold but passable. My brother's grilled chicken? Practically inedible--chewy and dry questionably prehistoric. The salad came nicely portioned, but they hardly tossed on half a chicken tender, like they were rationing protein during the apocalypse. That said, my BLT sandwich? Surprisingly good! Crunchy bacon, fresh lettuce, and toasted bread that actually hit the spot. It was the one bright spot in a sea of mediocrity. Overall, not the worst dining experience of our lives--but not the first spot we are racing to.

They were short stuffed when we were there. Only 4 people working the whole restaurant including the kitchen. Our lunch was totally almost 2 hours. It's longer than what we were expected but the service was good. The employees worked very hard. When we checked out, one of their computers was down, so all dine-in, carry out and pick up had to use the only computer so everyone was pretty stressful. Other than that, food was good, and restroom was clean.

Super slow here. Need more cooks, faster waitressing, and the portions seem smaller here.

Walked in expecting a meat cathedral or a place where steaks whisper "buy me." What I found: cozy wood-fire vibes, a very friendly (non-biting) bear, and enough bourbon options to make an old man consider rewriting his will. The fireplace smelled like nostalgic childhood and good decisions--10/10 for ambiance and for making my sweatshirt and joggers feel almost fancy. #KindaUnderDressed #WelcomedAnyway Service Taylor is the reason civilization endures. Smiling, attentive, and kept my drink full even when I'm notoriously bad at hydration. If you know this bald guy, you understand how important my hydration is. #RefillPlease Food I ordered the French Dip: shaved prime rib, caramelized onion, provolone on a rustic roll that should have its own fan club, plus a cup of au jus that practically deserves a hug. Fries instead of the famous house BBQ chips because I'm a rebel who pays extra for potatoes. Fries were excellent., but who charges extra for fries? The audacity. Sweet tea was dangerously on point. Menu Notes From steakhouse splurges ($25-$45) to bar sandwiches and a 30-tap beer situation that reads like a sommelier's fever dream, there's something to fit every budget and ego. Apps include deviled eggs with ambition and pork belly that knows what it's doing. Desserts are fancy enough to make you consider wearing socks with sandals. Vibe and Price Felt classier than my usual sweatshirt-and-wind-joggers combo, though several patrons were clearly auditioning for "dinner with a trust fund." It's a little pricey, which is trending everywhere these days -- so I blame inflation and the 1845 potato famine. Also -- again -- fries cost extra. Someone explain this economy to me. Who should go Date night, impress-your-in-laws, or take your friend who brags about beer knowledge. Say "ask for Taylor" and thank me later. Final Score 3 out of 5 Bald Head Emojis: ‍‍‍ Minus one for price. Minus one for charging extra for fries. #CheapOldMan Would I go back? Yep. Had a great time catching up on the Madison County Gossip, excellent sandwich, great server, and atmosphere that makes even a bald guy feel a little fancier. #followforsnark Recommend to anyone who wants good food and a cozy, slightly upscale small-town vibe. #ShopLocal Walked in expecting a meat cathedral or a place where steaks whisper "Buy me."

Farm-Fresh Flavor with a Side of Small-Town Charm - Breakfast at The Farmer's Daughter in Urbana,…read moreOhio If you ever find yourself cruising through Urbana, Ohio with a hunger that only a hearty, home-cooked breakfast can satisfy, do yourself a favor and stop at The Farmer's Daughter. It's the kind of place where the biscuits are fluffy, the coffee's always hot, and the welcome is as warm as the griddle. This morning, we popped in for breakfast, and from the moment we stepped through the door, we knew we were in good hands. That feeling was confirmed when Holly, our waitress, greeted us with a smile and the kind of friendly service that makes you feel like a regular--even if it's your first visit. I went all-in with The Hog Log, and let me tell you, this is not your average breakfast burrito. It's a hearty wrap filled with sausage, bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, and cheese, all rolled in a soft flour tortilla and smothered in rich, homemade sausage gravy. Every bite had that perfect balance of smoky, creamy, and savory flavors--and the gravy? Next-level delicious. My wife ordered Uncle Dave's Favorite Breakfast, which comes with your choice of pancakes or French toast, eggs done your way, a breakfast meat, and toast. She chose pancakes, bacon (crispy but not burnt), whole wheat toast, and eggs over medium. The pancakes were fluffy and golden, the bacon had that perfect crisp, and the eggs were cooked just right--firm whites with warm, runny yolks. It was classic comfort on a plate. The décor is classic country diner meets local charm--think rustic wood accents, sweet signs on the wall, and the kind of vibe that makes you want to slow down and savor the morning. Whether you're a local or just passing through Champaign County, The Farmer's Daughter is worth the stop. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and the service--especially from folks like Holly--makes the experience even better. So go ahead, order the Hog Log. Or Uncle Dave's. Or both. You'll thank me later. Sorry my camera wasn't working so no pictures Take the Trip, your Next Adventure is waiting. #TakeTheTripByBrian

A favorite for brunch, we booked dinner for a Friday night. Phenomenal experience celebrating the holidays with a small group of family and friends. We already loved Table 33 for lunch or brunch, but had never experienced their dinner menu.... Now, it's our favorite Dayton-area restaurant for any meal, snack, or cocktail. (Do not sleep on their wine list though, fabulous assortment and available for retail purchase) Friday night dinner reservations and we were floored with the recent dining room updates - including new dining venues off a hallway, each with its own unique decor (including a unique chandelier in each) and a truly decadent and unexpectedly private environment. Seating for 4 and above in the varying spaces. After dinner, we booked the guaranteed add-on table reservation at the adjacent venue, 'The Dessert Room'. A well-appointed room with a European decor and upbeat music settles you in for a delightful list of desserts, from gelato and macarons to pies and cakes, and a nice coffee, port, wine, or cocktail menu. The service is amazing. The food and cocktails, phenomenally good. The venue? Truly gorgeous. The owner is reinventing another adjacent property next to 'The Dessert Room', currently a mix of a Mexican fare (bowls, burritos) and tequila. Previously a coffee shop, interested to see what it ends up being to tie these venues together.

I also, enjoy the Salmon with Horseradish sauce over a bed of risotto, and spinach. My wife had the grilled Romain salad which was very unique and tasty.
