After serious negotiations, on January 19, 2022, my husband shook hands with and handed a deposit check for $1,000 to a salesman at Bob Allen, Frankfort, for a 2022 Pacifica. He was told the vehicle would probably arrive in April but they had no firm date. Before that day, my husband owned a Town and Country that was serviced exclusively at Bob Allen, Frankfort. In 2017 he purchased from this dealership a 2018 Pacifica. Great Service department. Because of delays on the part of Chrysler, he did not receive a call to pick up the new vehicle until June 4, 2022. He had kept in touch periodically with the salesman. When he arrived to exchange vehicles, the remaining balance due was suddenly raised a whopping 50%.The finance officer explained that in the almost six months we patiently waited, more cars were available and although the van had VERY low mileage, they were unilaterally reducing the trade in value. My husband reminded him that a deal was made in good faith, a check was accepted and cashed in April and there was NO mention of a price change. He was told effectively, "Take it or Leave it." He left it. He is a senior citizen and has believed that a mans word is his bond. He no longer trusts or respects the sales or finance department. In the least, the increase of 50% owed seems like a bait and switch and certainly was very un-Kentuckian. We will return to the service department but will purchase future vehicles elsewhere. Okay, so I never do this but I feel the need to do so. I personally have ran into a few credit Hiccups. so my credit is not so "perfect" and already had a car loan active (being listed as a co-signer) well hardly no banks will accept a 2nd car loan without a Co-Signer and having a credit hiccup or two. Well that's what I thought till inquired about a 2015 dodge journey they had on their lot, and with in a few minutes I had someone from they BDC department email me telling me it was still Available (after they was already closed). The next day I got a call from Colton (from Bob Allen) who which was amazing. but needless to say after a few days of working on it, aslo speaking with Jim. I was able to get a car without a co-signer and didn't have a bad down payment and I can't thank them enough for being able to work up such an amazing deal for me considering having a car loan open and active. Me personally i would give them more then 5 stars but yelp wont let me. If you need a New or Used CAR, SUV, TRUCK or MINIVAN, I encourage you to stop by this dealership and give them a chance because they was able to work with me and put me in a car when no other dealership was able to. read more
