Morningstar completely lost my trust when they charged us for "cosmetic damage" to the boat. We didn't run into other boats. We didn't have trouble docking. We had a sober captain the whole time.. They charged us for pulling the boat up onto a sandy beach. No damage to the boat or motor, just some sand on the toons. Total fiasco trying to get our deposit back. Horrible communication. Will never go back.

However, it ended up a disaster due to credit card holds and fines.... When we arrived back to the Marina, we were told that a GPS had sensed we were too close to the beach and they would need to do a full inspection of the boat. A $2000 hold was put on our credit card, for what seemed like forever!! The problem? The boats already had heavy wear and tear prior to our using them (they looked pretty old). There were no pictures or pre-inspection done with the party, so I question how they know what party caused the damage. When I asked the manager for any proof the damage was caused by our party, he said something along the lines of "We just know, we looked before". The boat is taken it multiple times a week and we were very cautious about keeping the boat damage-free (raising the trim, using buoys etc.,). My question for Morning "one"star... Did going too close to the beach cause the radio to break as well? (it was never working from the start) based on their logic we should replace that too. In the end we were charged a hefty fine with no real way to do anything about it. Part of me wonders if it was because we were all in our mid-20s and easy targets, hmmmm. Skip Morning-one-star marina and rent somewhere else

We recently purchased a boat from Talley's Pier 77 Marine, and I cannot recommend them highly…read moreenough. Honestly, when we walked in, we had zero expectations of buying from them. We were already set on a different boat at a different place, but so many people kept telling us to check out Talley's that we finally decided to go--more out of due diligence than anything else. That decision changed everything. The first person who greeted us was Billy, the owner himself. He spent a long time with us, not trying to "sell," but genuinely educating us about boats in a way that was actually enjoyable and easy to understand. Shortly after, we met Taylor, our salesman, who was equally patient, friendly, and never pushy. He walked us through the two boats we were considering, answered every question we had (and we had a lot!), and took us outside to see them in person. When we mentioned wanting to grab lunch to think it over, Billy insisted that anytime you buy a boat, you should be able to test drive it. That was something no one else had ever told us. True to his word, Taylor met us later that afternoon at Ramsey Park and gave us a full test drive. That was the moment we knew--we had found our boat. The customer service didn't stop there. When the boat was delivered, Tommy spent the entire afternoon with us--from 1:00 until after 5:00--going over every detail. He walked us through how to use the boat, anchor, navigate safely, and even took us out on the water to practice. As first-time boat owners, that level of hands-on training was invaluable. Within one afternoon, I felt more confident about our boat than I do about my own car. Our boat is mechanically sound, looks brand new, and came with the peace of mind of a warranty--something that mattered a lot to us. And on top of all that, it checked every box: comfortable for my 85-year-old mother-in-law, beautiful on the water, and easy to handle. We asked a thousand questions along the way, and every single one was answered with patience and care. What really stood out, though, is how much they made us feel like family. They reassured us that if we ever needed help--whether it was a question, a breakdown, or just getting comfortable with the boat--they were only a phone call away, even giving us personal cell numbers. Who does that anymore? If I had to come up with a one recommendation, it would be this: they need a merch store. They did send us home with a Regal hat (which we love), but a Talley's T-shirt or sweatshirt would be amazing--because after this experience, we'd wear it proudly everywhere. We never planned to buy from Talley's, but after this experience, we'll never buy from anywhere else and if you needed a sign you need a boat, this is it. Thank you, Billy, Taylor, and Tommy, and all of the staff, for going above and beyond!

Purchasing a Boat can be a very stressful experience, especially for a first time boat buyer. When…read moremy wife and I first started doing research on brands through watching countless videos and reading different websites, it's clear that there are many great boat manufacturers that are out there in the market to suite the different buyer needs. However, the one thing that is certain is that not all all dealers who carry those boat are the same when it comes to professionalism and service. We had 3 brands that we narrowed our search down to and began reaching out to those dealers asking high level questions about the inventory, their thoughts on the models we were interested in, and various other questions from storage to maintenance that extend far beyond the initial purchase. There was really only one salesperson who went above and beyond to make sure I felt good about investing my time in stopping by their dealership to take a look at the boat of interest. Ed Florentino Jr. sent me about a dozen videos and sound clips explaining the differences between options I've had questions about, engines, and even a clip about how to winterize the boat before I even confirmed a demo with him. I immediately confirmed my appointment with Ed and drove out to Charlotte with my wife for a test drive. The experience could not have continued to be better but it did. Ed spent a good 30 minutes understanding what we were looking to get out of boat ownership and what was important to us. He then invested another hour showing us the boat and letting us get a feel for the Regal LS2. At no point did he try to sell us the boat we were on but just continued to ask questions and listen to our answer - if you're in the profession of selling you can appreciate this very much. Sara and Sharma were wonderful to work with providing insight and flexibility into the financing and answering additional questions for us as well. We were in and out of financing/paper work in no time. On our delivery day, Ed spent a good 5+ hours with us going over towing a boat, launching/retrieval, to docking. As new owners who were initially nervous and excited, I can't thank Ed for the time he spent with us to make sure we felt comfortable with our new boat and ensure that our first experience as boat owners was positive. To Ed and the staff at Talley's Pier 77... we can't thank you enough. There was something that Ed said that really stuck with me... " My job as a salesperson begins after the sale". I firmly believe that Talley's Pier and Ed live by those words, and while our next boat purchase is far out, we do know where we will turn when it's time for an upgrade!
