Annapolis has got a ton of little clothing shops and odds and ends but THE COTTAGE's selection was top notch. They had bracelets, bags, decor, clothes...you name it. I'm from the south and live in Ohio now, but this shop was reminiscent of the shops in the south. Classy and prices reasonable for the quality they carry, plus the staff were so hospitable. Hopefully I'll be stopping in on a regular basis if I get a Mid class 2031.

To differentiate between the two locations they are calling the downtown Annapolis store The Cottage on Main and the Severna Park store The Cottage in The Park. The inventory between the two stores seems very similar. I can almost always find something to buy at this great local, small business. Here are some of my most recent finds: - Avanti greeting cards often featuring funny animals. They are the best! - Keva leather jewelry. It's light and so comfortable to wear. - Farmhouse Fresh lotions and soaps. Great quality and not overbearing scents. - Hobo purses and wallets. Awesome colors, practical designs and yummy leather. - A variety of thoughtful and sweet baby gifts. Lots of pretty prints. - Boho bandeaus. I really like these for working out in the yard. - Rifle Paper Co. stemless drinking glasses. Seems great for anything. - Although not personally a favorite of mine, popular brands like Vera Bradley, Kendra Scott and Swig. Since this location is in downtown Annapolis parking is a consideratoin. On an early weekday morning you might be able to grab a metered spot our front. The Noah Hillman Parking Garage is nearby too. Or you can always drive 15 minutes to the Severna Park location where parking is plentiful. Overall, The Cottage on Main is a great addition to downtown Annapolis.

The store is small but has a bounty of clothing given varying taste. I stumbled upon a lovely pair of printed flowy black & white pants which were a must have. Also, grabbed a pair of sweaters and tops to add to my wardrobe. Many of the items are trendy but you can find a few staple items. This is a boutique so the prices tend to be a bit pricey. Somethings are worth the added value yet some of the designer items don't seem to be the best quality. I suggest this place for those who like trendy pieces and if you like pieces you can mix and match.

Main Street in downtown Annapolis is undeniably quaint as a whole but the striking storefront of Lilac Bijoux always catches my eye. I love the unpredictably light purple store front with the cream color, hefty and significant dentil molding. The classy and stunning facade is the perfect foreshadowing of the lovely styles inside. Lilac Bijoux is a boutique for women offering flowy, pretty clothes and accessories. What I appreciate about this store and that they sell jewelry from local designers. The store is small but packed full of good stuff.

I love the focus on Made in America clothing, jewelry, and accessories. They have recently added shoes. As they get to know your style, they will pull items they think you might like and give honest, thoughtful opinions on how the pieces work with your size and shape. They offer alterations at very affordable prices and will also ship items to you on request. They also have frequent events (trunk shows, visits by designers). They frequently post on social media (Instagram, Facebook) so that you can see all of their new arrivals. Definitely one of the best women's boutiques in the DMV.

BLUF: Preppy, higher-end nautical inspired clothing for women…read more The Lucky Knot is a local retailer with a handful of stores in Annapolis, Alexandria and perhaps a few other locations. They have two stores in downtown Annapolis and this review is for the business at 176 Main Street that sells preppy clothing with a touch of nautical. Brands like Gretchen Scott, Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines are sold here and I appreciate having a local option for nicer clothes, especially after Nordstrom went out of business in 2020. The store is always well organized and I do find the pretty displays beckoning me to come in and have a look. In addition to clothing they have accessories - scarves, purses, fashion jewelry, etc. My style isn't generally as preppy as The Lucky Knot but I have gotten a few fun plaid pieces here for the holidays. They key is to take the time to try it on and make sure you love it because the return policy is exchanges only.
